Because I found that I could situate and involve my character and ideas far more expansively with other writer's characters than simply with my own creations. It is much more interesting to participate with others as well when creating something.

I don't see a resemblence between Morpheous and EVA, but I could be missing something. As for the Spartans, I do not write on them, there's enough on them already in the fanfics. But I will not deny that a Spartan just may play a role in this story...remember, there is more than one author writing this.
