Hey, Flood impalor, great story!! It doesnt matter if Longswords were used in the FoR book as fighters and bombers. This is fiction, not real life. This is part of the imagination of a talented writer!! If he wants the Chief and Marines riding a cloud to the Truth and Reconciliation 2 then let it be beautiful!! Ha....look forward to more!!!

Perhaps they can hover, but have you ever seen a Harrier Jumpjet being used like a dropship?

Err... Sorry didn't read the story, but Arthur, I think Longswords can hoover, they are capable of vertical takeoff and technology does allow for anti-gravity. I think the only reason not to use Longswords would be that they would be very expensive dropships. For a very important mission, however, cost is not an option, heck use the POA as a drop ship, crash it on some land. (Hey where's the shield ships?). Just my opinion.

There is a reason there are Pelican dropships and Longsword fighters, Flood Impaler. Pelicans sacfrice speed for the ability to hover and thus drop people off, thus the name. Long swords are really fast and have a large arsenal, but do not hover. In effect, Long Swords are the equivalent of planes and Pelicans are the equivalent of helicopters. So unless the Long Swords are supposed to use paratroopers, Pelicans will be dropships. Also only larger warships can use MAC guns.Otherwise, excellent story except for the mistakes, I look forward to more.

Ya know Vaeyate, I used friggen longsword fighters as dropships, because they are faster, more manouverable etc. In tight spots, The fightercan easyly take out a couple of pursuing enemy fighters. Plus, if you are dropping reenforcements at the sametime as an enemy, the mac guns plus homing missiles can neutralize enemydropships. So use your imagination. And i will bet you like Gundam wing, Dont you?

I have seen this mistake so many times. You must have read the book because of you otherly great story but a Long sword is NOT a drop ship. Long swords are intercepters. i may be wrong. there may be other types of long swords that were not in the book. but the only type of long sword i know is a long sword intercepter. just for your knowlage, the drop ship is called a Pelican.
