DISCLAIMER THING!: This is my first ever Fan Fiction anywhere about anything. So dont be surprised if its not the best. This story will be about the Adventures of a Grunt and ODST Marine. The ODST does not appear in this Chapter. Thats All Im Telling. Just read.

     Chapter One: GawGap.
Gawgap, a grunt lied within the sentinel wall, His mission, to bring down the shields to The Index, a Sacred Key. This sacred icon's purpose was to unlock the Halo he was on and send him and the other covenant on to the goal of their Great Journey. Gawgap was honored to do this mission, he was only a Red Grunt, and HE got to greatly advance their Great Journey, All he had to do was survive with the rest of his party members so they could set down the very gate that kept the Index from being taken.

Gawgap was a bit different from most grunts, Gawgap had a very strong right arm and he had alot of sense and bravery. This right arm helped him fire more rapid and accurate from other grunts because the recoil wasn't as strong to him. This arm wasn't just a advantage to him, but to his brothers of the covenant. Back on the now gone Human Planet Reach, Gawgap managed to save a injured Ultra ranked elite from a hole punched into the bottom of a covenant ship that was being evacuated. If it weren't for GawGap that elite would have fell to his death. GawGap managed to pull this elite from out of the hole, dragged him all the way to the grav lift for a safe landing, and to medical attention. That elite is now the Spec-Ops Commander.

Returning to preset time, our Hero was fighting off what seemed like a endless amount of sentinels. The sentinels came out many at a time and were easy to beat but they kept coming. The sentinels managed to kill of all the brutes, because they believed they were the bigger threat, they were wrong. The Arbiter and a grunt named Herbie came sliding down from a piston. "Do as I do to these spawn points!", quickly shouted The Arbiter as he threw plasma grenades with great aim, he stuck each one of these ports the sentinels came from and watched them all explode one after another. Gawgap rubbed the back of his head, "Why didn't we think of that?"

The Arbiter, Gawgap, Herbie, two grunts, and two jackals made there way down the levels, with little trouble, and found another grunt. The party stopped to pick up fresh ammo, equip some more powerful weapons, and take a small break. Arbiter set his hand on the glyph that opened the piston "I feel like there's going to be alot of trouble ahead."

Everyone took a deep breath pumping themselves up for what was to be ahead. Regardless of their fear they were ready.

"Check your needler and carbine clips, and keep plasma pistols charged up." The Arbiter ordered.

The arbiter gave them the hand signal to stay back, he activated his active camo to take a look. The same beast he saw when he got to the wall was here. Gawgap saw the machine's giant Shield, it looked like a giant jackal's shield. He released his plasma pistol's held trigger with his aim on the Shield. The behemoths left shield gave out in a flash just like a jackal shield. Gawgap's friends caught on to the idea and rained fire on the unshielded beast from different angles across the large room. They all met up in the center platform while The Arbiter activated the other glyphs. As soon as the center panel was activated the platform shook and moved towards the door.

"That wasn't so bad! Now was it Arbiter?" Gawgap said.

"No It wasn't, but I still have that bad feeling"

"Well we have got back up!" Gawgap shouted, watching the incoming phantom.

Ahead large double doors opened revealing every human or covenant's worst nightmare. Gawgap was stunned, he fell back to the ramp, but back came to continuousness. There it was, The flood, they do exactly as their name implies. Phantom fire was hitting what ever it could to help, it also drew the Enforcer Sentinels away. Gawgap was taught how to combat these creatures, Human weapons.

"Take care of the armorless forms, I got the heavy ones!"The arbiter shouted.

The Arbiter was dual wielding a "SMG" and a plasma rifle. Since Gawgap was able to dual wield, unlike most grunts, he picked up the same weapon combo as Arbiter. Battle raged for an amount of unknown time. While Gawgap was reloading and letting his plasma rifle cool he saw two of his grunt comrades fall to their death, or were they already dead? He didn't know and didn't have time to find out because a flood form was about to swing at him with its huge deformed arm. The creature spun in the air in hopes of making its hit be more forceful. Right before the monster could face front to Gawgap a battle rifle shot hit the infection form that controlled the body. Right before Gawgap could thank the jackal who fired that saving shot, a combat form pounded the jackal's frail spine, killing him. The arbiter finished the creature off,

"THAT was the bad feeling", the Arbiter said while breathing heavily.

Fighting finally ended in this room. One Jackal, Herbie, the Arbiter, and Gawgap remained. Sentinel wreckage, infected flood bodies, a jackal's corpse, and a load human weapons littered the floor. Since most of the weapons were human ones they took what ammo they could carry and picked up marine supplies belts. It felt odd using the enemies items but they wouldn't get through with only bear hands and worn out covenant weapons. Before leaving the ones who remained alive took the jackals bodies and hid it in a unused port in which sentinels usually came out of, The arbiter took off the dead warrior's wrist band which generated a shield and handed it to GawGap. "Im sure that's what he would have wanted..." the arbiter said gently. Gawgap accepted and equipped the band. Over top of the button which activated the shield GawGap noticed a name, "Ki-az". "Thank you, Ki-az.", Gawgup said quietly.

Part 2: Friends, Familiar and New.
Herbie, Gawgap, and the jackal were scared to death, they peered around every possable place they thought the parasite could jump out from and held their guns tightly and closely. Even if they were afraid to advance, they knew staying here wasn't safe they had to at least TRY to get out of this grey, digusting hell. The remaining warriors made their way through the spore filled interior in which the freaks had been coming from. Flood odor and spores clogged the air, making even one as strong as the Arbiter gag. They activated their Active camo, which wasn't used as much as the Spec-Ops or Osoona's. As soon as they found another piston and went down it thier invisibility gave out making the party become visible.

There was more than enough sentinels and flood around to keep each other occupied enough to ignore the fleeing covenant soldiers. Weaponless flood tried despritaely to knock down the robots, but the setinals had a height advantage. not even the flood could jump too, there was a use for making the building so tall. Each time the covenant group came out a piston they activated the camo until the got to the next. Along the way The Arbiter picked up a Sword, Gawgap also picked one up, deactivated it and put in his pirated belt.Incase The Arbiter's sword gave out.

After one final slide down they made it out doors. Finally, the curse of the stench was gone, and replaced with snowflakes gentally raining down. There weren't many flood forms nearby so they were easy to take out.Post battle, Gawgap, looked overhead to see an incalcuable number of stars and the other part of the interior of the ring fit with clouds, water, and land. An extremly bright light from a structure ahead lit up a fraction of the sky looking like a sunset. Gawgap was amazed that he could see such a beautful site on the same place that carried the lifeform he hated most. Soon after his daydreaming, the grunt noticed what seemed like meteors raining from the sky. A few Elite HEVs fell from the sky, some landed across the bridge ahead. Two Sanghelli warriors unfolded themself from the pod. The pair of new guys took a look around holstered their plasma rifles by their side, so they could pick up a nearby plasma sword and rocket launcher from dead flood. Up ahead a two more Elites were being chased by a deprate balloon like creature. The flood carrier type detonated itself, blowing the behind elite and the infection forms off into the foggy abyss below.

"Curses, if only we landed over on this side...." said, Meso'lee, the sangheili that made it across the bridge.

Another group of flood were trying to cross the bridge, Meso'lee shot a stray frag grenade with his plasma rifle which detonated and blew the group of flood to the cliffs side like toys. Meso'lee sniped the few flood who remained on the other side, then took control of a plasma turret that was stationed infront of a tunnel, this allowed him to keep fire inside of the tunnel and wait for the mindless bastards to run through.

