I find 'battle rifle' perfectly acceptable. Who among us can't say that they haven't called the MA5B Assault Rifle a machine gun. Or the M41 LAAG the turret. Or the Shade simply the gun. Or the M19 SSM Rocke Launcher the bazooka. Or the S2 AM Sniper Rifle the sniper... (Insert other) Keep it up.

So that explains it...Well, that's all I needed to know. If your sources are old, then 'battle rifle' is a good substitute.

What I plan to do with the sequel(s) is to tell it through another Marine's POV, then another's, then MC's. They explain more and the third one explains the most.

I ment to change the claymore thing but I forgot. I used paragraphs but they didn't display right. The battle rifle is from Halo2. And how do you know they use Lotus mines?

The claymore is perfectly acceptable to use. Who knows it won't be in action hundreds of years from now. It'll really put a serious hurting on anyone stepping on one, or in a 100 meter radius for that matter. Of course the Lotus might be alot more advanced. For stories begining with a total screw-up you can explain it with one abbreviation. FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Repair) It's a military phrase for when things go bad, like when friendlies are on the recieving end of their own arrtillery.
BTW, good story, cosidering it's your first.

I wasn't entirely sure about the weapons. My sorces are old, that's why I called it simply battle rifle.

The battle rifle is not from halo 2 the new weapons are either the SMG sub machine gun that fires caseles s ammo or the other one is the MA2B assault rifle.

Despite a little inaccuracy in identifying the terms for weaqpons, that story was good. I expect more sequels, if you really plan on it.

Nicley done. though, it does end at a very confusing cliff hangar. I don't know wether it was all took place at Halo or that this happened sometime after. but I suppose the next chapter will explain. Hopefully. Good job. Considering it's your first. Keep it up.

Everyone new now says that. Kool story pretty awasome a couple errors and Claymore mine and battle rifle? They use assault rifles and Lotus mines but what the hell. Keep it coming!
