Chapter 1
Silent Slaughter
It was a hard time in these kinds of days, wars everywhere, bombs exploding, gunshots ringing in the air, and blood stained the pearl white snow. Bodies lay everywhere. Your could smell the carnage. There were traces of a battle here. Some covenant bodies lay on the ground in pools of blood, And marines were also scattered about the place. The master chief walked forward slowly and carefully, to not make any noise. As he came to the entrance of the cave, he heard hunters patrolling the area. Their metal armor could be heard for at least a hundred feet. How could they possible move in that much armor the chief wondered?

He backed up against the wall at the entrance of the cave. His heart was beating to the movement of the patrolling hunters. One wrong move and it could mean death. A green glow was seen upon the white snow in front of him. His heart beat faster by the second as he heard the massive plasma guns charging up. The chief knew his next move could mean life or death. He saw a small rock at the corner of the cave entrance. He slowly crept up and kicked the rock hard enough that it went to the other side. The chief heard the hunters turn immediately. The white snow in the exact place of the rock completely disappeared. The rock was gone, and all was left was a green glow on the ground.

He heard the hunters coming closer. The chief put away his rifle and unholstered his pistol. He loaded it with 1 clip of ammo. And backed up against the wall again.

As the hunter rounded the caves edge the chief slowly got to the ground and buried himself in the slow. He saw the hunter start to walk toward him, but the chief dared not to move. As the hunter neared him the chief took out his silencer and attached it to his pistol, for that if the other hunter heard him it would come and help the first hunter.

The hunters have much instinct and they can feel enemy presence with just a slight clue. The chief zoomed in on the hunters neck, he cold feel the cold trigger on his finger. As the hunter took another step the chief pulled the trigger. The hunter fell backwards quite quietly into the soft powdery snow. The chief got up from the snow and put his pistol away.

As he brushed off the snow from his suit, he heard the quiet footsteps of something unfamiliar. What could it be he asked himself? It couldnt be one of the covenants. The chief could not hear the second hunter anymore either? This confused the master chief. Since there seemed like there was no danger the chief slowly started to walk forward. As he entered the cave he saw the hunter dead on the cave floor.

Chapter 2 Fate

The master chief walked up to the hunter and examined it. Its torso was torn into shreds, and the blood was still fresh. The odd thing though was that there was a faint red glow coming from its stomach. The chief wondered if there was something else on halo other than the covenant.

The chief continued to walk on into the cave. After some time of walking he heard someone else's footsteps. They seemed like they were getting closer. The chief spotted a small hole in the cave and hid in it. He waited there for what seemed hours, yet was really only seconds. The footsteps passed him yet there was no body to be seen, and he saw no tracks. He started to smell something strange. His feet started to get warmer. He looked down. He jumped back in surprise. In front of him was what was left of a human. All it was was just pure flesh. No bones what so ever. The flesh belonged to one of his comrades from the look of the face, well at least what was left of it.

The chief felt a sharp pain in his neck, and felt the warm blood drip down his neck. The chief tried to look back but could no move his head. The pain was too much to bear. What had had happened to him. He wanted to just fall to the floor but something was keeping him up.

Do you care to join the others said a deep cold voice. I know what you came here for, but I'm sorry you wont be alive long enough to accomplish that. Said the voice again. Allow me to introduce myself it said. My name is Slice man, Many don't know of my kind, for that we remain in the shadows, unseen.

The chiefs body dropped to the floor. A figure emerged from the shadows. As you saw on your way in, they too will soon be one of me, just as you will. The chief looked up, with what little strength he had left, he could feel the blood flowing out from the wound in his neck He saw a distinct figure standing in front of him. It was human shaped except for the claw shaped fingers it had. It had hair down to its waist. The chief couldn't make out the face. It stood about six feet tall.

The chief could not see much anymore. The figure walked up to him. Let me do a favor and get rid of your pain said the figure. The chief was no longer conscious, and was dragged off by the figure.