After a minute or two everyone pushed on through a covenant-held territory with a few plasma turrets and a sniping tower. The Arbiter, the jackal, and Gawgap kept an eye on where the flood came from so they could keep the snipers, rockets, and fuel rods from harming the turrets with its seemingly infinite ammunition. Gawgap's eyes widened, he recognized one of the elites on the stationary guns, it was Spec-Ops Commander! Battle was quite Easy as fire was kept on the wholes in the ground which flood climbed up. Spec-Ops commander proceeded to talk with the arbiter, prep up his warriors for another round of fighting, then noticed GawGap.

"GawGap, is that you?", the commander asked

"Yes, Excellency! I'm glad you recognize me!" replied GawGap.

"How could I forget such a grunt as brave and strong as you?You even managed to make it through all this! The Arbiter is rather pleased with you as I was long ago."

" Well if it weren't for The Arbiter and Ki-Az..."

"Ki-Az?", The commander asked.

"Yes, he was a jackal who saved me from a combat form that could have easily killed me, but Ki-Az died as soon as he saved me."

"I see... Well we spotted alot of vehicles and heavy fighting ahead, Gawgap, I want you to come with me than I will transfer you to a Safer Phantom, because I will be assisting The Arbiter. Bring that grunt and Jackal too." Commander replied.

"Thank you Excellency!" GawGap cheerfully replied.

GawGap's group gathered in the DropShip, leaving the elites to do the dirty vehicle work. He was surprised himself and the others managed to live through all this mess. It wasnt long until the "Safer Phantom" came to pick them up. With in a minute after departure a Human dropship was spotted.

"Enemy Pelican ahead, opening fire" The driver shouted.

Both Dropships were taking a good beating from plasma and lead.

"So much for Safe Phantom!" Gawgap's unggoy friend shouted.

" We need to flee, this is the human's higher class Pelican, this one has explosives equipped that will give them a upper hand in our weakened state." The copilot yelled.

The Phantom fled, but not fast enough. Gawgap looked through the display for the backside and saw the explosives tracking them.

"Damn"

What little lighting the Phantom had flashed on and off, The floor moved wildly, the ship was falling. Gawgap held onto a rail, watching everyone else's bodies being thrown wildly around like balls. When the ship stopped he could barely see anything, he asked if anyone was able to hear him but he received no reply. For a few minutes Gawgap was feeling around for bodies, what he did find, didn't move. Using a Charged plasma pistol, Gawgap got a little light to light the Dropship's interior up, the rest of the crew was dead. He picked up what weapons he saw, and exited the Phantom with them; 1 Fuel Rod Cannon with little ammo, 6 plasma pistols, 2 plasma rifles, 2 brute plasma rifles, 1 SMG, 3 magnums, 1 rocket launcher, and a plasma sword. In the distance Gawgap saw the Spectre his Phantom was carrying. He hoped to the forerunner that the vehicle was intact so he wouldn't have to walk and he could bring his mini-armory with him too. From what Gawgap inspected the turret was broken, there were scratches but the spectre ran as smooth as ice, thankfully the driver's hatch was able to close and open to provide cover from enemy fire. The sky above didnt look so beautiful anymore.

"Thank you forerunner, for getting me this far", said Gawgap while taking the Spectre to the Phantom wreckage.

Using an emergency rope from the phantom, Gawgap managed to secure the weapons and he went on his way into the the ruins of a some odd burning structure by exploring from the top of the cliff so he wouldn't have to deal with the flood. Two flood managed to be at top, and tried to hijack his vehicle, Gawgap boosted his vehicle away out of fear and landed inside the burning structure. Gawgap panicked, but found a odd hole overhead, big enough for a human to get in, it would make a great hiding spot since the end of the tunnel wasnt big enough to drive a spectre over. Quickly, Gawgap activated active camo, threw all his weapons into the hole, climbed uptop his spectre, and was able to catch the rim of the hole with his strong arm to pull himself up. The area was bright from the fire but it made it was rather hot. Sounds of lasers and gun fire was heard all around.

"I have got to be the luckiest and unluckiest grunt ever." GawGap though to himself as he watched the entrance to his spot.

Not too far from where Gawgap was the pelican that had attcked him was about to be toast. A young humorius ODST Marine name Devin was inside of the pelican watching a Warthog below try shooting them down. This warthog didn't have Humans in it , it was controlled by elites, not just any elites either. Down below Meso'lee was operating the LAAG while The Arbiter was driving, and the Spec-Ops Commander was holding a rocket launcher in the side seat.

"Careful! The white armored Bastard in the site seat has a rocket launcher. That thing could be the end of us with the damage the chain gun and the Phantom we met before gave us!" shouted Devin.

"Well why aint he using ......" Before the marine could finish the sentence the Pelican dropped down into a hill, like a rock to the bottom of the sea. Everyone in there banged their heads against the top and sides of the inner part of the pelican. Devin, being the only one with a helmet because of his ODST uniform survived the impact but got hit pretty badly in his head which knocked out the HUD. The inside of the pelican dropship was filled with blood from everyone else. Their bodies just laid there, dead. Red covered the cargo bay's metallic walls.

"Ha, these human weapons are not as bad as the Prophets say they are! Now lets make our way to that structure!" Spec-Ops commander shouted cheerfully. The Arbiter drove off into a big brown door and ignored the vehicleless flood that manned a quad of turrets.

Devin checked the equipment in the pelican which was knocked out, made his way out the Crashed Pelican and grabbed his sniper rifle, plasma pistol, magnum, and shotgun and sneaked his way to the burning structure. There was no way he could make it through the flood controlled turrets the arbiter had easily driven through with his shields, so he decided to find shelter the other way. Sniping wouldnt have helped either, he was too shaky to aim dead on. The flood turned their turrets to the pelican but assumed the human bodies would be usless after such a crash. A few minutes down the way the marine was being chased by three flood, he managed to kill them off by luring the idiots around a corner to meet the shotgun. He needed a hiding place he made it to around where GawGap was, saw more flood surrounding both ways in and out of the tunnel. Devin spotted the same hole Gawgap was in and tried to jump onto it, peaking his head into the whole he saw a red figure.

"Hey lil guy HELP! HELP!"

The figure quickly pulled the human up forgeting that it was, in ways, still an enemy. Gawgap picked up his fuel rod cannon and fired to the opening after Devin got out of the way. After 2 shots from the heavy weapon Devin peaked over and saw the group flood burned to death and the spectre rising in blue flames.

Devin then looked the small warrior in the eye. "I cant believe Im saying this, but....Thank you..."

"I cant believe me did that either. But Flood more heartless than humans." Gawgap said as he looked down.

"HEARTLESS?! You and your stupid alien allies GLASSED one of OUR PLANETS! And for what? A small CRYSTAL!" the ODST shouted with his fist balled up. "And weren't Your kind FORCED into the covenant?! "

Gawgap took a moment to think, "The Prophets said you all were evil because you try to keep covenant from getting Forerunner relic. Then you humans destroy other Holy Forerunner thing, Halo."

Devin took a deep breath. "We didn't know anything about you lousy crystal until much later and Halo was destroyed because of those fucking monsters that are making us hide up here! Imagine If That ring wasnt destroyed Earth and your stupid planets would be full of them flood. Anyways, we need to get out of here Fast, more of them may come."

The Grunt stood on his feet,"You make good point, me only know mostly what I was taught. And about going.... we should steal vehicle!"

The odd pair of fighters gathered their weapons and headed out. Thankfully, The Arbiter's group came through before Devin and GawGap got here, so alot of the flood were dead, but not all of them. Devin checked his surroundings and went deeper into the ruins. He and the grunt crept past setinals who flood who were busy destroying one another. Gawgap waved the human over and pointed at a odd warthog. Before Devin made his was to it he eyed Gawgap to ask him something, "How much of our kind of technology do you know how to use?"

