I agree with Indrid, but let me clarify his words.
  A. Sgt. Apone is identical to Sgt. Johnson.
  B. The cat post refering to Jonesy, but sometimes it is Johesy.
  C. The dropship is so close to the one in Aliens Im suprised there is not a lawsuit.
  D. A few quotes were menchined from Aliens: -"Marines, we ARE leaving!" -"Punch it." (More commonly used today.) -"C'mon marines, the corps aint paying by the hour."
  E. One marine has a panic attack and closely relates to Pvt. Hudson in Aliens.

I've noticed something interesting about Halo. It rips off of a few things. Now, I'm not saying this is bad, in fact, I find it quite interesting. One major thing that Halo is ripping off of is the Alien series. Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien: Ressurection. There are many examples. One being Sgt. Johnson, the black Marine commander. He looks, talks and acts like Sgt. Apone in Aliens. Also, there's a message board on the bridge of the Pillar of Autumn. One says, 'Missing: Calico Cat Name: Jonsey, (or Johesy, I can't tell.) There was a Calico cat named Jonesy on Alien and Aliens. Also, the Flood rip of two major things. One, Aliens, if you have read the Halo novelization by William C. Dietz, you see that the Infection forms burrow into the chest of those who they infect. Just like Chestbursters. The Flood is also a rip off of John Carpenter's The Thing. It infects beings but only somewhat like the Thing. There are other examples also.

I love your writing. It's the best fan fiction I've read so far on this site. I always wait for the next chapter to come. It keeps getting better!!! :)

The Hunters being mechinal is kinda stupid, the fact that they bleed orenge blood and feel pain. Other wise the story was pretty cool
