the battle for Alana 1

Corporal Scott stepped off the Pelican drop ship and downed two grunts that weren?t looking with his pistol. His unit was selected for a flank on the covenant. The Pelicans had taken the long way around the battle and thru a mountain range to avoid detection. His unit was a special force?s unit, he had jacks of all trades all of them unique in their weapon preferences and excelled at those. He him self being a small arms specialist carried two frags, one incinerary grenade, two md12 pistols, the beefed up version of the md6 with more damage but less distance, extra ammo, one md6 with extra ammo and one smg with two extended clips.
All right troops this is how I want it, Delta split in to six sniper spotter teams; I want two on either flank, Felix the rest is your call Scott ordered. Delta donned their cammo after a little direction from Felix. As soon as the six teams of two hit the small thin alpine forest they disappeared. Bravo make an infantry box and advance slowly towards the covie line stop just out of sight youre the anvil so keep those heavies tight, going to need the fire power. Charlie Bravo listen up, Scott pulls out a map, Bravo I want you here in this clearing Charlie you need to be here on this small hill just north east of bravo its heavily forested and closer to the covies dig in and set remote mines from here to here. Bravo this is your line of retreat yes I know its back across the mines their remote for that very reason. Alpha youre with me, Ill set it up as I go. Move out troops. Scott signaled the pelicans to lift up and return to the battleship class cruiser the Avatar of Hope, the biggest ship ever made by us.
Alpha were going to take this by the numbers Stilton your on point. As soon as alpha made it to the small forest some thing felt wrong like something bad was going to happen no matter what he did. Scott shook it off no sense worrying. A gruff looking marine with 5-0-clock shadow and bulging muscles cocked his custom made rifle and stalked stealthily to take point. Scott still wondered how such a large man moved so quietly. Ok marines Bravo and Charlie are the anvil all we need to do is move the covies into it. Scott kind of went into his own mind and there was an A.I. he felt it in his mind and the actual chip in his brain. Eisenhower I want to know the closest covenant battle forces position and how to best engage them.
Ok accessing covenant battle net, up loading satellite pictures and UNSC high command on Alana. We have a large convoy moving about 200 meters north of Bravos position, the best way to deal with this is to make an L short part angling towards Bravo. Get that Scott whispered into his mic as he duck behind a tree for cover as his team slowly advanced forward. Twelve affirmatives were heard in his ear piece. Ill send your positions to the HUD on your helmet; I want radio silence from here on out call in when you?re in position. The group of marines split up as they moved slowly thru the forest. Fifteen minutes later Scott ran into a problem a covenant patrol was where he needed to be and coming right towards him
The wind was blowing up at him the jackals wont smell him as long as he is down wind. He thought of his options, grenades are too noisy along with his hand guns he thought bleakly; and with his knife he wouldn?t be able to take them both on. Then his decision was made for him when the jackals stepped out on either side of the tree he was crouched behind. He swiped out with his leg knocking one jackal to its feet as he planted his dagger into its temple it died screaming and with purple brain matter seeping on to the ground. At the same time he put a heavy lead slug into the other jackals head from his md12. The head burst like a melon showering a mix of blood, brains and bone everywhere and getting it all over Scott. But he didn?t stop to brush it of he was already twirling around shooting and issuing orders to the rest of his unit.