"Human guns, rocket launcher, turrets, and warthog. Grunts only taught how to use human guns for emergency, and elite teach me how to drive warthog on Reach when we tried to escape the planet." Gawgap replied. he eyed the vehicle and tilted his head to the side, "Why does this one look so different?"

Devin set his hand on the hood, "This is a different varient of the warthog. Usually we use one kind, called the M12G1 LAAV warthog. But over the years more new ones have been developed. This warthog is mainly made to drive terrain like snow. Also the rocket turret is powerful. But takes a long time to load and has limited ammo."Devin put their weapons in the vehicle's side seat and, lowered the turret a bit.
"Which seat?"

The grunt hopped behind the drivers seat and lowered the hog's hatch.

"This one. Since I need better protection and I am to short for the turret."

The ODST solider signed as held the turret's handle to pull himself up. "Fine...."
"Its going to be a little hard to aim with out my HUD. Hey Grunt! You know how to use the motion tracker?!"

"Yeah, there is somethin on out left!" yelled the grunt.

Surely enough he was right. Devin swivled the turret around and shot a tight group of combat forms straight on. Gawgap put the vehicle in cruse control since pedals where out of his reach. He shifted his small eyes to the motion tracker and looked out the window from time to time.

"Youre pretty good with drving this." Devin shouted over the explosion of rocket that had killed a infested Ghost.

"Yes I know..... SCROPION! Ahead!" Gawgap cried out as he moved behind a cliffs corner. The tank fired its cannon at the cliff, large chuncks of rocks chipped off above the light vehicle's head.

"GAWGAP! MOVE! Devin yelled.

Part 3: Relief.
      "GAWGAP! MOVE!" Devin yelled.
The large rock missed the vehicle's bumper by a foot. If it were to hit Devin it could make him loose cautiousness.

"Lets wait for it to come to us. These small tunnels can give us some good cover. When I shoot make sure this thing is behind the rocks. Im going to need to shoot dead on the cantapede." said the human.

"Got it." said Gawgap as he pulled the vehicle up to a small tunnel.

The tank came around the corner to find them, it had it's turret looking in the opposite directionm to the small vehicle, scanning for them well hidden vehicle. Hastely the cannon turned around, the ODST fired a rocket as it hit one of the treads. A large projectile came for the warthog as it counter attacked. The unggoy sped up the vehicle up and flew by the tank, another rocket fired and hit the tank away from the cockpit but set the tank a flame with a satisfing explosion. Gawgap cheered and checked the radar... it was clear.

Devin sighed, "Feels like we beat all the damned creatures, but these cliffs are a bit to steep too get up. Theses no working banshees or dropships either."

"I agree! Oh! Wait! Me got idea to get out of here! We use other vehicles as ramp and drive over them!" GawGap replied.

"Geez, didnt know you grunts could be that smart!" Devin laughed.
Gawgap rolled his eyes, and started looking for wraith. Its smooth, round, front and body would be easy to drive over.

Luckly, there was two wraiths that were still in working condition, Gawgap drove them ontop of each other. It was quite a task to drive one over another, he had to adjust the anti-gravity pods on the wraith until he could get it on the other vehicle.

"Get back on little guy, same plan as last time." the marine ordered.

The top of the flat cliffs seemed to go on for a while. In the middle of nowhere the two fighters were tired, they slept in the vehicle's leathery seats which surprisingly the flood didnt touch. After long sleep, they woke up to see grass and lakes ahead. Devin opened the hatch, "Alright my turn to drive."

It started to get warmer as they moved onward, Devin reconized this place.. It was close to where he heard the Master Chief had vanished from. That didnt help any, he was still stuck alone with a grunt. He was thankful that this unggoy was above average.

"I think we are going to die here on this ring... in the middle of no where." the human spoke with a panicked tone of voice.

"Well if we don't give up we will more than likely die. If we can find a radio..." Gawgap was interrupted by the human.

"If I find my kind of radio...which is rare to be just laying around... my friends would probably kill ya. If we find your kind your buddies would probably kill me..."

Devin paused and looked over head to see a trio of phantoms flew over head. But something wasnt right, two of the covenant dropships were shooting at one .

"Ahh! I don't know which one to shoot at!" Gawgap shouted.
One of the phantoms fired a single turret at the small white vehicle.

"Well me know now!"

He returned fire as Devin drove in circles to avoid getting hit. The Grunt's jackal shield, from which he gotten along time ago, activated it self which withstood a single plasma bolt that could have connected with Gawgap's arm.. Within a few more hits the light vehicle's treads were ruined. Five more rockets were nessesary to take down both phantoms. The "good" Phantom let out some troops, one white elite with a large headress along with two blue elites. Before they examined the vehicle Gawgap shouted, "Please! Don't kill the human! He's my friend!"

The elites paused and looked at the grunt.

"Theres A Human here?" The elite asked.

"Yes, we were stranded where the flood were, between the sentinal wall and library."

The elite rubbed his neck, "So there were still parasites there with various vehicles right?"

      "Why Yes Excellency...." Gawgap answered.

The elite continued his gesture and asked another question, "So you know nothing of the brutes betrayal?."

"Heres the short story, we are in a hurry."
"Those foolish brutes, Jackals, and Drones are the only
ones that are still 'Covenant'. The Prophets have
betrayed us,thus, we quit. The Arbiter learned of Halo's true purpose from many sources. Truth is, Halo is a weapon not something that will send us on any 'Great Journey'. They are capable of destroying us all. Two humans have allied with us, one being former Zealot of "In Amber Clad" and another named Sargent Johnson."
"Get in the phantom, I shall explain the rest"

One of the other elites went to check out the hog, peered into the vehicle to find a human trying to hide behind the door.
"Human, surely you heard our talk?"

Devin, brought himself up quickly and answered, "Yes."

The elite laughed, "Do not fear human, we wont hurt you, just get in our phantom."

The White elite who spoke to Gawgap ordered the dropship's driver to let them in and to pick up the vehicle just incase they needed it.

Devin eyed the inside of the ship. "Uhh, may I ask your name?" the HellJumper asked nervously. There was really no choice, he thought to himself, might as well act friendly if they are.

" Land'Somalee,.... Just call me Soma." The white elite replied proudly. "Whats are your two names?" Soma asked as he eyed the two new recruits.

Devin seemed to trust him enough, "Devin".

The small one smiled inside his mask, "And I would be GawGap."

Soma, turned to the human, "Devin, Your Ship has vanished. According to what information we could get it was took over by flood and it crashed into our old home 'High Charity', So we are planning on stealing a Brute controled crusier. Our mission is to assist the Arbiter, Spec-Ops Commander, and a few humans in taking over the ship to get off this ring. Devin, until you meet with your human leaders, You are under MY Command. Understood?"

"Well its not like I have much of a choice...."

"GOOD!" Devin was interupted by the Proud elite leader.

"All right, lets go!" Soma ordered!

"There aready? And wouldnt the vehicle be blocking the lift?" the human asked.

"We DO have back doors you know!" Soma said as he opened it and pushed the human out along with himself, Gawgap, and the pilots.
"Gawgap and I loaded a bunch of weapons into the side seat..." As soon as Devin finished his sentence Soma rushed to the vehicle and took the Brute plasma rifles and fuel rod cannon.

The newly formed party made their way through the halls of the ship following the corpes, they came to meet up with 4 Hunters, a elite similar looking to Soma, 3 grunts, The Arbiter, Sgt. Johnson, Commander Keyes, and a blue elite with dual needlers. Gawgap took out the sword he took long ago but never used and put the handle in Devin's hand.
"Take it."

