The Battle of Fort Mile Part 1

Mission:Defend the area from any Covenant forces from breaking through the lines.
Location:Earth. Casablanca, Africa.
"Alright men, prepare to defend yourselves. Those covies are going to hit us with all they got,
They think they will take over this last defense. They think they will conquer us, They think they can come here and do what they like. Will, lets give them hell for what they need. We will give them bullets in there guts, and punch them in there nuts. They will be alive in there own living organs hanging out , We will make sure they learn that we mean business. Am I right Marines?" yelled Lt. CO Keeper. "Sir, yes sir!" yelled back by the marines. "Hell yeah I'm right! Lets lock and load" he reloaded his rifle then walked back to his position with his other comrades. The rest of the Marines went back to there positions as well, the 'fort' that they are defending is part of a city, before the invasion they had built large thick walls around the 1 mile radius fort. The Marines called this fort "Fort Mile". New Mombassa was already invaded on November 9th. Which gave these marines time to rethink the plans. The Covenant knew Africa was the perfect target for such planetary invasion. For now, all that kept these marines alive was hope and food.
Later that evening...
"Be on alert, we don't want these sneaky bastards coming up on us." Lt. CO Keeper told the marines who were on the ground resting, a few spotters were looking out for the Covenant. Then out of no where a blue shining ball of plasma shot out from the horizon of the city coming towards the area. "ALARM! ALARM!" yelled over the speakers as the plasma ball came down towards the fort blasting the barracks into little pieces of metal. Every marine went to alert, they grabbed there gear and went to every inch of the wall. The Lt. ran towards the op center to communicate with nearby Pelicans. "This is Fort Mile come in H1..." he waited for a response. "This is H1 to your service, what is the problem Fort Mile?" "We got a situation here, there appears to be some covies to the west shooting up on us. You don't mind to do some dirt business over there? Just check it out of anything is spooking them up." "Alright, will go there in two minutes. Will be there no less than 5" "Roger that, Fort Mile over and out" Keeper hanged up and walked outside to check what is going on. He walked over to one of the Sgt's in charged of the West Wall. "Anything?" "No sir." "ok just call me if anything happens" "Yes sir!" then Keeper walked off and over to the post 2. He yelled up to the spotter. "Anything?" "No sir" "alright" then he walked over to his post back at the South Wall. Finally, two Pelicans fly over to check on the West. He ran back to the Op Center to keep in contact with them. Over the loud speakers of both pilots they spoke. Pilot 1, "Anything on your side?" Pilot 2, "Nope...wait a second. Is that what I think that is? Oh my god it's a-" The second Pelican then exploded by the blue plasma charge. Pelican 1 quickly returned back then responded over the comm, "This is Pelican 1, we spotted a group of Covies, having two Wraiths, a few Banshee's and Ghosts. Many Elites and grunts, a few Hunters. And I think we spotted many Drones heading towar-" Pelican 1 go shot by another plasma charge. "Ugh, Sgt. get your men ready now." "Yes Sir!" the Sgt. ran back outside to get his men ready.
1:30 A.M.
Lt. CO Keeper was already at his post, everyone was ready. But not like this. All of a sudden Plasma charge came down from the sky. "TAKE COVER!" yelled Keeper as he ran over to a small storage building, a few others joined him. Three plasma charges took down the West Wall and 2 marines died right there. The rest were hitting randomly. It stopped then Keeper walked out as he saw a large hole at the West Wall. He ordered his men to check that area. By no time fourteen drones swoop down taking two of his men and just killing them by ripping them apart, everyone panic and started to shoot at them. One drone fell to its death near the Op Center. He ran over to check if it was still alive. He walked next to it as it was still alive, the drone tried to kill Keeper by firing its Plasma pistol, but Keepers quick reflexes kicked the Plasma Pistol out of its grip. He took out his pistol and aimed at its head. Bam! One shot and its blood all over the floor. He turned as two Sgt's looked at him. "This is not a time to be wasting, have your men try to hold out on the West Wall" They both saluted and ran back to the West Wall. Keeper looked over to the North, and East Walls. They seem to be ok. By no time they all heard of the rumbling noise of the army of covenants coming towards Fort Mile.
1:50 A.M.
Keeper saw it coming, many beyond many of the covies were marching towards Fort Mile. He order his men to stand by. Two minutes passed by as the covenant came very close, so close infact that you could hear some of them speaking in there tongues. As they came close as possible, Keeper yelled out, "FIRE!" then every marine took aim and fired, the first wave was quickly crippled by many lead bullets. "That was easy" Pvt. Lance said. Then a plasma grenade got on him, a fellow marine grabbed him quickly and threw him over the wall. The explosion didn't even scratch the surface of the wall. "God, another one. If any of you marines get caught by a plasma grenade. Make yourself useful and go back at them." every marine yelled, "Yes sir!" the shots of bullets rang into the night, though the shots of the covies scared some of the Marines. No later than 10 minutes passed by through this battle, 20 marines died. The Covenant were coming up on the wall. Keeper ordered his marines to pull back, by then. Air support came through, two Pelicans dropped by having a few reinforcements. Only to be greenhorns, "Agh these kids are not yet ready" Keeper thought as he shot two grunts coming towards the hole in the West Wall.
An hour passed as North Wall soon got some action, then the South. The East soon joined in the action. All around they were surrounded by Covenants shooting at them. About 78 Marines died, "This is not good we got to do something about this" Keeper thought when he ran over to his Officer, "Jack, we need to keep these grunts off our backs. Call in support of any type. We need to hold this fort out." "Keeper, we just got word that we will be relived here in three hours, fellow Helljumpers will join us then the rest of the Marines. That is about it. They will come from all around to cut off the Covenants reinforcement." "Good, then lets hold this sucker out!" he yelled as he reloaded his rifle and ran out to join the Marines. "Sir, I think we cant hold on this long" A spotter pointed out on great distance of many Covenants. "Will just have to hold this fort. Because this battle has only begun" Keeper walked over to his men as they begun to melee against a few covenants. "May god help us all" Keeper said as he ready his rifle. The fort was now under seige by hundreds of Covenants. About 300 Marines,out of the 300 were 200 greenhorns and the rest are experince vets. The battle for Fort Mile has begun.
