"We have been here for decades, when do we leave?" John asked to himself as he entered the Armoury station.
" About time we got those in." he grunted to himself. He snooped around the armoury. He was aboard the newest ship in the UNSC forces, the sleek battle cruiser, called The Hurricane. It housed the best of the best, all the technology, all the best the military could offer. The new standard assault rifle, the M-309
Was the latest to be used. Equipped with night vision sighting, silencer and laser pointer, they all give it the deadly accuracy and stealth capabilities. An even more invaluable asset to the deadly, was that it can be fitted with a bayonet, of which could be of great use in close combat. But the type of bullet used in this weapon is no different from the standard pistol. But that's not the point. The magazine has thirty shots, but one shot is enough to kill an Elite. The bullet, once fired, has a velocity of thirty four hundred feet per second. "Good, I will be wanting that." Said John. Then, over the loudspeakers the voice interrupted his boring thoughts, " Attention, Covenant cruisers inbound. All military personnel, report to the armoury station and standby for evacuation or to rebound possible covenant boarding craft." No sooner had the alarms gone off, marines started to pour into the armoury station. The ship suddenly lurched, sending marines to the ground. For the first time, The Fire Strom left the space dock and plunged head-first into battle. On the view screen, several covenant carriers dropped out of slipstream, right in front of the UNSC fleet. Then, out of nowhere, four silver sleek looking ships materialized directly behind the Covenant carriers. Their was a large beam of energy, sent from the silver ships and began burning and melting away at one of the covenant cruisers. It suddenly exploded, taking out several smaller covenant craft around it. The chief stared at the covenant cruisers. Then it popped into his mind. He knew one of those cruisers. The Truth and Reconciliation. How he knew this, was only his slim memory of the incident on Halo, a gargantuan ring, made by the ancient and secret civilization, called the Forerunner. Their was a transmission that was posted on the intercom, "Alert humans, this is the truth and reconciliation. We need assistance to fight these metal beasts. They destroyed what we had created, and what we loved. All of time was our home world, but know it is memory..." was the booming voice of an elite over the intercom. "Attention all personnel, prepare for offensive manoeuvres. All military personnel, go to the shuttle bay and prepare for dust off."
Came another voice over the intercom. "Master Chief, please report to the bridge, on the double." Came the same voice over the intercom. When came to the bridge, everything was quiet. "Captain?" said John. "Yes chief. We need you to go in with a strike team and neutralize the enemy." Said the captain.
"I have picked the best of the best. I don't think you need or want to read their profiles right now. So you are probably wondering which badass marines I will be sending in with you? Of course you are. So first off, we have Lt. Ferrante, sniper and demolition expert. We also have Lt. Tavenor, an expert engineer.
Don't want to forget Pvt. Hartel, expert in infiltration and tactics. And last of all, Lt. Henney, the best pilot around. They will be the squad you'll command for most of the missions you will encounter. So, any questions chief? No? Good. Now move soldier." Said the captain. Later as the captain entered the shuttle bay, he was greeted by his platoon. "Good to see you sir!" they all said at once. "Alright marines, our situation is odd. We are going in and helping our old friends. So lets show our new friends a little surprise, eh?" asked the chief. No reply. " AM I RIGHT MARINES, WE ARE GONNA TAKE NO SHIT FROM A COUPLE PIECES OF METTLE?" Bellowed the chief, who was replied with a barrage of acknowledgement from his platoon. "Lt. Henney, take us out" said the chief as they jumped in the long sword drop ship. They pulled out of the shuttle bay and into the hell that was space, explosions, blasts and into the belly of the beast.