Devin accepted, nodded, and activated the blade while he swung it diagnolly from his left knee until his arm could go back as far back as possable.

" Stay behind, let ME lead the way! The Bridge is up ahead!" Spec-ops commander ordered.

Spec-Ops commander charged through the door to find a large group of brutes guarding the area. He slashed through as many brutes that were within his range. They didnt die instantly but were injured badly, The Arbiter, Meso, and DEvin joined in the sword fight. Kepping their distance from each other.

"Hold your fire, fall back behind me if you dont have a sword and keep backing up." Sarge ordered. He led the brutes into the tight corridors. So only two brute could come in beside each other at a time. He kept his beam rifle at head level to pick them off as they came. Some brutes backed up into the hall way as they were avoiding being slashed by sword users. This allowed a rather easy flank. Johnson pulled the trigger only to hear a clicking noise. "Damn It! Im out of ammo!" Johnson shouted. The two hunters took place infront of Sarge and opened fire on the brutes, aiming at their stomach so it would not likely hit the elites and marine behind them.

After a few minutes of fighting the assault was victorious. Corpeses were stripped of brute shot ammo and discarded from the vessel.
"Do you all know anything about how to control or Ships?" Soma asked the trio of Humans.

"Yes, I do, and So does this here Lady!" Johnson prously answerd for himself and commander Keyes.

Soma Nodded, "And Im curious, how do you know? We have only had one report of a single flag ship being stolen and I dont see how you all managed to control that or even our Scrab."

"Well I escaped the explosion of the first halo in a dropship, along with a few other soldiers, we then met up with The Master Chief or who you guys call, "The Deemon!". Most of the time Chief is with a highly intelegent and beatiful A.I. named Cortana. She got lots of information from Halo and that ship we took over.
About your big spider... I really dont know how I knew what to do, it just seemed natural. how about you bastards? How much you know about our gadgets?".

Soma cleared his throat,"Although we were against using your weapons at first, we under estimated your technology. We captured much of youe guns, tanks, warthogs, Pelicans, and even a vessel. We Made simulations of your weapons and vehicles and taught each member of the covenant how to use them, except very few are able to use your ships."

"This is intesting and all but we have soldiers fighting in the control room waiting for pick up. Lets bring this thing closer so we can keep an eye on it. I'll try to see if I can set up a COM channel with them."

Devin, stared at everyone else working with the ship. He was the only one who had no idea how to operate anything besides the automatic doors, and weapons on the ship yes even the hunters and Gawgap could operate things.
"So is there anyway I can make myself useful?" Devin nerviously asked.

"Yes, I have cleaning supplies in the other end of the ship." Soma jokingly answered.

The whole crew laughed in response, Devin couldnt help but to join in. It idnt take long to move such a big ship a mile to the control room.

BrotherHood: Part 4: Uniting
"Grunt, Devin, and four hunters, you guys will be blue team, stay on board the ship and keep it guarded ,The Gravity Lift and Hangar bay are probably the most important areas to keep over. Jhonson Get on the scarab and kill any big target that isnt in our allience. I want the rest of you with me, helping the troops in the control room get a safe entery into our ship, we will be red team." The partyies where formed Johnson and the blue team boarded Appration dropship that was docked in the Hangar bay.

"Well, this U-shaped thing brings back memories." Johnson said.

"This model is old, very few remain, being weak they are used as spares. Because When we went to the first Halo the ship we used wasnt expected to be doing much serious groud fighting, Also why you didnt see as many of the weapons as you see today."

Gawgap opened the Hengar bay's force field and closed it at the dropship's exit.

"With all this excitment going on I forgot I havent ate for a while, follow me, I know where food is.Oh, and you lekgolo mind watching till we get back?" Gawgap said.

The hunter made a positive grunt.

"But Dont you grunts or covenant have some kind of special food thats different from human food?" Devin Asked.

"Oh Yeah we like to eat human and covenant flesh and contol their bodies....Just kidding. Brutes, elite, and jackal eat samething as human."Gawgap said as he showed Devin to a Covenant version of a kitchen.

"Wow, seems like Humans, covenant, and errr.. Ex-Covenant have alot in common." Devin replied.

Gawgap proceeded through another door with covenant writing on it and an airlock. Devin knew exactly what it was since Gawgap was armor and maskless. The covenant's answer to a ketchen was designed differently, it took Devin a few guesses of what their equivilent of a fridge was, he picked up a container which held Milk in it... oddly enough it tasted like regualar milk. After finishing the milk Devin found some meat and ate it on his way to meet back up with the hunters, he heard fuel rod gun blasts coming from the hunters. Devin took out his plasma sword, activated it and ran to see a bunch of jackal corpes in the ground and a single brute on the bottom level of the Hangar bay. Giving the hunters the signal to hold, Devin jumped down and stabbed the brute in its back instantly killing it.

"I've ALWAYS wanted to do that" Devin said as he tried to do a victory trick with his sword as if he was a Final Fantasy character.

Gawgap came back, Fuel Rod Cannon on shoulder, "What? None for me?!"

Inside the darkened control room, Red team was killing off the brutes while gathering the Grunts, hunters and elites that fought.

"That passage way, thats where they were coming from" Miranda shouted.

"Human, Johnson, do you remember another platform similar to the one you were sniping from? Tell me what you see where that door would be connected to the out side." The Arbiter said talking to Johnson through their COM.

" I see nothing but a mountain. Im guessing theres a cave or something in there thats connected to that entrance, the only other way I can imagine them getting through is the room with the glass floor, but that was closed. I'll fire at that mountain, hopefully I can get them apes caved-in." Johnson said as he piloted the scrab to a good angle.

"Oh, no you won't." a brute laughed from behind Johnson.

Johnson took out his beam rifle and whacked the brute a few times with it. The brute laughed and tried to punch him. Sarge quickly moved behind the brute, grabbed his arm, tripped him up,pushed the end of the beam rifle into the alien's stomach and pulled the trigger twice, which put a hole in the beast's body and gave him a burn from the overheating.

"Is everything ok in there Sargent? We heard alot of noise there." Spec-Ops commander questioned.

"Yeah, its all good." Sargent Johnson said as he fired the Scarab's beam at the mountain.

"Red Team to Blue Team, the mission was sucessful. We are coming in." Commander Keyes said.

"Roger That." Gawgap said as he opened up the hengar bay to see a dropship float in with a variety of soldiers coming out.

"Open up the Grav lift, we got another group riding in another Scarab and being dropped of under us." Miranda ordered.

"Another?" Devin Asked. "With how many on board?"

"About 27 on the other Scarb and 20 on the one that is aready here from the control room. If are to find any other groups of Human, elite, grunt, or hunter survivors we are going to save them if we can, the other beasts shall be left behind." Spec-Ops commander answered.

One of the hunters activated the gravity lift allowing the soldiers to gain entery. Various colors of covenant filled the space around the lift, no humans because some where clueless to the alliance. The hunter passed the word around as Soma spoke with Johnson.

"Now how the hell do we carry these scarabs on the ship? I've took a liking to this thing." Johonson asked over the COM.

"We can only carry one per ship. I guess we will bring the one you are in since its in better condition and you like it so much. We should take whatever fuel, coolant, and parts we can from the other one, rendering it useless and ours powerful. But Im not sure if we are going to be fighting on the ground." Soma said. "Im not sure if we are going to rush survivors home or stay and battle ship to ship. There seems to be more Covenant VS. Ex-Covenant Ships engaging each other than on ground." he continued.

A Gold elite, Naman'nesnolee, made his way up to the high platform where the original assalt part were at that over looked the wide open warehouse like room that the gravlift was in.
"Permission to talk?" the gold elite asked.

