Read/Post Comments

Now theres probably alot of you out there right now reading this wondering why Covenant Invasion Part 1 is being submitted when its already been submitted. Well if any of you read the comments for my story Its Just One of Those Days you might have seen a few posts from me or HK about starting a team project. Well, here it is. Basically you could call this a rip-off or copy or Covenant Invasion, except that it really isn't a rip off its a plot change. It's like how the story would have gone if it hadn't gone the way it did. For those of you that are straight to the point, that just means I took the chapter, and changed some of wording and dialogue, and tried to make the plot more exciting, then I OK it with HK and if we need to change it we do, then submit it. I was a little worried about contrast with whats in this version of episode 1 and whats in his version of episode 6, but I never heard anything back from him on it soo, if you're reading this right now and you needed to make changes. 4 words:

Sucks to be you

And without further adue... or however the hell you spell it... I present...

The battleships Lone Wolf, the Freedom, and the Intrepid were parked in high orbit of Earth.
---ON THE BRIDGE OF THE WOLF---
Admiral Jonathan Starblade began to wonder of the odds. Three Iowa Class Battleships against the entire Covenant Fleet. Pretty slim for the Humans. With their once great fleets decimated it was now a game of cat-and-mouse.
"Lieutenant," Jonathan addressed the Communications Officer.
"Sir?" He replied.
"Open a channel to the other ships."
"Aye, sir." He began working his console.
"Channel open."
He also picked up a speaker that would send his voice through the ship.
"Attention, this is Admiral Starblade speaking. All personnel, prepare to engage the Enemy. Repeat, all personnel, man Battle Stations. Starblade out."
Sirens began. Crewmen were ether running around, looking for a station, or pressing buttons and typing at a console.
Suddenly, hundreds of Covenant Dropships and Banshees descended towards the UNSC ships.
He opened another comm. channel. "All pilots, report to fighters, and lift off! Don't let a single one of those bastards get down to Earth!"
The ships got closer...
Closer....
So close the crew could see the Covie pilots...
90 Longswords intercepted the Covies.
"Mr. Obuto," The Admiral addressed the Tactical Officer this time.
"Yes?"
"Can we lock the Sharpshooters onto the Covenant ships approaching?"
"Yes, sir..."
"Forward Batteries, Fire as she Bares!"
80 Missiles hurtled towards the Covies.
Explosions z! oomed ar ound most of the smaller craft.
Then, Jonathan noticed something. "Umm.... Starblade to Alpha One." Alpha One was the callsign of the Wolf's First Officer; Commander Lance McDouglas.
"Alpha One here," Came the crackling reply over the comm. channel.
"Lance. Only the Fighters and Dropships are attacking. Why aren't the Covenant Battleships and Cruisers mixing it up?"
"I have no clue. Although it would seem that they are overconfident."
"Yep. Hows it down there?"
Lance's radio was almost flooded with static. "Heavy---- from all side--- can't hold--- on..."
"Shit!"
Lance's radio went dead. "Report!" Jonathan almost screamed at his Science Officer.
"Sensors indicate the Commander's Longsword has been hit by Plasma fire."
"Now, we can only pray he makes it down to Earth."
---AT THE SCENE OF THE BATTLE---
Dropships, Banshees and Longswords alike were swerving much from enemy fire.
Lance's Fighter was spewing smoke. It was swerving violently too.
In the Cockpit, alarms were going off, all systems failing, wing structures crippled and taking more damage, and consoles were filled with electric explosions and static.
"I'm Going down! Repeat: I'm going down! Mayday! MAYDAY! Damn, my radio's down!"
His ship entered the Stratoshpere...
---ON THE BRIDGE OF THE WOLF---
"Report, Ensign."
"Aye, Admiral. Most of the Enemy dropships where eliminated before they got to the stratoshpere. However, 74 made it to Earth."
Jonathan let out a sigh. "So, the battle is lost..."
"Negative, sir! Oh no, not over! The Marines on Earth could use a hand..."
"But," Put in his Tactical Officer, "Four Enemy ships are preparing to glass the planet!"
"Helm!"
"Sir, way ahead of ya!"
"Their weapon systems are powering up, but it will take them a while to power up." A thought came into Jonathans mind...
"Sir... Alert the Intrepid and Freedom to make a V formation with the Wolf and move the formation infront of the ships' weapon systems. All power to shields on all ships except for minimal life-support, give it everything you've got, share shield power with the Intrepid and Freedom. Ready all missile banks and laser lance cannons. Lock on to whatever is feeding their weapon systems power... Fire on my mark."
"Yes, sir!" (a little Elfster humor).
The ships made the formation and the Wolf transferred as much shield power as possible to them..
"Science Officer... Report on Covenant weapon systems."
"Covenant cruiser weapon systems are only at 50% power, sir."
The Admiral took a deep breath. "Fire..."
All 80 missile banks fired, along with 7 Laser Lance Cannons and 3 Photon Torpedoes.
They exploded on the Covenant battle cruisers' weapon system power core, cutting all power to weapon systems and leaving the plasma beams at half power. The control circuitry was fried, the beams from the 4 ships converged into 2, and shot out at Earth - But hit the Intrepid and the Freedom.
The combined power of the 3 ship's shields couldn't even do much. But it did what it could, for Earth. The shields went down, the ships shook violently, all systems were failing and powering down, the Intrepid and the Freedom's hulls were deformed metal with holes torn in them floating through space.
"REPORT!" he yelled.
"Sir, the Intrepid and the Freedom are a mess. They have life support but not for long."
"And the Covenant?"
"The cruisers have no power to weapon systems and their shields are temporarily off-line... They are defenseless for the moment."
"Hmm... Do the other ships have any engine power?"
"No, Sir, their engines are either destroyed, or going critical."
"Wait a second. When a ship's reactors go critical, don't they explode with great magnitude?"
"Yes, sir, but....." He didn't need to finish his sentence.
"Now, load all the marines into our Pelicans, instruct the other two to do the same, and send 'em down!"
The Battle for Earth had begun...
"Aye, aye!" Said the Tactical and Comm. Officers at the same time, then went about their task.
Jonathan walked into the lift with Mr. Obuto...
---IN THE LAUNCH BAY---
Mr. Obuto was reviewing the Marines before sending then off. "The fate of Earth... may very well be in your hands..." He said.
Jonathan walked up. Mr. Obuto explained to the curious Marines. "Admiral Starblade has decided to come with us."
All the Marines saluted, and one said, "Sir! Jhonston, Rico, 1st Class Private reporting!"
"You can call me Jonathan, Rico. All my friends do." He extended his hand for a handshake.
The Private accepted the shake.
"Okay..." His voice trailed for a second, like all his training was stopping him from saying...
"Jonathan." He smiled, like he had just got something off his shoulders, which was quite possible.
They loaded into the Pelicans, and floored it down to Earth...
The Wolf diverted all power to engines, and jetted away from the 2 other Iowa class ships as they exploded into space dust. the great explosion took the 4 Covenant cruisers down with it. They made a great sacrifice to save Earth. It was the first of many....
