Mission Log 0930 hours: Delta Station: Barracks

Fugitive looks out his window, as clouds begin to envelope the city sky. Thunder from the storm releases a low rumble while the sounds of night fill the air. Fugitive turns and watches as his fellow teammates sleep. They've had a hard day training, and most of the men have retired early for the night. Fugitive looks back out the window scanning the night as vehicles move through the city below. Rain starts to fall on this sleepy city and Fugitive decides to rest on his bunk. As he lays on his back he stares up at the ceiling, sleep finally beginning to catch up with him. His eyes begin to close tightly the fatigue of the day finally overcoming his body. And just when everything started to go quiet, the alarm goes off. Lights start flashing and the siren starts shouting, the members of Phoenix Arisen all waking from their beds.

Fugitive: "Damn..."

Sims: "What's that?"

Quicksilver: "It's the alarm get dressed, we have to get to the briefing room."

Dawnbringer: "Why do they always have to wait till the middle of the night to call us?"

The men quickly throw on their uniforms and lace up their boots. Everyone is rushing, running out the door except Fugitive. He sits up on his bunk both hands on his face and looks down.

Fugitive: "Why me...?"

The men run up the hall and towards the briefing room, taking their seats while Butler goes about taking accountability from the front of the class. Mr Rax is on the radio in the corner taking notes, as the rest of the team rushes through the doorway followed by Fugitive who sleepily takes his seat at the back. Konflict walks up to Mr Rax and hands him a file. Mr Rax takes it and looks it over a second, before hanging up the radio. Konflict takes his seat and everyone waits as Mr Rax steps up to the podium reviewing his notes. Butler finishes checking off his list, with a nod.

Butler: "Everyone's here." "You can begin."

Mr Rax nods approvingly towards Butler and puts his notes down on the podium.

Mr Rax: "Good evening men." "Sorry to wake you, I know you had a very busy day with the Land Nav course and all, but we have a national emergency to take care of." It seems that a decommissioned testing facility in Chicago has been taken over, and there are hostages on site. "We've been tasked with the safe retrieval of the hostages." "I don't have all the information as of yet, but as soon as we hit the ground you'll get a full report." "Right now, we have two drop ships fueling up out of Transport Bay 1." "We're leaving in 20 minutes, so grab your gear and get moving." "We got a little bit of a ride ahead of us." "Fall out."

Mission Log 0945 hours: Delta Station: Transport Bay 1

Mechanics run back and forth busily fueling up the pelican drop ships and making sure all the diagnostic scanners are up and running. Steam comes up through the grates in the floor the bay alive with activity. A few officers stand by watching as the members of Phoenix Arisen secure their equipment into back of the drop ship cabin. Butler sits in the pelican cockpit, talking over the radio receiving more information about the upcoming mission. Mr Rax walks down the center runway spinning his hand in a circle above his head, towards the back of one of the pelicans.

Mr Rax: "Round it up!" "We're leaving in 2 minutes, everyone get aboard!"

The last remaining members of Phoenix Arisen take their seats in the back cabin, and wait still tired from the previous day. The pelicans close their back hatches, the cabin sleepily quiet. The bay doors open and with, a whine of their engines the pelicans catapult into the night.

Butler: "We have a little over 2 hours till we reach the drop zone so catch some sleep if you can." "We have an intelligence officer meeting us on site so we'll find out more of what's going on when we get there."

Sims and Quicksilver smile as they grab their rucksack and throw it next to them using it as a pillow, stretching out to catch a bit of the missed sleep they we're taken away from. Fugitive holds his sniper rifle between his legs and leans his head back on the wall behind him. His eyes close, and the cabin grows quiet, the only sound from the thunder of the storm outside.

Fugitive: "Finally...sleep..."

The pelican sweeps into the night, as rain falls on the city below.

Mission Log 1145 hours: Chicago Naval Yard: Helipad

The clouds seem to have followed the pelicans into the city. The drop ships hover downward onto the airstrip, landing on the dampened ground. The back hatches open as the pilots kill the engines the turbines slowly coming to a halt. The members of Phoenix Arisen file out into the rain as an officer in a parka pushes through the windy storm to meet them.

McAnthony: "Welcome I'm Lieutenant McAnthony." "I'll be leading you to the briefing area." "Follow me."