Soma nodded.

"Is what the hunter said true? Have you became herctics?"

"Yes, we now fight for the same cause. No, THEY are the herctics. Theres a reason for this, hang tight and trust us. I know this is all very sudden to some of you. The original Herectics were right. The Arbiter got it from many sources, Even the Oracle, the one who led the herectics." Soma was interupted by a large explosive noise."Quickly! To the Bridge! "

Everyone up top ran to the bridge except for the hunters, GawGap, and Devin. The 40 something covenant soldiers below looked up at Devin examining him, some with their gun pointed to him, every instinct screamed at them to pull their triggers. At the bridge The high ranked crew turned on the mainscreen. A brute's figure appeared on the screen.

"Hello Humans. All your Crusier are belong to us." The bald brute was slapped and fussed at, and replaced with a higher ranking brute with a red flag on his back.

"You dare to have took our ship. Stupid herectics we shall have everyone of your heads! Better yet we will feed you to the flood if you can survive this!" Following the Brute captain's words the Ship shook.

"Why that fool!" The Spec-Ops commander activated an alarm and started to annouce the situation. "We need everyone to go get ready for battle. Highest ranked soldiers come to the bridge your assistance is needed! And Leave the Human alone!"

Down below the crowd of covenant soldiers split up running through corridors to different parts of the ship. Gawgap led Devin to the bridge and went off to do his job. Then suddenly the floor felt like an elevator going up or down a bit fast as it lifted off out of Halo's atmosphere.

The Arbiter stood on a platform similar, but much larger than the one on the ship, Truth and Reconciliation, watching over the crew, statistics, and a view screen.

Spec-Ops commander went behind the Arbiter and put his hand on The Arbiter's soldier. "So, how does it feel to do this again?"

The Aribter turned his head to the Spec-Ops Commander. "Invigorating."

Mirana was quickly typing in commands into the alien panel as if it was a UNSC ship. The Arbiter looked to her, "If I ever need a second command I know who to call."
Miranda chuckled. "Thanks"

Plasma fire continued between the two ships. Although the brutes got ahead by two shots while the captured ship was stationary, the brutes couldnt lead their shots to the bridge. while other parts of the ship took the hit.

Devin turned to the Arbiter. "Is there anything I can do? And Besides cleaning?"

"Just wander around the ship, make the others get used to you.I assure they will not kill you under the command of Elites of our rank."
Devin walked down the pink and purple hall ways, watching the soldiers work. One elite was trying to pull a handle in the engine room, Devin stood beside the elite and helped him pull it down. The elite looked down at the lever than turned to Devin.
"Uhhh... thanks human."

"Welcome." Devin replied

Shortly after Devin spotted a grunt with a burn on it leg, unable to walk.

"Show me where the water or medic on this ship is."
Devin said. The grunt looked at the human for a few seconds then proceeded to give directions. Devin came back with a white grunt with a bunch of covenant medical tools.

Devin was amazed how human like the creatures could be. Grunts reminded him of little kids, they tried to act like their were always scared but they tried to act like their big brothers, Elites, honorable and strong. Even a lifeform like a hunter felt sort of human. The same races that had attacked and destroyed whole planets and killed many actually had a light side.

"We are victorious! The enemy ship has fallen." said The Arbiter over the intercom.

Cheering was heard through the ship. The crusier landed again hoping to get a bit of repairs. There was a feeling that there would be more fights ahead. They refused to just flee away leaving allies to fight for themselves against the likes of the parasite. One single ship could make a difference. Along Devin's wandering he noticed a werid new alien. They were pink and remnded him of flood carrier forms. His first intention was to run away. Yet he saw the other covenant soldiers laughing at him.
"Silly human, the Engineers are harmless. Their only intent is to fix and repair things unless told otherwise by someone of high ranking." said one of the laughing elites.

Back at the bridge Miranda tried to contact Cortana and the Master Chief. She had no Idea where they were since the last she heard of him was when he was in pursuit of the Prophet of Regret. After a few tries There was a unaudiable message from Cortana. The Arbiter peered over Miranda's shoulder.

"I reconize those coordnates! Thats to High Charity. Theres to much fighting around there to get your A.I. back." Said the Arbiter.

"We have to get her back. She has so much information on these Halos and more." Miranda replied.

"But I know more of the rings then she!" Guilty Spark butted in.

"Not only are there ships in our way, but alot of High Charity has been infested by the parasite. Im sure you dont want any more soldiers to be controlled by those freaks" Added Spec-Ops Commander.

Miranada took a moment to think and told what she thought "What if they flood absord her data? They will find Earth, they and much more."

The Arbiter walked up to the mainscreen again,"Well couldnt they have gotten Earth's location from your vessel? I'd be more than willing to save your planet in return for what we done to reach but they may aready have the loaction."

"Well I've got an idea. How bout we return to earth, get the UNSC, and we blow the Halos and the whole remaining covenant armada to hell?" Jhonson shouted.

Naman, the gold armored elite, joined the conversation.
"What do we tell your people? You two and that marine are the humans on this ship, and the only ones to actually allied with us."

Sargent Johnson rubbed his chin, "Why, we prove it to them by blasting at any nearby ape controled ships. About getting to earth, flee, jump while in the atmosphere of this giant hula hoop maybe it'll damage it like you did to our city back home."

"Lets do it." Soma said as he cracked his knuckles.

Commander Keyes took a deep breath, examined the bright neon colored controls and entered what she needed to get within a good distance of earth. The rest of the bridge crew typed up many commands into the consoles. Over the loud speakers Soma proudly announced what was going on to the soldiers of the ship. There was a neutral response. The troops felt it was almost heresy, but after what was witnessed at High Charity and the words of such well known Elites they figured it was the right thing to do.

The ship rumbled as it entered the bright slipspace stream. Outside bright white went past them. With in a few minutes Earth could be seen. Word of the civil war had spread, there was a three way fight. Unfortunitly UNSC ships where still firing upon both covenant ships even when covenant ships engaged each other. The Arbiter set up a connection with the other elite ships.

"Hold your fire. There are no living brutes on this ship. But expect something unordinary."

" I thought you were dead Arbiter. What other surprises do you have for us?" One of the Elite commanders asked.

"Come" The arbiter signaled Devin to the viewscreen. "Some Allies."

"This is no time for jokes!" yelled the other ships captain, Naka.

"This is no joke" "Mirana link up with one of your human ships or stations." ordered the arbiter.

"Alright, here, and let me talk to them." she quickly replied

"Admiral, this is UNSC commander Miranda Keyes of An Amber Clad, aboard the captured covenant crusier ' Particular Justice'. We have formed an allience with the elites, hunters, and grunts that are now disbanned from the covenant. We request co operation of all UNSC and Elite controlled ships." she explained.

"The Prophets have betrayed us all, not just the ones who have resigned from the covenant but those who still remain. From many sources we have learned the truth of Halo as the Herectics have. We now understand why the Demon had destroyed the first Ring we saw. One of their A.I.s that was with the demon had been contained in the Halo's control center for hours leading her to gain much knowledge of Halo. Then upon defeat of the Hecrtic Leader the Oracle spoke to me, he questioned our Great Jouney. I recived more information from The Demon while we were both captured by a large creature who resembled a giant flood form. This creature was more intellengent and he seems to know alot about the ring. he could read our minds. Although he resembled the parasite he siad that The demon and I shall be brothers." Explained the arbiter

The spec-op commander stood behind the Arbiter.
"And If you dont beleave him..."
Spec-Ops commander changed the view screen so show various covenant soldiers aboard the ship.

"With the current happening of events, That is beleavable. Very well." The gold sanghelli looked to the view screen showing the admiral. "If you agree to this and spread the word, I shall do the same."

