Time unknown: Date unknown

Swarms of those things attacked the camp again last night. The raids kept getting harsher, their attacks focused on section of the perimeter wall. We don't even know if the Covenant are still alive? We stopped hearing their weapons days ago. The last we heard from them were two Hunter bond brothers being eaten alive by swarm.

Commander Ford says the beacon will be set up in a matter of hours, but I doubt we'll last that long. He told us to write a message to our loved ones, but I lost everyone I loved on Reach so putting in my entire log entry's about what happened.

For I was serving aboard the UNSC cruiser, Centaur. Suddenly a message comes to me from O.N.I telling me that I have been reassigned to a vessel I've never even heard of! I was given a goodbye party from my friends aboard the Centaur, I dreaded leaving them, a fleet was forming at Reach for a strike against those religious crazy fascists! The Covenant. In my O.D.S.T career I have only engaged them seven times, all close encounters with the cold touch of death!

My squad leader, Lieutenant Thrace told me I would be missed. She was however curious why O.N.I themselves would reassign me, but what it said on the memo was confidential, so I'm voice locking all of my logs from here on!

End of log entry.

Flight Operations officer, petty officer 1st class McNeil alerted me a Long sword fighter had landed requesting me. I quickly ended a of game of grav ball with a friend of mine headed towards the hanger. As soon as I packed my things, an escort of O.N.I specialists escorted me to the Long sword. The two of them looked almost like twins.

"Are you guys brothers, or something, cause' you two look the same." I asked them. They gave a blank response and continued to walk. As we made our way to the hanger the ship's CCTV kept following us until we came to a point were on the cameras re light kept blinking on and off, in morose code. Careful out there in the real world. I read it twice and although I read it twice it made little sense to me.

The entire hanger was empty of crew, no one in sight just a Long sword. We made our down 3 flights of stairs until the loading ramp lowered down to us, and there we walked up into the fighter sensation of fear came over, I wasn't the only one. A small group of others were also aboard the fighter, two naval officers a commander amongst them, another O.D.S.T, and three marines. Were they in the same position as me? I had wondered. A man dressed in a full leather naval dress addressed us all; he had no insignia, no medals of any kind or even a rank to address him by.

"Greetings. As you have probably guessed, we are O.N.I, we are the lifeline, the fist of humanity and you all have been selected to be O.N.I's fist! You are all aware of the Spartan project, and it is no secret that the Spartans are failing to the Covenant. That's why the UNSC has given permission to initiate the 'OBDISSIAN' protocol. It means the foothold of Covenant held planet. Now this protocol can only coincide with the Spartans attempt to capture a Covenant warship. We will rendezvous with the one and only, UNSC Obsidian. A state of the art stealth cruiser. A crew of 643.1 exactly." The man told us in great deal what we all easily tell what he told us would be confidential of the highest priority.

I stared at the fully armoured O.D.S.T, and although he was in full armour including the face helmet, I could tell he was sweating in fear, well I was. The Long sword took flight from the Centaur and headed towards what looked like a dark empty void in the middle of space. The Long sword suddenly stopped. The void started to move towards us! Panic rushed through my blood. Until the faint light of Erenedi's star revealed a warship.