The lieutenant turns and walks through the rain, his parka flapping in the wind behind him. The members of Phoenix Arisen, pick up their gear and follow the lieutenant down the runway towards an air tower. At the edge of the airfield police officers stand guard at the gate, reporters anxiously trying to take pictures of the new arrivals. The lieutenant seeing the anarchy of the press shakes his head continuing into the lobby of the air tower.

McAnthony: "This incident has turned into a media frenzy." "It's bad enough we have to worry about the terrorists, much less some two bit reporter getting in the way." "Your not to mention anything to the press about the current situation." "We want a total media blackout." "If the people ever find out what is going on here the whole city would go into a state of mass hysteria."

The lieutenant leads them up the stairs, and into a large control room tower where a large man waits stands wearing an old worn trench coat. The man turns towards the team his badge reflecting brilliantly in the dim room.

Dawnbringer: "And exactly what is going on here?"

Captain McClain: "One of this cities worst nightmares... " "Sorry to have you come such a long way, but we need all the help we can get." "I'm Captain McClain." "It's good to have you with us." "At around 0130 this morning there was an attack on The Smithinsburg, one of our navy's shipping vessels which came into port after participating in a weapons research exercise from an undisclosed location." "It turns out that part of that exercise involved chemical research." "In particular B2101 a highly toxic nerve gas."

The members of Phoenix Arisen look nervously at one another a cold shutter developing in the pits of their stomachs. All goes quiet for a moment as the captain takes out a handkerchief and wipes the sweat from his forehead. The lieutenant shuffles his feet uncomfortably looking back at the members of Phoenix Arisen.

Pagemaster: "Nerve gas?"

McAnthony: "I'm afraid so..."

Captain McClain: "Now this group that hijacked the nerve gas case is also the same group that we've been investigating for illegal arms theft and trafficking." "When they made their attack on the vessel, we totaled 13 uniformed KIA's and 5 civilian casualties." "After the attack we've sent in a special investigations team to watch where they were headed and to whom they might be trying to sell the nerve gas to." "But unfortunately while we were tracking them through an area of downtown where we believe they were gonna try and sell the nerve gas to a potential buyer, they managed to spot one of our surveillance teams." "Once they found out we were on to them they panicked and began taking hostages." "After they escaped we've followed them to an old decommissioned robotic defense system testing facility." "We believe this to be their main area of operation." "Now that they know where they're based out of their leader, a man by the name of Gustav Grouller has begun making a number of demands." "His demands including 5 fueled choppers with safe passage to the border and 10 million dollars for him and his men, or he'll start executing the hostages." "And to make matters worse he's threatened to release the nerve gas if he sees us trying to send in any men." "As you can see we're in quite a predicament here." "Now we can't allow him to keep possession of that gas, and you know our policy concerning terrorist demands." "If that nerve gas were released we estimate a total of at least 500,000 dead with the initial blast, but if the winds we're to change it could affect as much as the entire north eastern seaboard." "Not to mention the hostages." "That's where you come in."

McAnthony: "We've set up barricades all around the testing facility, and the entire Chicago police department has taken position along all the major exits of the facility." "We can't chance a swat entry into the facility for fear of them being spotted before control over the nerve gas can be established." "Once the nerve gas is in our control, then we'll try and secure the hostages."

The members of Phoenix Arisen looked around at each other, the captain's words still echoing through their minds. As it became quiet the doors opened up behind them, a man in full tactical equipment with a long mustache walking up along side of the captain. The man was older with a shaved head and there was a very stern look about him.

Captain McClain: "This whole operation is based on stealth and with your units many awards and recognition we've selected you as our best candidate for this mission." "Now I'd like to introduce you to our swat team commander Sgt. Kerpatrick." "He'll be advising you on the current situation." "Go ahead Sergeant."