"If thats what it takes to save innocent lives, then I will. Im glad you all can see through our eyes now." Hood turned to another set of screens, "People of the UNSC The elites have proposed to help us defeat the brutes if we Help their civil war." Replied Lord Hood.

"Brothers, the UNSC will help us defeat the brutes if we dont fire at them. Please Refain from attacking them even after victory. The Arbiter will inform you all on the situation. I know it sounds like heresy, but do IT."

Particular Justice's bridge crew all cheered. Aready Naka and Lord Hood opened up communication with other allied vessels. Aready firing between the Elites and UNSC ceased , directing their aim to brute controlled ships. It was like the childhood game of "pass it on". Some of the other commanders had still questioned what was going on, but tried out this new plan anyways.

"So this allience, what do we call it?" Asked Naka.

"The Brotherhood." Devin proudly exclaimed.

"I like that." replied the Leaders.

BrotherHood: Part 5 and 6
Date: 7 November 2005, 8:34 pm

BrotherHood: Part 5, Brothers in Arms.
"We band of brothers: for he today that sheds his blood with me shall be my brother;"

Plasma beams, lasers, missles, and MAC rounds worked together like a Dual Wielded plasma pistol and SMG destroying Brute controlled ships in a matter of seconds.

"Damn!" thought the bridge crew among various ships. Watching bursts of flames come from big vessels, even Seraph fighters, drophips, and boarding crafts had been blown to bits in shorter amounts of time.

The battle seemed to had finally ended. Elite and Human ships had weapons prepared, ready to attack one another. Arbiter wiped sweat off his head and stood at the view screens with various smaller windows with the faces of human and elites looking back, staring right into his eyes.

"My brothers, my ex-covenant brothers, think of what we have done to the humans and their planets. Realize the false goal we have been fighting for. We must accept that we were wrong and pay the humans back for the destruction caused by us. Spread the truth to the Brutes, Drones, and Jackals, they too are innocent pawns in the Prophet's plans for the destruction of all."

"Why that explains everything!" 343 Guilty Spark said as he rushed to the Arbiter's side. "My, how sad. That is why you all had released the parasite. If the other races will only beleave me then allowing me to tell them and come along with you is a must! Purposeful releasing of the flood and selfish activation of the other rings would be most unacceptable!"

The Arbiter turned to 343 and nodded then shifted his face back to the view screen. "Humans, may we ask for forgiveness?"

Half-Jaw placed one hand on the Arbiter and signaled Sarge up to the viewscreens and placed his other hand on Jhonson's sholder, "Let these proud races form a brotherhood and make peace by destroying the harmful parasites, TOGETHER!"

Cheering and yelling was heard from the bridge crew of every ship. Fists, hats and helmets were thrown into the air. Miranda called Devin up to the view screens with GawGap at his side. "Tell them boys the name of our new allience!" Jhonson said as he put his hand over their heads.

"THE BROTHERHOOD!" GawGap and Devin shouted as they heard the elites, grunts, and humans; in unison, repeatedly shout the name out like they were rooting for their favorite football team.

The cheering paused. "We got a new contact, unknown classification." One of Cario's bridge officers, Hampton, reported.

Lord Hood turned to Hampton,"It isnt one of ours, take it out."

"This is Spartan-117, anybody read me? Over." A familiar voice spoke over the COM.

The Admiral looked up at the ship through the view screen. "Master Chief, you mind telling me what you're doing on that ship?"

"Sir, finishing this fight".

"Well, I got a surprise for you. Why don't you look outside and see."

"Negitive, there are no windows....."

Admiral Hood put his hand over his forehead and shook it. "Fine, I'll tell you,The Elites, Grunts and Hunters are willing to fight by our side. Finally they have realized the truth. What those god damned rings are all about. They also plan to convince the other races to join the cause."

"We got trouble,at least 24 more crusiers, heading right into earth. They came from an ungaurded part. And most of the MAC stations all around the earth are down." Said Hampton.

Hood held his chin, " Alright get some troops ground side, on the double. Make sure our allience has been told to every single soldier on the ground. Master Chief, can you control that ship?

"Negitive sir, its being controlled by a Prophet, Truth. Im sure he has lots of back up too. This ship is many times bigger than the size of any of their Sky Scrapers. Although I saw a very long gravity connecting the lower and higher portions of the ship." Answerd the Chief.

Truth's voice was heard in Master Chief's helmet "Fool, you have been detected. Today you will die, demon. We have you outnumbered and have no where to go until this ship lands!" said Truth. "And don't expect to be chatting with the rest of your filthy race ever again."

"Lost connection with the Master Chief, sir!" Hampton told the Admiral as he slamed his fist on the console.

"We are going to need to board that ship, capture Truth, and save the Master Chief. Any takers?" Hood asked over the COM channels.

"Me" A strong woman's voice answered from behind the admiral.

Brotherhood: Part 5, Saviors need saving too.

Admiral Hood's eyes froze as he turned around, his eyes focused on a Spartan as she took her helmet off and straghtened her blue hair with one hand and other holding the helmet. "My God…"

"Spartan-087, Kelly. Permission to engage?" A Dozen more Spartans appeared behind her.

"Green light, green light to engage!" Shouted Lord Hood at the top of his voice.

"I think those 'Spartans' are needed more groundside, I see they've been on a full scale invasion. My crew and I will save the…… Master Chief."The Arbiter demanded. " I also know my way through that vessel."

"That's not a bad idea, But Im going anyways. I havent seen him in years." Kelly replied.
The arbiter nodded and turned to his soldiers. "Who wishes to come?" said the ariter as he whipped out his Plasma Sword. As soon as they heard the words, Devin and Gawgap had volunteered. Soma lifted up his fuel rod cannon.

Sarge took his cigar out his mouth, "As much as I'd love to come along I gotta stay here and help watch over this ship."

"To the Phantom!" ordered the Arbiter. They all ran towards the hangar bay and boarded the dropship that had a Ghost and Spectre.

Kelly ran towards one of the longswords docked on the Cario, as the dropship she came in on was for the other new spartans. Her fingers brushed over the controls, the aircraft sped out the station in a blur, like she would on the ground.

Camui-157 looked over to the other eleven spartans he was left in charge of. He pointed towards the emblem on his sholder armor that had the Japanese charcter for 'power'. "This is what we are, the ultimate power, lets show those ground troops what were made of. Also, remember the elites, grunts, and hunters are supposed to be on our side." Camui waved his soldiers in and took place on the co-pilots seat. Spartan-172, Dante took the controls, he was an awesome driver with any vehicle. He pushed the controls forward as the hangar opened and Airlocks closed. Blueish fire bursted through the Pelican's jet engines, it made way towards the Earth's atmosphere. Camui slid in a CD to the media player, he smiled as J-rock music played through the dropship's speakers. Music often helped him do twice as better in battle, he would shoot or attack an enemy along with the beat of the music.

The Arbiter sent coordnates to Kelly's Longsword for where to meet up and enter the Foreunner Space Craft. He looked to see her aready flying beside the ship waiting for them. The Phantom Boosted past her position shooting at the entrance to burn a hole through. Kelly launched a pack of missles, shut off the longsword and strapped on a jet pack to make way to board the phantom. Soma steered the vehicle inside the hole they blasted through and landed it on the dark and pink interior.

The Arbiter turned to the unngoy and spartan. "Gawgap and Kelly you two are the only ones capable of breathing a short time with out atmosphere. I need you two to close the Airlock behind where we came through, We will be going through corridors to big for a phantom but just big enough for a Spectre and Ghost."

