2000 Hours, May 27, 2561 (Military Calendar) /
Epsilon Serpentis System, Babylon XVII Theater
Susa Military Complex Wilderness Preserve

The A7-Albatross Rocketed through the sunset inside was the Master Chief and five junior Spartans.  Master Chief commands attention to himself and announces "Todays game is a game of chance the last squad to the ship is the one who has to walk home and just so you know we are well over 200 miles away from the barracks and there is a mountain range between us and the base. You each were issued a piece of paper before you entered the ship. On each piece of paper is part of a map once your dropped off you need to find each other then find an other squad to find where you are supposed to go the last squad to reach the rendezvous point won't have a ship waiting and will be forced to walk back or they could die.  I will admit you five are my favorite squad.  And of you don't make it no one will."
Erik looked at who else was in the ship it was Cain-408, Deja-777, Ezekiel-191, and John-218. These four were his best friends since his first day as a Spartan.
The Chief selected Cain as the first to get dropped off.  After a few minutes Deja, then John, then Erik was asked to go, so he hopped out of the albatross and started to head for the lake because that's where they planned to meet up and put together their parts of the map. After a few hours of walking he found the lake and the rest of his squad they had their pieces of the map put together and were waiting for him.  He ran to them with his piece of the map held out he set it down in the right spot but up side down, Deja flipped it over, they realized that they had the half of the map where the rendezvous point was so they didn't need an other squad so they got their barerings straight and headed for the rendezvous point. When they could see the troop ships Cain realized that in their attempt at a speedy return they left the rest of the squad in the dust and said "Lets stop here and make camp and wait for the others."
"Why?" Deja asked
"'Cause I don't want anyone to have to walk home." Cain stated firmly
So the team stopped just a couple dozen meters away from the rendezvous point and built a fire hoping that the smoke would draw the rest of the squad.  The other squads arrived one by one over a period of a day. The final team arrived at night and instead of waking everyone up they just kept going to the rendezvous point where an albatross was waiting, they left only a note for their comrades informing them that they left.
That morning Erik found the note immediately informing the other Spartans that they have been betrayed.  A furious Ezekiel stormed towards thee LZ (landing Zone) with four other boys behind him, the rest of the squad no just 65 strong packed up and left at noon that day leaving in a single very crowded albatross.
When they returned they found in the Barracks that Ezekiel was in fight with an other boy and the master chief was just watching and since he was in his armor nobody could tell what the expression on his face was yet alone why he was in his armor.
"At ease 191 and 329."  The chief yelled all of a sudden.  "You two call yourselves Spartans, well right now you are not because Spartans stick together, Spartans have respect, Spartans are the best of the best if you think you are by fighting you don't have a clue of what a Spartan is.  Remember the wolves they worked together for a single cause to achieve one single objective that is how a Spartan should work like a hungry pack of wolves.  If you continue this nonsense you both will be ejected from the Spartan program.  Separated from your family and each other never to see a Spartan again.  You will be cut off."

Chi-Gong-Fi System, Aboard UNSC Destroyer Black Dragon
Boarding Xhosa-Ming Space Station In Orbit Over Ki-Shing IV

Lieutenant Commander Samuel Stallin of the UNSC (United Nations Space Command) Black Dragon, he stood at the bridge of his almost invincible destroyer.  The Black Dragon fully armed weighs in at 1.2 million tons equipped with four Mark-9 quick charging MAC (Magnetic Accelerated Cannon) two fore and two aft, twenty-six hundred Chu-ko-nu missile pods, three modified covenant plasma torpedoes, one stolen covenant saber beam cannon, and twenty SHEVA nuclear rockets.  The Lieutenant Commanders favorite weapon though was the Fire Storm Accelerator, a weapon of merged human-covenant technology this weapon uses an atomic fusion bomb inside the Saber Cannon, which harnesses the energy and focuses it into a beam and slices through any thing in its path, when being tested it cut through a small moon.  The majority of the ships mass came from the 15 meters of honey combs of stolen covenant ship armor (salvaged from the battle for reach) and titanium-A battle plate armor, the ship also hides behind an attempt at energy shield also salvaged from a covenant cruiser.  To push all the armor and weapons around is one Human beta Fusion Reactor to power the human thrusters and a covenant polymax plasma core for the main engines of Covenant design; the Black Dragon is also capable of slipstream space precision travel.  This ship is the first destroyer classified as a human-covenant hybrid vassal because of all of the stolen covenant armor and technologies.  It was also partially manned by covenant deserters, three elites and one hunter to be precise, the hunter controlled the saber cannon and the Elites the plasma torpedoes, and they were always very closely watched.  Lt. Stallin loved his ship even if it was fresh out of the port and only six weeks old, on the ships side someone in their painted a non-regulation black dragon and strangely inside of the dragon was a red omega symbol on the side at that time he didn't understand the red omega until his first assignment with this rookie ship.