Sgt. Kerpatrick: "It's an open roofed domed facility." "There are two top floors to the site the top including four different zones used for receiving freight." "The bottom floor holds a number of roll up doors providing entrance to the base with an unfinished office section in the middle of the first floor." "There are staircases on opposite sides of the first floor leading up to the different zones with a number of gravity lifts for movement of the equipment used in the facility." "When this station was decommissioned they sealed a lot of the underground testing labs for safety reasons, but its possible that the terrorists opened them back up once they occupied the structure." "We have surveillance teams in the air looking down into the base and we think the terrorists are staying mostly in the top two sections of the structure." "They've set up two machine gun turrents on opposite sides of the second floor aiming down on the entrances to the base." "We believe the hostages to be located in two different areas." "One group under guard in Zone 4 on the second floor, and the other group tied up to the pillars in the middle on the first floor." "We have yet to locate the whereabouts of the nerve gas." "They have sentry's on the rooftops but we might be able to get a team in through the sky lights in Zone 1." "There's also an underground pipeline extending into the facility." "That should lead you up to Zone 4 right where the first set of hostages are being held." "That's probably the best your gonna get."

The room has grown hot now and the men look at each other uneasy. The only sound comes from the fan that lies at the opposite side of the room. A moment passes as Mr Rax turns and looks at his team thinking to himself for a moment. The team stands quietly awaiting their orders.

Mr Rax: "Alright here's the plan." "Butler you're leading Red Team through the skylight." "Konflict and Quicksilver are with you." "We need you to find that nerve gas." "Fugitive you'll be covering Blue Team." "As soon as Butler gives you the signal you, Sims, and Pagemaster are gonna get those hostages out of there through the underwater access way from Zone 4." "Once the first set of hostages are free we'll move in and secure the hostages on the first floor." "If anything goes wrong Dawnbringer and myself will be leading the strike team into the base." "I want a pelican on standby with static lines and web harnesses." "Dawnbringer, you're to take a few of the sergeant's men and hook them up and you'll be in charge of Gold Team." "If I give you the signal I want you rappelling down covering the ground floor and securing those hostages." "Stick to the shadows men." "Make me proud."

The members of Phoenix Arisen smile, as they split up to get ready for their different missions. Fugitive leads his men to the equipment cases they brought in and Butler begins going over weapons assignments as Mr Rax stands and watches his team, as they take on their individual assignments. Sgt Kerpatrick looks over at Mr Rax questioningly staring.

Sgt. Kerpatrick: "And exactly what will you be doing?"

Mr Rax turns around with a bright grin on his face staring back at the sergeant.

Mr Rax: "Show me to your Demolitions Team Sergeant."

Sgt Kerpatrick surprised turns and walks out the tower, Mr Rax and Dawnbringer following behind him. The clouds overhead float through the sky above dark and gray, as the wind blows and a low rumble of thunder crackles overhead.

Mission Log 0315 hours: Docks along side of the river: Drainage Tunnel

Rain starts to sprinkle once more as the wind howls the storm passing overhead. Fugitive looks out as the pelican soars over the river below. Pagemaster sits sharpening his blade to a surgical perfection as Sims notoriously wipes down his rifle. Fugitive looks at his teammates pleased with their careful attention to their equipment, and looks back over to the three additional swat team members who've been assigned to escort the hostages after Blue Team leads them out of Zone 4's underwater pipeline. Fugitive keys the mic on his radio, as they approach the entrance to the Drainage Tunnel.

Fugitive: "This is Blue Team leader, radio check over."

Mr Rax: "Blue Team leader this is base, read you loud and clear."

Fugitive: "Roger that." We're approaching the drop point now." "ETA 10 minutes to target."

Mr Rax: "Position confirmed." "Give' em hell men."

Fugitive: "Will do chief." "Blue Team leader out."

The drop ship slows down, the pilot hovering over the entrance to the pipeline. As they descend onto the hill along side the tunnel, Blue Team grabs their equipment cases and jumps down onto the hill the three swat team members following behind as they make their way towards the opening, the sound of water growing louder as they move into the mouth of the tunnel. Sims looks back at the swat team members as they make their way up through the sewers.

Sims: "Once we get the hostages out through the pipeline at Zone 4, it'll be up to the three of you to get the hostages back to the drop ship. After you take control over the hostages, we can turn around and head back in to finish the job."

Pagemaster: "We need to move fast." "Once the nerve gas is secure we won't have much time until they find the first set of hostages missing." "Let's just hope no guards decide to check in after we've made our exit."

Fugitive: "In any case the whole mission shouldn't take more than a few minutes after we get the green light from Red Team." "That is if everything goes right of course." "Just keep your ears and eyes open until then."

Swat Team Member 1: "Right."

