Capture The Flag: Sidewinder Antics

Sergeant Dorsett filled the clip of his sniper rifle and clicked back into zoom 8x as he watched a blue team member bolt across the middle of the field on the ice. Sgt. Could hardly keep from chuckling as he watched the rookie try to gain traction on the slippery surface. But this was no time to mess around. He sighted the rookie, lead the target just ever so slightly, and squeezed the trigger....

Private Nixon was having trouble getting any traction at all on the ice. He was a rookie, and his teammates reminded him of that everyday. He was trudging across the ice when he lost his footing and fell to the cold, hard surface just in time to here a bullet skim by his head. He panicked and quickly got up, only to fall down once more when he lost his footing, again. Another shot fired, clipping Nixon's shoulder. He was in immense amounts of pain. Nixon had never been shot with real bullets before. He quickly switched to his team com link and quickly yelled "I need back up....HURRY!". Nixon could not get up to his feet so he dragged himself along the ice with his good arm. But, he wasn't going anywhere.

Sgt. Dorsett laughed mercilessly at the rookies' pathetic attempts to run away. He only had two bullets left, but he wasn't worried, the blue rookie wasn't moving at all with one arm lying on the ice. He sighted the target for the last time. He aimed and prepared to pull the trigger, but then he heard a low rumbling sound...

Pvt. Nixon was delirious, was this it? Was this really how he was going to die? He had so much to live for. He didn't want to die. But just then, he heard a low rumbling noise. He shifted his head to look behind him to see two of his teammates. Sgt. Stetz was driving a classic warthog straight at him. Accompanying his Sgt. was another one of his teammates, Corporal Benjamin in the chain gun turret firing off a large quantity of rounds towards a cliff. That must've been where the sniper is concealing himself. He pulled out a pistol from his belt and tried to sight the sniper, but before he could fire a shot the warthog sped by him as his Sgt. scooped him up in one arm while keeping one on the wheel. "Come on rookie!", the Sgt. yelled above the engines as he brought the rookie over his body and slammed him in the side seat. Nixon made it.

Sgt. Dorsett could hardly believe what had just happened. It was so quick. But while he was still wondering a bullet buried itself into the Sergeant's shin. He winced and fell to the ground. He crawled back into the teleportation room and laid himself against the wall. Before he could even relax Lieutenant Noram radioed in on the com link "Sarge, a warthog full of blue's is heading right towards our base!".

Sgt. dragged himself through the teleporter and quickly grabbed a shotgun. He scanned the front of the base and saw nothing. He heard a loud scream in his COM link and some crashing noises from below near the flag. He dropped down to the bottom level of the base and saw the warthog standing over Noram's body. With both the gunner and the rookie in the warthog, but where was the driver? He fired one buck shot at the warthog and heard a loud scream and watched the rookie fall out of the hog, slumped like a rag doll. The other blue swiveled in his turret over to the Sgt. and squeezed down the trigger on the turret for an extended period of time.

The Corporal watched the red Spartan's body twitch on the ground as he relentlessly fired at the carcass. He had killed the rookie. Sure, he'd given the kid hard times, but he cared for him. He released the trigger and slumped down next to the turret. Sgt. Stetz dropped down the ladder and gathered the scene quickly. Nixon was dead and Corporal was in a slump. He placed his hand on the Corporal's shoulder. "I'm sorry..." he mumbled. Corporal raised his head to look at his Sgt. but a shot rang out and the Corporal's head slumped to the side. Sgt. snapped his head back over to the entrance of the base and saw a red with a pistol sighting at the Sergeants head. The Sgt. dropped down to the ground as a shot whizzed by him and imbedded itself into the wall near the flag.

Colonel Jones reloaded his pistol to aim at the blue lying on the ground. He released a slug out and heard it hit the blue in the chest and screamed. He watched the blue slump over to the side. But not before he heard the blue mumble something. "Die you red piece of crap....". The red chuckled until he heard a clinking noise. He looked at his feet to see a grenade. He took one step back but he had no chance. The grenade detonated and his body was mangled in the explosion. Sidewinder was empty. Empty and desolate. Or so we thought.......

A modified, reconnaissance Pelican dropped down into Sidewinder. Three Spartans stepped out. One of the Mark 5's suited up in his customized black armor. A smaller, leaner Spartan was colored a deep, almost blood red, color. The last was suited in the standard olive green color. The Pelican drop ship lifted off into the sky and the Spartan's stood there. Just waiting. The three players were teleported to separate points in Sidewinder. "SLAYER!", the announcer yelled. And so the next game had begun.
