Master Chief just caught a grunt in the arm; it crouched in pain as it was whisked away by a barrage of 7.62mm ammo from the rest of the squad. Sergeant Willington was now on the cliff, seeing everything happening on the battlefield. He took out his sniper rifle, and set his ammo to subsonic (Slower than the speed of sound), the regular rounds are so fast, that they leave a smoke trail; the trail can reveal his position. He saw a jackal wielding a golden shield, a larger, impenetrable one, rather than the weaker blue ones. He set up his sights, and with a pull of the trigger, the bullet went through his back. Then a grunt, it looked towards the cliff, when Willington shot it square in the head. A Hunter fired his fuel rod gun at the cliff, but Willington knows the where the 'human tank's' weakness is. He shot it in the unprotected torso. It stumbled, and fell, squashing three grunts. His position was revealed, he picked off a grunt, shooting its head off. He ran back to the lines. Then a deep, booming voice was heard, the Chief looked everywhere until he saw it. A golden Elite standing over 9' tall wielding a plasma sword, capable of slicing anything in half with a swift blow, and he was sprinting towards them, one of the most feared Covenant out of them all. He was running towards the Marines at full speed. The Chief picked up his weapon to his shoulder and fire one round, then two, but unrelentlessly, the elite carried on, protected by his body shield, unlike the jackals, which was a shield carried by hand, the Elites' shield protected the entire body, like a force field.
"Jackhammer, now!" The Chief yelled to his squad, within a millisecond, a streaming rocket sped out of the launcher.

One of the rocket's fins broke off, sending the rocket to the right, drastically. The rocket was two feet away from hitting the target when this happened, the rocket caused massive splash damage, and the Elite's shield was over-powered and was shut down. The Elite howled and kept rushing. Another salvo was about to be fired when the launcher malfunctioned, sending a dead rocket two feet. Master Chief put the Elite's head in the sight, and with a startling explosion, the ground seemed to have erupted below the elite. The Elite was torn to pieces as the Chief looked up and saw Pelican Foxtrot 6-9 firing its 70mm chain gun into the advancing forces. The Pelican, a bulky craft that was meant to be a troop transport, but was armed to the teeth. The Pelican fired its missiles from under its wings. The missiles went straight up in the air, and took a dive down and exploded into the unseen forces. It did another strafing run, and expending all of it missiles, rockets, and bullets. It hovered above the Marine line, and like a helicopter, landed straight down.
The pilot yelled, "Get your wounded aboard, now!" the PFC and the Medic were put onboard and the pilot seemed to have said something in the radio, but it was too quiet to hear. The ship took off, spraying dirt and dust from it thrusters. Within seconds, two Pelicans and a Kingfisher, a beefed-up version of the Pelican, soared over-head. The Kingfisher fired 4 salvos of rockets, and two 50mm chain guns from the nose turrets. There were 4 bubbles on the ship, one on top, one on the bottom, and one on each side (Left and Right), each bubble carried a 70mm gun that was manned by a Marine. The bullets peppered the ground shooting up dirt and blood. The two Pelicans landed behind, each dropping off 8 Marines, and a Warthog, a 4-Wheeled vehicle capable of off-roading with a passenger, and a gunner wielding a 50mm chain gun in the back. They dropped of their cargo and fired their chain guns from the nose. One rocket swooped down and exploded, and a second later, set off a chain reaction. A massive fireball erupted spewing elites, jackals, and grunts into the air. They hit an ammo supply, exploding into a bunker, and two gun emplacements, the results were grim for the covenant. The marines shouted at their accomplishment. The Kingfisher did one last strafing run, it lined up with the trenches, and fired its chain gun arsenal in one straight line. All you could see was blood shooting up and tons of spitting earth. It then took off and rejoined with the sluggish Pelicans.

"Alright troops, lets go!" Shouted the commander of the reinforcements, Captain Jacobs. The troops amounted to 26, 28 if the injured weren't evacuated. 1 casualty, Johansson, or so they thought. The grouped got up, and creped through the grass field, meeting dead bodies and wounded. The wounded with either smashed in the head, or shot. One jackal, however, refused to die. Being shot 6 times, it was going into seizures, they shot it in the head, but it was still alive. Chief grabbed the animal, picked it up, and threw it against the cliff. The jackal just refused to die. The chief took his rifle, and smashed his skull in. The jackal died, and the Chief honored his refusal to die. Either way, no prisoners. These things aren't human. They followed the trail, meeting squads of grunts up along the way. It seemed that the passage way didn't lead to the exact building that was under the gun, rather, a small structure occupied by two grunts. Their throats were cut. They followed up the trail when one of the marines was thrown into a tree.
"What the hell was th-" Anderson was beaten to the ground before he finished his sentence. The Chief aimed up, and Captain Jacobs was in his sights.
"Chief what the hell are you doing?" And with that sentence, The Chief pulled the trigger, and one extracted 7.62mm shell fell to the ground.