Swat Team Member 2: "Don't worry we'll get' em out ok."

Swat Team Member 3: "You guys just watch out for yourselves ok?"

Sims: "We'll be fine."

Water runs quickly past their feet as they travel deeper into the tunnel. The six men walk steadily onward as, they disappear into the darkness beyond.

Mission Log 0320 hours: Foundation: Rooftops

Dark clouds pass steadily through the sky, casting a shadow over the facility, the light from the moon trapped behind the gray storm overhead. Red Team waits in a prone position as Butler holds his sniper Rifle up to his eye scanning the rooftop ahead. With the night vision attached to his scope he sees the enemy sentries as they walk along the sides of the rooftop passing between the different zones below. About 50 meters ahead of them lies the their target, the skylights into the base.

Butler: "There's so many..." "When I give you the signal the two of you double time." "If the enemy turns around you two drop back down." "I'll cover you..."

Konflict: "Ready."

Quicksilver: "Set."

Butler: "Go!"

Konflict and Quicksilver spring to their feet and start sprinting towards the skylight, wind rushing past them as they flew across the roof.

Butler: "Red Light!"

Konflict and Quicksilver dropped simultaneously back to the ground as an enemy guard turned towards their direction. Their hearts beat furiously as he inched closer, Butler's finger on his trigger tightening as the guard moved to no more than 10 feet from Konflict and Quicksilver's position. A moment that seemed a lifetime passed sweat building at their foreheads as the guard turned and started walking the other way.

Butler: "Green light!"

Konflict and Quicksilver jumped to their feet once more rushing to the top of the skylight before jumping into the base behind a small barrier their hearts feeling as if they're about to explode from their chest.

Butler: "Ok now my turn..."

Konflict and Quicksilver looked out from the top of the skylight, seeing the guard as he stared off away into the night.

Konflict: "Now!"

Butler jumped and in a blaze shot down the rooftop every muscle in his body pushing itself as hard as it could.

Quicksilver: "The guards turning!"
Butler pushed even harder as the wind rushed past him and leaped with all his might landing in the base of the skylight next to Quicksilver and Konflict.

Quicksilver: "I thought you said drop down if he turns around?"

Butler catching his breath rested his hand on Quicksilver's shoulder and patted his back saying...

Butler: "No, I said for you to drop down if he turned around."

Butler laughed to himself for a second as Quicksilver shrugged his shoulders shaking his head. Konflict looked down into Zone 1, as a group of enemy soldiers gathered in a circle below.

Konflict: "We have contacts."

Red Team watched as a tall dark man entered the room, the other men separating as he came into the circle.

Quicksilver: "That's their leader, what's his name."

Konflict: "Gustav..."

Quicksilver: "Right."

Butler: "More importantly look what he's carrying."

Red Team looked down and to his side Gustav set a container down before speaking to his men. Konflict gasped as his eyes widened.

Konflict: "The nerve gas..."

Butler: "This is Red Team leader, base come in."

Mr Rax: "This is base." "Go ahead Red 1."

Butler: "We have a positive identification of the target." "The package is being carried by Gustav himself now located in Zone 1."

Mr Rax: "Roger that." "Proceed with caution Red Team...Base out."

Gustav seemed most upset, his men silent as he raged.

Gustav: "Those damn police aren't good for anything!" "I gave them over six hours and they said they can't even get us the choppers here yet!" "I have a feeling their trying something..." "I want all the men brought up from the lower levels!" "It looks like we're gonna have to make our own way out!" "Nichols!"

Nichols: "Yes sir?!?"

Gustav: "Take this and wait at my warthog."

Nichols: "Yes sir!"

Nichols takes the nerve gas case and hurries out of the room, as Gustav turns back towards his men.

Gustav: "And for the rest of you, load up we're leaving this place!" "I want to take a few of the hostages with us as insurance. "Tie them up and stash them in the other jeep!" "Move out!"

The men quickly scatter as Gustav stops for a moment thinking to himself, a bad feeling overcoming him as Red Team watched from above. Gustav walked out of the room as two guards remained in the room standing against the sidewall.

Guard 1: "I think he's crazy." "We should just wait and maybe the police will really bring the choppers."

Guard 2: "Don't be ridiculous!" "The cops aren't letting us go anywhere." "We're trapped the only way we can get out is if we make a run for it."

