"All sectors clear, prepare to move the ship over the Library to pick up the captain." ordered the First Officer of the In Amber Clad, Credo Leviers. Credo was known for his ruthlessness in combat, especially space combat. He had destroyed a Covenant fleet about to glass the human colony Erico Ordain by flying straight through their fleet and setting off a NOVA nuclear mine, which effectively destroyed their entire group.
Now, hovering over 100 meters above the ring world, Halo, he felt nervous. Not just nervous about picking up Commander Miranda Keyes, but the Flood. They had already destroyed a group attempting to get onboard, and now he was wondering if they really all had been destroyed.
"Sir, incoming Pelican from the surface, opening docking bay hatches." said the officer in charge of the landing craft coming to and from the In Amber Clad.
"Human life signs detected, roughly fifteen signatures, no flood detected."

But little did they know...they had been invaded....

Tech sergeant Mark prepared to give the Pelican clearance to land when the foul smell hit him. He was almost knocked out, by the intensity, before the Flood Infection Form took hold of his chest, and burrowed itself into him.

Pandemonium spread across the bay as the Flood combat forms bashed the door of the Pelican open and leaped out in midair and ran across the bay. The Pelican crashed into a door that lead into a corridor, and infection forms scurried out the broken cockpit into the corridor beyond. ODST groups started to open fire, but were overwhelmed by the sheer number and power of the Flood combat and infection forms.

"Sir, they have taken over the ODST drop pod bay, they are about to enter maintenance corridor A-128, which leads to engineering. Venting atmosphere."
Credo had tried to crash the In Amber Clad on Halo, from stopping the Flood from taking control of a light-speed enabled vessel, but was not getting response from the engines.
Escape pods exited the In Amber Clad crashed and into the surface, only to be resent as more combat forms.
That was all Credo could think until he heard banging on the main entrance to the bridge, and the Flood aroma spread through the room as the doors started to part. When they were almost opened, a hole appeared in the door, and one, two then three infection forms scurried to claim the bridge officers as their own, and succeeded.

"The In Amber Clad was coming closer to the Library, coming to pick us up." thought Mirada Keyes as they traveled across the gap in the gondola, looking and seeing the huge ship lurch forward to the Library. "Another Pelican, it looks like, coming from the surface." She said aloud, "We need to hurry." to the marines onboard, "That's easy for you to say!" said Sergeant Johnson, putting a clip into his SMG, "There are covenant trailing right behind us, and we'll have to take them out, eventually"
***********************************************************************
The humans have been spotted entering the Prison; they are going to activate this ring! We, the Flood, must stop the humans from interfering!
Gravemind, the united conscience of the Flood, was absorbing the information on how to fly this pile of mechanical junk and find more planets to integrate into Flood, to eat, to absorb...
***************************************************************************
Only a few humans remained on the In Amber Clad, in the weapons locker, holding off the Food with SPNKER missiles and MA5B assault rifles plus the new BR55 battle rifles. But, proving the Floods consistency, they transformed the last of the human scum into able combat forms getting ready to invade the most worthy prize of all, the Covenant Homeworld, High Charity...
***************************************************************************
Just as the Master Chief blew a few heads off some Brutes, he was about to cross a light bridge, and Cortana reassured him, "Don't worry, just step in." Just as she picked up a slip space signal, she said, "It's the In Amber Clad! Attempting to hail... no response. No human life signs either." Just as how he was momentarily curious what happened, he understood. Instantly. The Covenant would never use human equipment, much less a ship...and the last place the In Amber Clad was...was... The Library...which means that the Flood had taken over the In Amber Clad! He started to run, get out of High Charity as soon as possible, until he reached a docking bay and again see the Amber Clad, crashed inside a pillar a couple of kilometers away, flood forms crawling out of it, and knew he would have to relive the Flood like on the First Halo.....All over again...