In the Lt. Cmdr.s Mind the painting on his ship and the fact that his first objective was to take the Omega Red to their enhancements meant they were forever linked.

Erik dressed in a medical gown was sitting on a bed when Master chief walked in
"Get through this one." The chief said. "This will be the only mission you go through that you wont decide if you will accomplish it or not just be strong and return as a Spartan not a child in a body bag."
"Chief how do I win this if I don't decide?"
"Fight that how you win you fight for your life."
"I'll win this one for you chief so you can see me succeed."
Hours later the Master Chief watches Erik through a plate glass window as the doctors' hitch him up to endless tubes and wires, injecting him with the one thing that has taken more Spartan lives than the covenant.  But it was also Omega Reds final test and what made a Spartans what they are, super soldiers, he nervously glanced back down at his file to see what exactly they were putting in these young soldiers again.

Synopsis/ biological risks

WARNING: the following procedures are classified level-3 experimental.  Primate test subjects must be cleared through UNSC Quartermaster General Office C=code: OBF34.  Follow gamma code biohazard disposal protocol.

1. Carbide Ceramic Ossification: advanced material grafting onto skeletal structures to make bones virtually unbreakable.  Recommended coverage not to exceed 3 percent total bone mass because there is a high risk of significant white blood cell necrosis.  Specific risk for pre- and near postpubecent adolecents: skeletal growth spurts may cause irreparable bone pulverzation. See attached case studies.

2. Muscular enhancement injections: protein complex is injected intramuscularly to increase tissue density and decrease lactase recovery time. Risk: five percent of test subjects experience a fatal cardiac volume increase.

3. Catalytic thyroid implant: Platinum pellet containing human growth hormone catalyst is implanted in the thyroid to boost growth of skeletal and muscle tissues. Risk: rare instances of elephantiasis. Suppressed sexual drive.

4. Occipital capillary reversal: submergence and boosted blood vessel flow beneath the rods and cones of subject's retina.  Risk: retinal rejection and detachment. Permanent blindness. See attached autopsy reports

5. Superconducting fabrication neural dendrites: alteration of bioelectrical nerve transudation to shielded electronic transduction.  Three hundred percent in subject reflexes.  Anecdotal evidence of marked increase in intelligence, memory, and creativity. Risk: significant instances of Parkinson's disease and Fletcher's syndrome.

6. Polyatomic plasma ion inductor: covenant shield chip placed at the base of the brain to protect subject from any spinal or neural damage.  Risk: occasional energy burst may sever the spinal cord or even cause fatal brain damage.  See recently translated covenant manuscripts.

7. Oxygen complex capillary implants: oxygen gel is implanted in strategic areas of the body. Six hundred percent increase in time subject can go without breathing. Risk: Gel can occasionally clog subjects blood flow result, death

Master Chief closed the file.  He was very stressed so he went to the place where every Spartan felt most comfortable the gym.  When the chief arrived there were leatherneck marines working out there.  The chief acknowledged them with a head nod and proceeded to the bench at which he placed a total of 1.2 thousand pounds on the one hundred pound bar then walks around, lies down on the bench and continues to go up and down as if the was no weight at all.  The astonished marines looked at the chief then each one at the other and mumbled something to each other.  After a few moments they walked over to the chief and asked what squad he was in?
"Spartan 117 of Alpha Green, The First, The Finest, The Best...The Elite." he responded
"All of those guys are dead" one of the marines said
      "Nope, there's one left.  Me"
"When was your first battle with the COV then?"
"2037 hours, Nov. 27, 2525, the same day as the killing of the first Spartan.  Forty years ago today."
      "Really"
The chief got and left.  He had an appointment in a few hours and he'd like to finally see this new Spartan doctor.

Doctor Karen Wade stood in room 408 of the Xhosa-Ming station; she was amazed at the physical condition of the fourteen-year-old boy in front of her.  If she didn't know any better she would think he was a nineteen-year-old Olympic athlete.  The boy his shaven completely bald with fresh insertion marks all over his body where the operators had injected grafted or implanted things to make this boy into a Spartan.
"He's the best we got," Master Chief said as he walked up behind the good doctor. "I'm going to appoint him squad leader."
"Hopefully he's a good choice." The doctor commented.
"He's a tactical genus and has the brute strength of an ox, that was before this week."
"But can he lead?"
"Lets hope so."