Butler: "We have to take out those guards."

Quicksilver reached into his web pack and pulled out a small length of rope handing it over to Butler.

Quicksilver: "Here take this."

Butler: "What's this for?"

Quicksilver: "Just hold onto it for me." "Konflict you take out the guard on the left when I give you the signal."

Konflict: "What's the signal?"

Quicksilver: "You'll see..."

Quicksilver took the other end of the rope and tied it around his feet, holding on to the end of it with his heels. He stepped off the top of the skylight and suspended himself as Butler held onto the rope lowering him down. Quicksilver spun in the air so that he faced down above one of the guards, and pulled his knife from its sheath. Konflict stared at how his buddy lowered himself directly behind the guard. As the guard stood there motionless, Quicksilver grabbed him from behind, one hand over his mouth and cut his throat the guards body convulsing in shock. The second guard hearing his buddy in distress turned upwards and seeing Quicksilver dangling down, raised his rifle to fire, but instead caught a boot in the face as Konflict jumped down on top of him, smashing the butt of his shotgun onto the guards skull knocking him unconscious.

Konflict: "Zone 1 secure."

Quicksilver quickly unties himself, as Butler jumps down to cover the entrance to the room. Red Team in a room clearing formation moves out right of Zone 4 towards the staircase leading down. As they moved a sentry on the rooftop passed above them Red Team ducking down into the shadows. As they maneuvered down the stairs to the right stood soldier Nichols reading a magazine in front of the warthog he was supposed to be guarding.

Butler: "Look..." "He's the one who should have the package."

Nichols continued reading his magazine totally unaware of Red Team's presence moving slowly closer towards him. As he lowered his magazine to turn the page he found the barrel of Konflict's shotgun pointed at his forehead. Nichols froze dropping the magazine to the ground.

Nichols: No...Don't..."

Butler grabbed Nichols shoulder from behind and leaned in closer to his ear.

Butler: "You didn't say please..."

Nichol's eyes widened in fear, as Butler cracked Nichols in the back with the butt of his handgun dropping him to the floor beside him.

Quicksilver: "Guys...look what I found."

Quicksilver reached up over the warthog holding the nerve gas case a wide smile on his face. Butler kneeled to the ground and keyed his mic.

Butler: "This is Red 1, base come in over."

Mr Rax: "This is base go ahead Red 1."

Butler: "We have the package, Green light Blue Team..."
Mission Log 0335 hours: Foundation: Zone 4 Sewer Outlet

The members of Blue Team wait in the shadows underneath Zone 4, the three swat team members waiting back further down the tunnel. Pagemaster paced back and forth as Sims held his rifle close trying not to get his very special friend dirty. Fugitive looked at his watch as his headset began transmitting."

Mr Rax: "Blue 1 this is base." "Red Team has the package." "Green light to engage."

Fugitive: "Copy that base." "Blue Team moving in." "Blue 1 Out."
"Ok team let's go."

Pagemaster jumped down into the water under the metal grate leading up to Zone 4 and shot a silent harpoon that landed in the wall above him. Grabbing the line, he clipped it to his belt and pulled himself up until he reached the top of the pipe shaft. Sims clipped the rope to his belt and pulled himself up as Pagemaster pulled a mirror from his web belt and stuck it through a crack in the grating. Pagemaster turned the mirror and looking closely saw the outline of hostages in the dark room above. Sims pulled a mini laser torch from his case and handed it to Pagemaster.

Sims: "Here take this."

Pagemaster: "Thanks."

Pagemaster lit the torch, the sound barley a whisper in the wind, and began to cut the grating above them. Pagemaster lifted the cut grate and handed it down to Fugitive who placed it along side the tunnel.

Fugitive: "What do you see?"

Pagemaster pulled the mirror again out and scanned the room once more. Nothing moved above them.

Pagemaster: "I see the hostages but no sign of the enemy."

Fugitive: "Then move in."

Pagemaster reached upwards and pulled himself up into the dark room surrounded by hostages. The lights were broken above them and he could only see but a few inches in front of him. The hostages didn't move. They must have been exhausted through the ordeal as to where they were oblivious to Blue Teams entry.

Pagemaster: "Give me your hand."

