Yeah, so I don't know a whole lot about the military ranks. I'll watch out for that next time...

one little prob with that an officer is anybody of the ranks sargent and above, the absolute lowest is private in all forms of the military. and if she didn'tead the squad she would of been breifed by her CO, just thought id like to say that, nothing wrong with the actual story, actually it was very good to use your rating system id give it a 9.2

im late reading this but it was pretty good i only have one problem, you screwed up one thing a private is the lowest rank in the military and you had ppl suluting her and her leading a squad and the way she was talked about by the captain it sounded like she would at least be a sargent. pretty good otherwise

Now, about when she was talking to the Captain...
Yes, she does kinda seem like she should be a sargeant, but it just didn't seem to fit her personality to me.
She also doesn't seem like she should be leading a squad, but she is an officer who has proven herself worthy in fights (except, of course, around most snipers).

It may be a low rank, but she's still an officer and her men are even lower than that. They're just...them. I would imagine (I don't know for sure) that a Marine that was a lower rank than that would still have to show her respect, even as a private.

Thanks, TM.
I like unhappy endings with just a little bit of good as long as there is a sequel. However, in this case, it is tragic and I don't think there will be a sequel.

Oh my, oh my, that first paragraph was brilliant! Atmospheric without becoming cheesy!
Epic and Tragic? Me too, I love unhappy endings, so refreshing!

I like it when my stories are somewhat epic and tragic.
