1453 Location:Milky Way System Republic of Australia Outpost Oni Section 3 Fortress

It was a bright day in the Eridanus system. The atmosphere of the planet was glorious enough to eat out of. The 2nd ODST Airborne Division preped themselves to deploy on an abandoned outpost within the area of Mars. They've established a communications system there as surveilance to monitor enemy movements of the Covenant. Oni Section 3 researchers were still on the brink of locating the Covenant homeworld to turn the tide of war against them.

The inferior Covenant Juggernaut had taken a number of outposts within the Milky Way System and kept killing. They had to be stopped. Luckily, the human race had a couple of aces up their sleeves. Oni Section 3 was working on advanced super soldiers code named SPARTANS.

The Spartan project was successful, yet remained flawless to the media. A spartan was never known to be killed. The ultimate fighting machine. Whenever one was killed, the military only confirmed them as KIA or MIA. A Spartan was the blinding light in the darkness of the Covenant offensive.
Special Forces UNSC Officers Matt Mcoy and Shane Leach were the main commanding officers of the latest defensive at the Enigma installation on Mars. The station had come under siege when the orbital cannons were powered down do to a canastrophic storm produced there. The generators had been struck and left the outpost vulnerable to attack by the Covenant warships. Officer Shane lead a small task force to hold the strong point and the northern part of the base while Officer Matt led a small team to guard the downed generators. The mission lead to a great battle with massive troop casaulties.

Shane's squad was battered when the massive Wraith tanks bombarded the walls. Shane regrouped at checkpoint delta with Matt's squad and formed a defensive post on the west side of the base. Power was down for approximately 20mins on the base while minor tune ups were being made.

Shane's squad charged the plasmatronic mortars and repelled the invaders from the land offensive. Officer McCoy took his remaining technicians with him to locate the emergency power supply to get the shields up. Officer Leach continued the land offensive with all his might.

In his eyes was only conifdence and no fear of what was coming. Leach exclaimed" Come on you scrodem testicle people!! I don't give a crap about any of you. You will all die now! I will kill all of your family and rip out your intestines and shove them up your butts! then i will barbeque them on the Volcanos of Mars while I spit in your ashes! The moral of all his troops increased as they fought to their doom.

Officer McCoy lead his troops to hold off the west region of the outpost. He divided his team into two groups to multitask on the outpost. 1 team defended the area while the other team assisted in base maintenance.

After 8 hours, the fighting came to a screeching halt. The Covenant lay dead on the field. Their carcasses polluted the significant landscape of Mars. The officers' squadrons were cut in half from the first time they started the enraged firefight. Many men and women were lost in the assault on the Mars Outpost. Shane and Matt were honored as heros, leading the human race one step closer to ending this pointless war. Shane remarked" we didn't need a dang spartan to do our job. Just gimme something to shoot and I'll manage".

The Covenant Space Fleet advanced nearer and nearer to the banged up outpost. Fear was of the essence at this point. Inside, the two officers were wondering how much longer they would have to fight off the inevitable before they reached their home planet: Earth. That was something they were willing to give everything for. Ten ODST teams were deployed several hours after the covenant stopped the land offensive. They secured the area, set a peremiter, and cleared the area of debris and trash.

Silence filled the air. It seemed more of an eerie silence than peaceful. Something didn't feel right to the officers. Shane was concerned and sent in a delta team to post up at the guard tower in the north. All of a sudden an ecliptic light flashed the surrounding area. Shane and Matt flinched to protect their eyes. Minutes later, Shane and Matt uncovered their eyes angry at what they found.

The outpost was decimated. The roof above them was all that was left. The walls were torn apart and crippled. Everyone was but dust particles and skeletons now. Instead of staying helpless, Shane said"it's time for payback". Officer McCoy radioed home to Oni Section 3 for airborne pickup to HQ.

To be continued...... =-) Halo Rulz!