His double md12s decapitating an elite with two shots to its head which blew a part from the 50. cal slugs. The grunts startled when their leader died didnt respond fast enough when a frag grenade shredded their bodies into ribbons. Bravo, hit that convoy hard and retreat back to Charlies position and call for evac. Scott opened up a line to his squad mates Alpha I need you herrre he trailed off at what he saw through his scope.
Sir Mc Renner asked gruffly. Mc Renner was an old man tough as nails; he was bald with a white mustache attached to a small goatee. He had two prosthetic arms replacing ones that he lost in a fight with an elite with a power sword.
Mc Renner?s voice pulled Scott back to the present. Shit, Scott yelled out loud, ok all hells broken loose over here and the covenant have a trap waiting for the rest of the marines on Alana when they get here. Get over here were leaving for Charlies position evac should be waiting. Eisenhower inform high command that their walking into a trap. A constant blam, blam, blam was heard as Scott held off waves of grunts and jackals that attempted to kill him. Two minuets found Scott out of hand gun ammo and his smg in hand hiding behind a tree. A tap on the shoulder started him Kellcy raised her hands and Scott pulled his gun away when he saw it was her.
I thought you could use some help. She produced a grenade launcher and fired into and an advancing group of covenant. Wrrrrrrraaaaaaaaa the wail of a dieing elite was heard, a large group of about twenty grunts ran through the smoke of the grenade. Scott prepared to open fire even though his smg wouldnt be much help at that distance, a roar of a large machine gun echoed in Scotts ears. The gun that produced the roar also caused the grunts demise. Their small environment suits were ripped open and shredded just as easily as the flesh below. Blood splattered the ground with chunks of flesh and bone and just about every thing else, those that didnt die right away were twitching and thrashing. It was Mc Renner he had his box fed gataling gun that he was able to carry thanks to his replacement arms.
Corporal, the sound came thru the ear piece in Scotts helmet; were sending a air strike, supplies, a battalion of ODSTs, the rest of your platoon, your company and a Spartan. When they arrive Major Mike is to take command HQ over and out. An entire covenant battle force and all the brass sent was 1,200 ODSTs, 240 special forces and 1 Spartan vs. about 100,000 covenant ground troops with armor, and artillery support. In till the main battle force makes their way here were screwed. Wait Major Mike leading the attack, his companys commanding officer aka Mr. lucky is known for his luck and nonstandard tactics, the ODSTs resent him for this and that he was never lost a large engagement.
Just behind Mc Renner the rest of Alpha squad emerged from the trees weapons blazing. Corporal this is Mike our eta is about two minutes hold tight. Soon the sound of rolling thunder could be heard over the sound of fighting the rest of the battle force had arrived. The Pelicans opened fire with four HE Anvil IIs each. The missiles impacts blew apart the trenches covenant infantry was hiding in and destroyed the Shades as well as the tanks which had notches dug for them in hill sides. The large mounted chin guns on the Pelicans under side tore through the smoke searching for the covenant and met a wide success.
Meanwhile at the command post for the humans on Alana, pfc Brent walked in to the war room. General Easley sir, more covenant ships have arrived in system and jumped back out before we could swing the Super Macs around destroy them.
And why do I need to know this son the General asked gruffly. If they came and when just as fast why should it matter.
Well they sent more drop ships down to the planet, to eliminate the generators for the Super Macs I suppose. Brent said if a little bit unsure of him self this time.
Bring the Super Mac?s against the drop ships, Easley commanded, ?and bring up a video feed. A monitor blinked on showing covenant drops ships inbound when one of them simply blew in to pieces, the debris caused another to erupt in flames. Then more of the drop ships were hit by speeding chunks of metal as big as trash cans that were breaking the sound barrier. The drop ships were smashed as easily as if they were tin foil. When the drop ships were close to the atmosphere Easley ordered the Macs back to looking for more incoming covenant capital ships and to conserve ammo. Of the hundred ships that the covies left to make a run on the planet only twenty-one made it

Back in the field Scott watched as the marines got off the 120 some drop ships that it took take them all here. He watched some marines from Mikes alpha platoon get off of their pelican; he had seen these men before on many, many occasions they were from the company he was from commanded by Mike. These marines bore special markings. By the time all the marines and ODSTs had gotten off their ships a perimeter had been established they were ready push forward. When the air strike that had been promised was delivered, the humans had time to get orderly and ready to move out. This is when the marines that Scott saw previously pulled out their rockets launchers more commonly known as jack hammers and fired a special rocket called an inferno. Scott followed their cotton trails down; they were three feet away from the enemy when they burst apart. From the rockets sprayed napalm covering every thing. Grunts, jackals, elites, and hunters alike ran around screaming as flesh was burned off the bone. The running aliens set others on fire and panic and flames spread like a virus. Then smarter more intelligent elites caught on to what was happening and began kill those on fire and any ill-fated enough to be close to ones on fire. During the moment of crisis the humans closed on the covenant. Sniper fire was heard in one loud volley tearing through the covenant ranks. Scott zoomed in with his pistols on a grunt closest to him, a near by elite had its brains blown through the back of its head by a sniper. Bam the grunt dropped like a rock, Scott pivoted and pumped two rounds into a jackal about to fire on some marines the bullets easily ripped the soft flesh. An ODST next to him was hit in the face by some plasma bolts when he fell his face was a burnt crater in his head. Scotts pistols fired rounds into a group of covenant advancing on the humans. Jackals were out front providing protection with their shields for the grunts and elites behind. Bullets found gaps where there were no shields a spray of blood marked when a jackals head had come off when it neck was wreaked by 50. cal slugs it veins spurting blood on its comrades. That when a few shotgun blasts from someone took them apart and what ever was left fell to Scott. Scott watched as a group of ODSTs were eradicated from a fuel rod cannon blast from a leviathan of a hunter that in turn died from a rocket. Taking cover be hind a rock Mr. lucky issued a few short orders and then turned to put a blast from his battle rifle into a elite before going back to issue orders as he reloaded.
Filthy excuse for life forms, Mike thought, go get another race to play with were here to stay. Several years ago humans thought they were alone in the universe in till the covenant showed up saying our destruction was the will of the gods. He unloaded an entire clip in an elite it fell with entails falling from its mangled chest. Thats when he heard a deep rumbling and a sudden increase in the sounds of human weapons, the rest of the division had arrived. The covenant had already thrown their weight in our direction, where they were expecting to lay a trap instead they got caught in one. Mike turned and opened fire on a group of grunts killing them all swiftly. To his right he saw the Spartan stoic and unrecognizable, face less. Who ever that is hes one hell of a solider Mike thought. A scorpion crashed thru the edge of the forest unloading on the covenant, with bodies flying every where they died quickly.
Shic-chic, the sound of a shotgun loading next to him startled Scott next to him was a fellow marine, Lance a another platoon commander in the same company as Scott. He leveled his shot gun to an elites head and fired the pellets made its shields flare when a second blast flayed off flesh that left the elite faceless. A small group of grunts screamed as they died their corpses flying through the air in wild arcs. The only parts of them that were left were small pieces of their armor and various limbs that lay strewn about. Nice grenade lance, said Scott amazed
