Chapter one: Garage space

On the edge of the world to those who lived on this planet, on a battleground torn apart by war, a place once known as New Rotterdam holds the key to the humans resistance to the covenant. This devastated city holds several secret underground military installations. This way the key city in the defense of earth, now it is under siege. It has been like this for days now, if not weeks. Marines are scattered over the ruins it holds. Brutes, grunts, jackals, drones and other New Covenant troops are searching it for the underground installations it holds, but the marines are a chain to the leg of progress for the covenant. Rebel elites hold both the brutes as the marines as their enemies, though knowing the marines fight the same enemy and hold the last high-tech defenses against the covenant. Just as a scout marine reported the engagement of a brute group toward one of the secret entrances to a underground militia base the sky went apocalyptic as hundreds of rebel drop pods terrorize the city, providing it with just as much sworded elites with plasma rifle's as backup weapon.

The attack came from a rebel elite ship slipping trough the covenants space fleet as one of their own. Earth is still in space war with the covenant, the planet being the center of battle, covenant space ships on the one side and unsc ships on the other side. As soon as those ships spotted activity in New Rotterdam, knowing the city would be in chaos among the old and new covenant they send in troops of their own. Not just any troops, there where spartan 3's, a good twenty of them. As the city would be in chaos war at the moment little ground forces would pay attention to the sky, and pelicans would have a fairly safe landing, so they took advantage of the chaos and spread the twenty Spartans over the city in groups of two, now the chaos battle would really begin.

The first pelican to land held two Spartans known as 166-Axim and 178-Kazama, two of the UNSC's finest Spartans. As the pelican's hatch opened up the two and ten marines went out of the pelican about to take of again and secured the surroundings. No enemies so far.

"This is one six six Axim, safe landing, area secure, what are my orders?" The spartan known as Axim said over intercom, it only took a few seconds for the spartan leading the operation to reply; "Axim, Kazama, i want you two and your squad to head to the marine underground base in sector five seven delta, your radar will be updated to the location in five." The spartan on the other side replied, it was clear that though the pods where precisely launched the elites and new covenant where in chaos war, the Spartans on the other hand where not at all, not for now at least.

Not a second after the command was given Axim gave th order to move out to the coördinates on the radar, the team took no risks and saw every Rolf top, every window, every ruin and every turn as one, aiming one weapon at every spot at least once. The first real turn they had to take was a problem, it was filled with wracked cars and many hiding spots.

"Kazama, what do you think?" Axim asked.

"I think, always follow your guts." Kazama replied with a tense voice, clearly with sharp eyes scanning the area every step of the way.

"Thats what you always say, how about a real opinion for once." Axim said, actually seeming to release some tensity, though still fully into the situation. Suddenly the sky went bright blue, clearly something up there had been blown up big time.

"John for Kazama, any update on the big bang?" Kazama asked over intercom, waiting for a reply, it took a little while.

"All units, Elite rebel ship has been blown up, debry might impact earth, no global killer alert, stay on the mission, John out." The head spartan reported to all involved units to the mission. Axim went up front and held his assault rifle ready. Suddenly the sound of a activating sword sounded really close by.

"Heads up!" Axim shouted as he noticed the ground at his feet, and the ground behind him brighten up in a glowing way. He duck while turning around, a sword held by a heatwave figure missed his diving head by a inch at most, his helmed was slightly burning from the plasma coming so close to it. As he was fully turned he opened fire with his assault rifle and purple blood came spattering out and dripping along the void.

"Woe ba wa!" Sounded as the sword aimed at the sky just before making another slash at Axim's head. Dodging the sword Axim pushed the figure back and it came to a Holt against Kazama's shotgun. Immediately Kazama fired, penetrating the figure with all the bullets, causing a major wound. The figure fell on its face as the stealth mechanism was damaged and it revealed a beat up Elite. It was still alive but the shotgun was lethal if not treated.

"Don't struggle, we won't kill you." Axim said with a calm and calming voice. Five minutes later Kazama and Axim dragged the elite into the underground base, the rest of their team behind them providing a safe drag trough the city, none of the marines where able to carry the elite with help from just one other marine, so the Spartans dragged him. As the marine was put down and a medical team was called in Axim looked around in disappointment, the last city to stand a defense and this low tech crampy basement was one of the leading bases? Though basement seemed to be the term for a mega size mall garage sized base Axim expected much more of it.

The entrance actually was a road down a normal size mall garage but it where the almost impossible to spot camera's all over the garage that made the stealth defense so strong, within seconds ten turrets would come out of the ground, marines on them and the entrance would open and marines would come out like a waterfall on its back. Walking trough the base Kazama was engaged by a marine walking a bit difficult, no wonder, he was carrying something like it use to be the turret of a warthog, but he knew all those designs and this was not one of them.

"Spartan... Sir, though this weapon is a bit heavy for marines to use, i would really like to introduce you to this beauty, the missile pod." The marine said, taking several speech timeouts to get the strength to hold it up and the last to move it toward Kazama's hands. Kazama took the gun and held it next to him like it was fairly lite.

"Instruct me." Kazama said calm while observing the weapons every details.

"It shoots up to 3 missiles at a time that have a fair homing toward anything large that moves, its speed is slightly above that of a spanker and the explosions are about just as deadly." The marine said, relaxing his arms.

"Is that all?" Kazama said, intrigued by this new toy to use in combat.

"No Sir, are you familiar with the Spartan lazer?" The marine asked.

"Its a Spartan Lazer, i got instructed the day the weapon went into fabrication, where there many made?"

"Enough on earth if we keep the same numbers on it, o and the warthog turret is adapted with a battery and a handle, it is now fully detachable and ready for non vehicle combat." The marine said, saluting Kazama and taking back the Missile pod to its rag, a whole bunch of them where on it. Kazama looked around and saw Axim talking to a high rank, the talk finished and Axim seemed like he had orders. Within a minute their team was outside again, Kazama carrying a missile pod on his back and Axim equipped with a bubble shield and the new sniper and assault rifle. Kazama also got hold of a fully charged plasma rifle and some of their marines got smg's, up-till now they had to do with the old assault rifles, their ship was outdated but as they returned to earth for a update they where caught up in the battle for it.

Now they where to meat up with five scorpion tanks and a whole bunch of marines along with a group of odst's to take over a location known to have a covenant base as its under attack by elites, it must have been a target of the rebel elites attack as they see the same value as the unsc does, a old but packed explosives warehouse in the center of the base. blowing it up was one way but taking its stash would proof highly useful as rocket warthogs and missile pods where the main supply next to frag grenades, in which the new covenant and the rebel elites brave began to see huge value in combat as they are simple to activate.
