Once I dreamed
That I was walking down a path
Through an exotic, heavenly place
After an exhausting marathon of sorts.
On this path
I saw a ship
Doomed to sink at the bottom of a sea
But the sea was made of stars.
On this path
I met a hero
Strong as a hammer
And quiet as the wind.
On this path
I met a covenant of creatures
And the only thing they all had in common
Were four limbs.
On this path
I met a one-eyed man
Who had not a spark of guilt
For the deception he had done.
On this path
I met a flood of beings
Who had once lived
But now were living a half-life.
At the end of the path
Was where my journey began
So in anger I broke it
And left, never to return.