Soma pulled released the Ghost and spectre with the pull of a handle which controlled gravity on the ship's underside. Then he brought the vehicle to a rounded spot to land the Phantom. Since Gawgap was able to read the writings on the Airlock's control panel he had to type in the commands as Kelly watched his back with a pair of magnums. The lock sealed and vents opened allowing air to pass through. Everyone boarded the vehicles; The Arbiter took control of the ghost, Gawgap piloted the Spectre, the spartan took the turret,Devin took the left seat with a brute plasma rifle Soma on the right carrying a Fuel Rod Cannon. Bright blue light followed in their trails lighting the dark interior of this huge Forerunner artifact. Dozens of spiral ramps were needed to drive up to reach the bridge.

Master Chief saw a flash of blue light reflect off the wall, he took off from his hiding spot to Notice a Familiar Elite, a Spartan, and an Helmetless ODST. He yanked his plasma pistol from off his belt, let off a few single shots and charged it, holding it over his head so they could see who it was.

"Well, any room for me?" Chief asked.

Everyone looked back and forth to each other, not wanting to give up their seats. They all then turned to look at Devin.

"What?! What did I do?!"

"Get up, thats the chief's spot now." Everyone answered.

"But…"

"NOW" They all said.

Devin climbed up the Spectre he was ontop of it inbetween every seat on the vehicle. It was uncompfortable, he could barely hold his weapon correctly either. Kelly was careful not to smack Devin with the turret when she aimed forward.

Finally there was a room with lighting, which meant they were getting close, and someone else had to be there. A trio of brutes come from behind cover firing a hail of grenades their way. The Arbiter covered the spectre, his ghost flipped wildy in the air while he jumped out and rolled unharmed on the ground. He ignited his plasma sword, the brute froze, shocked by the sanghelli's manuvers. The Arbiter cut through the brute from sholder to waist, it screamed and fell forward. Anoter brute decided to go staright for the elite. Spartan-087 let out a stream of turret fire burn through the thick skin of the beast. Master Chief and Devin shot a barrage of plasma pistol and brute plasma rifle fire on the third brute. All three of the dirty apes died. "You really need a better weapon then that Chief!". Devin chuckled.

Master Chief turned to Devin, "Then give me yours."

"No, you aready took my seat! With the position Im in now, I wont be able to walk or stand correctly for days! I dont even know if I can use the bathroom if I needed to."

"Thank you for getting that beast off of my back, Kelly." Said the Arbiter as he bowed his head.

"Anytime." She replied.

The Arbiter examined his ghost, a few sparks jumping and scratched paint but it still worked fine. Chief put the plasma pistol back by his side and pirated a bruteshot along with grenades for it. He dropped in four nades pulled the handle and kept a finger on the trigger. The party made way up the next circular tunnel like ramp. As soon as the next room was visable they boosted as fast as possible out into the open. Gawgap sharply turned the spectre towards a pack of jackals. The aliens body flew over the divers seat and into Devins face. He growled and shoved the corpse off with his gun. Gawgap laughed and handed him his Jackal Shield. A dozen drones appeared from above, spraying needler and plasma pistol fire all over the place. Devin's shield activated on its own once again protecting Devin from the threat. Kelly hailed them with streams of plasma from the turret. Meanwhile, the Arbiter grabbed a drone from off his ghost's hood and choked it to death.

"In the center, there seems to be a grav lift!" exclamied Soma.

The vehicles drove into the bright green area and were lifted up to the a smaller corridor. They abandoned the vehicles and silently creeped to the sliding doors, which was bad as the doors opening notified whoever was in the room that someone was there.

"Well, that must be them." Truth said. "Get them, now!"

Soma motined everyone to get behind him, he nodded to Master Chief and pointed to the other door. They raised their heavy weapons and fired as the doors slid open. Noise from the explosons rumbled through the hallways. Bodies of the Honor Gaurd Brutes flew into the walls, along with a trio of Major Jackals.

"Now show them our surprise!" thr Prophet ordered.

Land'Somalee looked to Chief and shrugged. Arbiter moved up closer behind Soma, while Kelly did crept closer to chief. The arbiter dual wilded a brute plasma rifle and a plasma pistol that had been thrown to their direction from the explosion. Kelly slid over one of her magnums towards him and he traded his plasma pistol for it. Devin pulled Gawgap behind him with the jackal shield activated, he brought up his brute plasma weapon, ready to fire at either left or right position. The doors slid open, a trio of brutes rushed out from each side. Gawgap watched the spartans and elites fire like mad, but something wasn't right about those brutes, they had shields, even worse, OverShields.

"FRAG OUT!" yelled Gawgap, he threw a frag grenade at each wall behind the new enimies, and let them bounce back right behind the brutes. The nade ate up a lot of their shields making it much easier for his friends.

"Fools, you will not kill me" Truth's voice echoed through the hall.

The party came in through each door and learned that this room was the bridge. Inside was a single brute,Tandrom, smiling while looking out to space. In the view screen they saw hundreds of damaged human and elite ships littering the space around earth. Some burned in half, other burned in random spots.

"It took a while for the ship to transfer its power from being a power plant and going through slipspace to create this. The only reason you all made it here is because the Ship's OverShields couldn't charge right after the jump, allowing you to blow a hole in. Your allies tried to keep from shooting because they worried so much about you." The brute explaned as he turned to them. "Now I will destroy you, then they would have wasted their lives trying to save the ones that would die anyways!" A purple aura formed around him.

"This looks awfully familiar, doesn't it Arbiter?" Some said as he was shaking his head.

"Yes, but this time we are without a beam rifle." He replied.

The Master Chief looked at them awkwardly."I think our current weapons will do enough…"

"No, that special shield of his can only be put down by beam rifle fire, three shots to be exact."arbiter interupted.

"I see. Devin, Gawgap search for a beam rifle. We will keep him busy as long as we can since we have shields."

Devin clapped his hands together, "There should be one in the Phantom, Gawgap."

"True, but it will take to long to get down there!" cried the grunt.

"What about the grav lift?"

The grunt examined the control panel next to the lift and grinned. The two entered the spectre and rode down the lift.

Devin swung the turret around,"Thank god I don't have to sit in that other place again! "

The arbiter rolled back into the wall."The Prophet of Truth, where is he?"

"You really think Im going to tell you? Even if I did, you would be dead before you could do anything about it!" The brute laughed as he swung his Gravity Hammer at the Arbiter.

Kelly jumped at him and knocked the hammer out of his hand. The brute tried desprately to capure the fast spartan but failed. His shield disappeared. She dropped her pistols and picked up his hammer, the aura formed around her. She pointed the weapon towards Tandrum, "Tell us where he is!"

Tandrum looked out the view screen, they where in earth's atmosphere about to land in a big city. He laughed, took out a plasma grenade and detonated it on himself. Master Chief heard Devin's voice over his COM.

"Truth! Hes down here! Escaping in OUR Phantom!"Devin yelled as loud as he could.

"This is Spartan-087, Kelly. Truth is escaping on a phantom from this ship, keep track of him at all costs! "

Below was a large area of desert, in the distance, the city of New Mombasa. Unless someone did something fast, they would be going "nose" first into the ground. If the shields on the ship where strong enough they might get out alive. The Arbiter looked to one of the consoles, thankfully that meter, which was for shielding, read fully charged. Gawgap leapt out the spectre followed by Devin. "about 25 seconds till we land, hang on tight." Kelly anounced.

The lights, viewscreens, and other machines immediately turned out fowllowing her words.