Pagemaster reached down and pulled Sims upward into the room. Fugitive grabbed on to the line below and started to pull himself up as Sims held his rifle at the ready on the open doorway above. As Fugitive began to pull himself out of the tunnel a shadow moved past the doorway who held a flashlight.

Sims: "Enemy sighted."

Fugitive looked towards the doorway and dropped back into the whole below as Sims and Pagemaster took position behind some nearby crates as the flashlight scanned the room, the hostages moaning at the sudden brightness. A moment passed as the enemy soldier checked on the hostages and turned around heading back out the door. Sims started to move back towards the opening to the grate when a hostage gasped at seeing his presence.

Hostage 1: "(Gasp!)"

Sims: "Damn."

The enemy soldier turned around as another guard joined him coming back into the room. Sims ducked behind one of the hostages the flashlight passing just above him. The guard scanned back and forth and, right into Sims face, who crouched before him.

Sims: "Boo!"

Sims swung his rifle wide cracking the guard in the side of the head, the guard tumbling backward falling into the whole to the side. The other guard behind him raised his rifle to fire on Sims but was silenced by Pagemaster who promptly cut his throat from behind. The guard splashed into the water at the bottom of the tunnel. Trying to shake it off, the guard tried to stand, but instead saw the butt of a rifle again this time Fugitives knocking him back down for good.

Fugitive: "You ok up there?"

Sims: "Yes, that was a close one though."

Sims looked over to the dead guard in front of Pagemaster and nodded appreciatively.

Sims: "I owe you a beer."

Sims and Pagemaster laughed as they began to release the hostages, lowering them down to Fugitive who directed them down the tunnel below.

Mission Log 0340 hours: Foundation: Zone 2 Turrent

An enemy guard stands at his position the look of boredom clearly read in his eyes. He throws his rifle on his back the sling wrapping around his shoulder and sits on the edge of the balcony next to the 50 cal machine gun looking at the marvelous weapon. He runs his hand along the side of it and randomly looks over to the turrent on the opposite side. His buddy on the opposite side sits there shuffling a deck of cards obviously as enthused as himself. He looks back down at the weapon and stands back up closing his eyes reaching his hands back in the air and stretching his back yawning loudly as he smacks his lips with thirst.

Guard 3: "Damn I can't wait till I get back to a decent bar!"

The guard sits back down on the edge and looks back over, at the other turrent, his eyes widening with fear as he sees Quicksilver with his hand around his buddies mouth and a knife at his throat.

Guard 3: "Huh?" "Damn!"

The guard jumps behind the 50 cal and aims over at Quicksilver as he drops his fallen comrade to the ground dead. He puts his finger on the trigger, when out of nowhere Konflict cracks him in the head from behind, the guard dropping over top of the edge of the balcony landing on the floor below.

Konflict: "Turrents 1 and 2 Secure."

Mr Rax: "Roger that." "And where is the package now?"

Konflict: "Butler has it and is moving it to Blue Team's position."

Mission Log 0342 hours: Foundation: Zone 3 Staircase

Butler holds on to the Nerve Gas container with one hand his magnum in the other as he cautiously moves up the staircase towards Blue Team's position.

Quicksilver: "Red 1 this is Red 3." "Turrents neutralized." "You're clear to move forward over."

Butler: "Roger that Red 3, moving the package now."

Butler holds the case high as he climbs the stairs, holding his pistol at the ready. As he reaches the top of the stairs, he hears a movement behind him.

Gustav: "On the contrary I don't think your going anywhere."

Butler turns around to see Gustav behind him, the barrel of a pistol aimed at his chest. Gustav lets off a shot hitting Butler in his side knocking him onto his back, sprawled out on the ground before him.

Butler: "Damn...you...Gustav..."

Butler clutches at his side in pain as Gustav kicks Butler's pistol away from him and picks up the nerve gas case Gustav standing menacingly over him.

Gustav: "What did you think? "That you could just come into my home and take what's mine?" "All you bastards are the same."

Two enemy soldiers run up behind Gustav seeing Butler lying in front of him. They draw their weapons to fire waiting on Gustav's order. Gustav raises his hand shaking his head.

Gustav: "No!" "Bring him with me..."

Butler sighs in pain as the two soldiers pick him up and carry him down the stairs behind Gustav. Gustav points at a pillar along side of the wall and puts the nerve gas down at his side.