Purple blood spilled out of nowhere, the squad was confused as a sound of an elite was heard. Chief kicked the ground, and suddenly, a dead Elite was lying on the ground.
"I thought you were going to shoot me." Proclaimed Jacobs.
"No, the Elite you see on the ground was invisible to the human eye, I am very skilled, plus, my internal computer has heat vision, scum bag crept up and us, let's keep moving."

The squad was tired, no doubt, but they had to go, the fate of 4 human colony worlds rested in their victory. That moment, a rumbling was heard. A Kingfisher flew overhead, smoking. The ship was engulfed with flames as it hit the ground. The troops rounded the hill, and saw marines firing their chain guns from the crashed Kingfisher, and in the background, the interplanetary gun, with scaffold surrounding it. The marines hustled over and provided the Kingfisher support. Sergeant Thomas called in another Air strike.
"Negative, negative, that LZ is too hot, I repeat, that LZ is too hot, no craft are supposed to be with the area of that gun!" The radio crackled and died. The chief grabbed a marine's rocket launcher, steadied his aim, and launched the projectile. The rocket hit directly into the gun, but with no effects. He returned the weapon and ordered his troops to charge the bunker. His eye caught something, supports, the only way was to knock out their supports and tip it over. He ordered the charge as all 26 marines rushed being covered by two gunners in the Kingfisher. One marine was cut down, dead in an instant, than another, and one more. They were almost there. A man in front of the chief was hit, but only wounded, he fell to earth. Chief picked him up, and threw him into the bunker. Give me cover ordered the chief. He said,
"Anderson, give me your explosives."
"Negative, sir, I'm coming with you." Replied Anderson.
"So be it, but you better run fast!"
"I'm coming with you, too!" Said Sergeant Major Polaris, Chief's 3rd in Command.

The Chief, Anderson, and Polaris made a run for the giant gun. They were dodging plasma like crazy. Just before they reached the gun, a Plasma laser caught Polaris. He was hit in the face. Polaris died within seconds. The Chief frantically took the explosives, when he too, took a shot in the chest. It knocked the wind out of him, but his MJOLNIR Armor kept him from sustaining injuries. He kept running. He threw the explosives at one support, ran then placed another, then another, until placing six. He and Anderson ran towards the bunker, the Marines cut down every alien that ran in front of the two. He kept running, but there was no energy left, before he fell, he hit the trigger. A loud explosion erupted and all went black. Anderson grabbed the Chief's arms and dragged him, feeling the supports give way, as the explosion grew bigger. It started to feel hot, when the explosion died down. Anderson was still dragging a 400-pound Spartan to the bunker. Crunching metal was heard as he can feel the Gun tipping over. He ran, and the screeching grew louder, he could see the Gun's shadow over take him.
"Almost there, Chief!" Murmured Anderson as he passed the Lieutenant's body.
"You did your duty good, Lieutenant, SIR!" Anderson also said, he then went down into the bunker, falling down the stairs. It felt like an earthquake, all settled, he looked up, all 22 Marines looked back.
"Thomas, call in that air strike, and get us home." Anderson said, trying to catch his breath. Marines tended to his wounds.
"Pelican Foxtrot 6-9 this is Sergeant Thomas, over."
"Roger Sergeant, good to hear from you." Said the voice over the radio.
"Pelican F 6-9, we need to get out of here, and call in that air strike, the gun is down, I repeat the gun is down."
"Roger that Fire Team Delta."
"Marines, we are leaving!" Yelled Thomas as he got out of the bunker. Sun pierced through the dust as he could see 20 or more bombers fly overhead. Two pelicans landed and they jumped aboard. They also made an unexpected stop along the way to pick up a lost Marine…

"Chief, Chief, your suit lost power." Said Johansson. They were inside a Pelican; the Chief looked out the back and saw the super gun, tipped over on its side and exploding from every panel. He smiled.
"Are we going home, Johansson?"
"Yes, sir" He said in a happy tone.
"We thought you died in the tunnel," Replied the Chief.
"Negative, sir. I blacked out, when I awoken, no one was there, later, though, the pelican picked me up!" The Chief gave a 'thumbs up' as the pelicans soared away. Johansson let out a smile; he too knew how grateful it was to be rescued.