"They have shut it down on us to avoid giving us a safe landing." Announced the arbiter

Everyone in the ship was left in pitch black darkness, they held on to the nearest object built into the ship they could find. The ship rumbled violently, echos of it could be heard hitting different parts of the ship. Devin closed his eyes and felt himself nearly throw-up, he was expecting more pain from the impact. He opened his eyes when everything went still, a purple aura surounded him. Something was in his other hand, it was the Gravity Hammer. Kelly sat beside him, the spartans turned the lights on in their helmet.

"Are you ok?" Kelly asked.

Devin looked around franticly, "Yeah, Im fine. Where the heck is Gawgap?" The spartans brushed the darkness with their lights. Gawgap was laying on his side, looking weak. Quickly he ran to Gawgap, he saw the grunt blink and a odd hissing sound from his backpack. Devin put his hand on the unggoy's sholder. "Are you ok?"

"Yes," he replied softly. "I think there is a small leak in my methane pack, and Im aready starting to run low…."

"Don't say another word brother, you need to do nothing that will make you need to brethe more." Devin balled up his fist, " Don't you die on me, we are going to win this war. Here get on my back."

"This is Spartan-117, any body read me, over?"

"Yes, are you ok in there Master Chief? You've created a crater down there!" a female bridge officer replied.

"Im fine, tell our new friends weve got a grunt in need of a new methane tank. His old one is getting low and its leaking." The COM clicked.

"Roger that, anything else?"

" I need you to punch a hole through this ship. We are deep in the ground, and need a way out. "

"Help is on the way. And Sir, if you don't mind me asking, how are you able to communicate with me from so deep underground?"

"I don't know."

Devin carried Gawgap on his back and went around to check the gravity lift, in hopes that they could go to the part of the ship that's closer to the surface. Instead, when the doors slid open a mound of dirt poored out. He remebered the gravity lift went from the long spiraling decks to the bridge with nothing much to protect them in between besides the overshields. Slowly more dirt started coming in, Arbiter used the controls to make the doors shut again. It made all kinds of noises and struggled to shut itself against the weight. Both the spartans and elites brabbed each side and forced it shut. Thankfully those things could take a lot of punishment before breaking.

On the other side of the room was another pair of doors, Truth had most likely exited through. But it too would probably be filled with dirt since he could reach the gravity lift from there. Supposedly it was like a Long "Y" that had to entrances and one exit or the other way around depending what part of the ship you were on.

" Chief, blowing a hole through this thing wont help get you out, it will just get more dirt clogged in. We are going to literally pull this contraption out of the ground. So hang on really tight." Said the voice of an old man.

Over head where dozens of different classes of covenant and human spacecraft. All working together to save the lives of some legendary heros. Each ship had some kind of powerful teahters attached to it that were usually used to tow one other ship of its size or smaller to a repair station or even the through the atmosphere. Devin held Gawgap tightly and put the grunt's hands around the Gravity Hammer. Although still invincible to hits to the body, his methane pack still leaked.

"Where are you guys going to land this thing?" Kelly asked.

"Right back where it was, it will make a great monument of our allience." replied the old man. He chuckled, "Don't worry miss, we got a experienced pelican driver coming in while this thing is in the air. Well I'll be darned, here he is now!"

Dante steadied the pelican, the large Forerunner craft was still moving very slowly as the ships which were toweing couldn't keep it perfectly still. He drove towards a hole in which the broken gravirty lift sent objects bridge side, it was a good fit. Around the area he landed were piles of sand, most had fallen out once they gone airborne. Inside the pelican's cargo area he reached for shovel and made way towards the sliding doors.

"This is Spartan-172, Dante, anyone home?"

The doors slid open and dirt rushed through to the feet Soma, whom opened it. Soma growled and shook all the sand off. He helped carry the large hammer Devin and Gawgap held onto towards the pelican.

"So, this would be the legendary 117?" Dante said, as he looked towards the Master Chief.

"Correct, the introductions will have to wait, this grunt needs medical attention quickly. Hes much more stronger and intellegant than any grunts Ive ever seen before." Chief replied.

Dante ran for the control compartment of the Pelican. He took Gawgap and laid him on the co-pilot's seat, he sealed the air lock between the passenger and cockpit, and turned on his air recycling system.

"This should keep you alive a bit longer, and we will need every second we can get. Oh yeah, just chill, don't say a word or move a muscle."

The pelican dived out from the hole towards one of the covenant ships. Behind them the other vessels slowly began to lay the Forerunner craft towards its crash site. Once they reached the docking bay they were gretted by Half-Jaw. He quickly snatched Gawgap off his chair and rushed him onto a grav-cart, and pushed as fast as he could to the medical room. Gawgap was then put through an airlock to what was called the "Methane Zone". Quickly, Gawgap took his armor off and took deep breathes. Spec-ops Commander took another methane tank from a closet, this wasn't an ordinary one either, it was gold and red with a helmet like that of an Honor Guard's.

"That idea was put away long ago, to think we even have one!" Soma said, shocked by the sight of the armor.

"It was put away by the Prophets, and us back when we were blind. I could find no greater use then being a measuem piece besides what I am to do with it now." Spec-Ops commander cheerfully replied.

The Arbiter Nodded, "I too agree."
Spec-Ops Commander knocked on the window of the Methane Area. Gawgap turned around, his eyes widened at the sight of what he saw. He headed towards the airlock and fitted the armor to his body.

Gawgap turned to the Elite which presented this gift to him,"So what rank…"

"Surpreme Military Leader. Gawgap, you're a very gifted Unggoy. Statistically speaking you're the strongest grunt in terms of intelegence and physical strength. You have saved the lives of many, and have killed hundreds of different enimies on your own, while most grunts other than yourself would have died in a pack. " said Half-Jaw as he looked the grunt directly to his eyes.

"I'll have to agree, Ive never seen a grunt who could lift me up with one arm, drive a warthog, and use his surroundings wisely. Back when we were in that big vehicle war with the flood, big snowy cliffs surrounded us. He used the wraiths and made them into ramps. Also that encounter with a Scropion, he used the tunnels around us for great cover." Devin added in. "Congratulations."

Spec-Ops Commander took out a plasma rifle and fired at the unggoy. Gawgap quickly rolled to his side. Inside his helmet he noticed a HUD with a shield indicator.
"Nice touch!" Gawgap commented

Dante clapped his hands together,"Lets get ground side, theres a lot of trouble brewing. Plus, we can test out that new armor."

"We have got two chaingun warthogs, one snow warthog, four ghosts, a wraith, and three dropships. I want the pelican to take a warthog and ghost, the apparation should have the other warthog and two ghosts while the second apparation has the wraith and a single ghost. Brutes have been coming in fast since most, if not all, of the MAC stations are down. Anyone up for a fight board the dropships now.Dont forget to pick up weapons from the Armory" Ordered the Arbiter.

Troops from all around the hangar bay rushed into the dropships, ready to go into a battle they had a great advatage over. They pushed each other and tried to fit as many as they could on board the aircrafts. Some were dissapointed they had to get out to make room for the Arbiter's party consisting of three spartans, Devin, Gawgap, Half-Jaw, Johnson, and Soma. Everyone had hated ship to ship space battles; they wanted to be on the ground, with guns, vehicles, and true action. Those who had been unable to board a dropship had to stay behind; some took their anger out on a wall and a few took place in side the vehicles the dropships held.

Dante had once again took the pelican's main controls. Gawgap and a jackal who made it on board the pelican watched the spartan pilot the craft as he explained how to drive and operate it. Master Chief watched behind the pelican in the turret, except this turret had been replaced with a modified plasma weapon it shot exactly like the old Shade stationary gun model that he had seen alot before the covenant found earth. He preffered those comapred to the 'new' models which fired slower.

"Lets get ready for some more hardcore action!" Dante yelled over the comm, happy to not have to hear Camui's Japanese music.