Gustav: "Put him there!"

The guards drag Butler over to the pillar and stand him up against it as Gustav draws his gun pointing it at Butler.

Gustav: "I told them not to send in any men or this is what happens." "What do you have to say for yourself?"

Butler distractingly clutches his side secretly keying his mic as he leans forward.

Butler: "You'll never get away with this."

Gustav's men all start coming out from the underground chambers circling Gustav all armed to the teeth, two of the enemy soldiers dragging two of the hostages behind them.

Gustav: "And who's gonna stop me you?" "Hahaha!" "Now you and all the hostages are gonna die." "Goodbye soldier boy."

Gustav raises his magnum and Butler closes his eyes in pain as a shot rings out and Butlers face splatters with blood and the pillar behind him. All goes quiet a moment for Butler as he frightenly opens his eyes to see a 14.5 mm round hole centered in Gustav's forehead. The enemy soldiers confused, looks around as Butler sees Fugitive crouched down behind the scope of his sniper rifle on the opposite balcony.

Fugitive: "Strike Teams!" "Move in now!" "GO! GO! GO!"

A pelican drops down from above, zip-lines falling down as Dawnbringer and the swat teams rappel down from above, sub-machine guns flaring. The enemy soldiers start firing back as the bay doors explode from outside swat team pouring in from all sides Mr Rax leading the assault. The enemy soldiers fall back abandoning the hostages, scattering wildly running for the warthogs. An enemy soldier jumps on the warthog turrent and sweeps the swat team officers hitting two of their men and pinning the rest down. Fugitive snipes the gunner, as Sims and Pagemaster jump over the balcony behind him firing down onto the enemy.

Mr Rax: "Surround them!" "Don't let them get away with the package!"

Butler looks down in front of him to see the nerve gas gone. He picks up Gustav's pistol and limps into the fight. Two enemy soldiers jump into the driver's seats of the warthogs and take off towards the open bay doors. One of the soldiers throws the nerve gas case into the passenger seat and jumps in shooting back at the strike teams. Butler fires hitting the passenger, as the warthog crashes through a bay door past the perimeter defense.

Butler: "They're getting away!"

Konflict stands shotgun in hand as the second warthog speeds towards him. As the warthog flies past Konflict jumps up over the hood and fires a slug hitting the driver in the head killing him instantly. The warthog careens out of the way and slams into a wall, water barrels flying every which way. Quicksilver runs over and pulls the dead guard out of the driver's seat, jumping in behind him. Dawnbringer seeing the crash runs over and jumps into the gunner seat.

Dawnbringer: "After him let's go!"

Quicksilver: "Right!"

Quicksilver spins the warthog the water barrels rolling out of the way, and then slams on the gas tearing through the bay door in hot pursuit. The enemy warthog flies down the streets ramming into the roadblocks the police setup earlier, the dead guard flying out of the vehicle as it pushed through the center of town.

Quicksilver: "You can't shoot at him or you might hit the nerve gas!" "I hope you got a plan."

Dawnbringer: "Just get me closer!"

Quicksilver ramps into the air along side the enemy warthog and Dawnbringer crawls out and over onto the hood crouching down as the wind rushes by.

Dawnbringer: "Closer!"

Quicksilver cuts the wheel sharply and slams into the other jeep Dawnbringer flying through the air landing on top of the other vehicle. The enemy guard reaches for Dawnbringer who tries to hold on from falling out. Dawnbringer loses his grip and falls holding on to the roll bar of the jeep as he pulls a grenade from his vest. Dawnbringer arms the grenade and lifting himself back up sticks the grenade to the guards face blinding him, as Dawnbringer grabs the case and jumps to the other warthog, the other vehicle exploding along side of them, flames shooting out into the air as Quicksilver jerks to a halt.

Dawnbringer: "Why is it every time I ride with you something always ends up blowing up?"

Quicksilver: "That was totally not even my fault this time!"

Dawnbringer: "Right...this time."

Quicksilver and Dawnbringer sit there laughing as the sun comes out above them. The storm had ended and it looks like it's to be another nice day. The clouds part as the birds sing their tune for the new morning to come. The sun shines down from above. Another day for Chicago, and another night for Phoenix Arisen.

To The Death!
