Well you have to realize that part one is all back story. I have to set up for the main story plots to be established correctly otherwise... what happens? Nothing really. I can't jump right into the action in this particular story. The main fruit of this plot really starts to get good in the second part and throughout the next few chapters.

I will apologize for not reading the stories in their proper order. I get a wierd sort of view from reading them backwards. Nice. Like the storyline. I like how you lead up to the next story, but things seem to go by pretty fast. No read "in depth" fighting. that's just fine of it's your style, and I wouldn't just switch to that kind of writing either.
