Linda's Childhood part2
Date: 31 May 2006, 3:16 pm

***This is something I had been thinking about for a while, and I think it fits Linda best. This is my version of linda's first encounter with danger (pre fall of reach).***

Linda turned over in her bed and gazed into the holographic clock on the nightstand. The clock's light blue glow displayed 11:43pm. Linda rolled back over and looked out her bedroom window. She had been alone now for about 8 hours, not that it bothered her, infact she had always enjoyed the peace and quiet of an empty house.

She looked out the window at the streetlight that sent a glow into her room on dark nights. She had always felt at peace when her eyes were filled with it's glow.

Linda gave a crack of a smile and then it quickly faded. She saw headlights of a van pulling up into her driveway. She got out of bed and walked over to the window without making a sound. Moving one finger inbetween two of the plastic sections in the blinds so that she could see.

Two men in black steped out of the unmarked van. The one on the left, slightly taller, walked to the back of the van and stayed there for a moment and then said a few quick words to the other man and then got into the back of the van.

Linda quickly realized what was going on. The man walked up to the front door and cuped his hands over the glass and looked inside. With his right hand he grabed a small tool from his back pocket. Linda, who was now on the floor looking over the edge of the railing on the second story. She began to slowly back up. She kept in a crouch position with both feet on the floor along with one hand. She used here free hand to find something-anything.

She found behind her right foot a 10 pound free weight. She Grasped it in both hands like the handle to a baseball bat. LInda stood up and placed her back against the wall without making a sound, and she waited.

The front door poped open with a light squeek. The man took two speeps inside and looked arround. It seemed to be his first priorty was to check for what could be taken that was worth the most. So he started a quick walkthrough of the home. He walked directly from the entryway to the stares.

At the top of the stares he entered one of the bedrooms, looked arround quickly, and the closed the door. He then unknowingly walked into the bathroom next. His reflection in the mirror startled him. He quickly closed the bathroom door aswell.

Linda tightened her grip as she saw his shadow entering the room. Time seemed to slow, her focus on the shadow became soo exreme that all other sences seems to be blocked out. She could hear nothing except her heart. A drop of sweat rolled down her forehead and fell to the weight in her hands. She lifted her left leg and leaned arround the corner already in a full swing and she slammed the weight into the left side of the mans skull crushing it inward. His feet came off the ground from the extreme ammount force. When he hit the ground all his muscles seemed to tighten and with a shock, and then relaxed.

Linda walked back into her room and grabed a leather belt. She tightened it arround his neck and stood on his upper back and pulled as hard as she could. There was a quiet pop, and then no other sound was made. The limp body fell to the floor withought struggle.

Her eyes shifted to the doorway when she heard the van's engine turn off. She ran down to the kitchen as fast as she possibly could. She grabed a steak knife and ran out the back door without making a sound. She paused and noticed she had been holding her breath and she tryed to calm herself down. One quiet deep breath is all it took and her nerves calmed. She looked arround the edge of the house, all clear. She ran quickly in the darkness and took cover behind a small bush. From here she could see the remaining target. This one had a gun.

She waited for him to walk into the doorway, and she ran after him still withought making a single sound. She caught up to him as he was looking inside the house cautiously. His Left hand grasped the door while the right hand held the gun. His left leg was inside the house and his right leg still outside.

Linda knew she needed to atack, and atack fast while she still had this position behind him. She slammed the knife into the lower back half of this right leg and pulled the blade back tward her, tearing his gastrocnemis and achilles tendon in one ripping slice.

He screamed in pain and fell to the floor. He squeezed the trigger and a three-shot birst came out and all 3 hit the wall to his right. Linda slammed her knee into the mans right wrist breaking both his radius and ulna in his arm. Linda grabed the man's hair and held this head up and looked into his eyes and said "Nobody will ever catch me off gaurd". And with that she slid the knife into his jugular.
