WHOA! had no idea this section was here. Thanks for all the comments. And the "Matt" that replied. Was that THEE MATT, or some other Matt?
Anyhoo, about the whole "Only Cortana could have known thingy. She does say in The Maw that 343 was in her DATA ARRAYS meaning he knew what she knew.
And I had realized it was 04 and not 06 a few hours after I sent in the story. One of those *DOH* moments.
And finally, Wado. Making assumptions like I had done gives the actual conclusion a bit more of a bang. The final chapter answers all of the burning questions.

The story had some good elements to it like the portrayal of Forerunners as watchers, reminds me of the cold war bunkers where operators waited for the order to launch nuclear missiles and destroy the Earth 8 times over.
The dialog and descriptions were nice too.
There are a few spelling and grammatical errors, no big deal. Unfortunately, I'd like to say that the story did not draw me in as much as it could have because it did not leave much to the imagination. What I mean is that you give too much information away to the reader and at other times make assumptions about what we should know. This is really a tough subject for writers. Basically, you need to give enough information to keep the reader interested but not so much that it becomes boring. For instance, telling us about the Flood in one paragraph and then in the next refering to something called the "Project" is strange. Is the "Project" the Flood? Maybe you could have started the story talking about the "Project" and gradually led up to how the fate of the universe was at stake.
I feel I'm not doing such a great job trying to explain this -- sorry.
Anyway, keep up the writing. Since there is a break in the submissions until the 26th of this month, I suggest combining parts 2 and 3 of this series into one submission rather than post them separately.
Looking forward to reading more from you.

Overall its pretty good! I'M waiting for 2-5.
I am not sure if you read Halo: The Fall of Reach yet but if you did you should know about the Cole Protocol. I will tell you what happened on the Pillar of Autum before Cortana was given to the Master Chief by Captian Keyes. if you remember Keyes was talking about the Cole Protocol,(ON THE PILLAR OF AUTUM'S BRIDGE)(KEYES)"The protocol is clear, destruction or capture of a ship-board AI(Cortana) is absolutely unaceptable, if they capture her..... BLAH BLAH BLAH." anyway what im trying to say is that Cortana is the only one who has the location of Earth and her colonies, the piliar of Autums databanks did not because Cortana purged THAT data before being given to the MC.

LET'S GET SOME MORE PEOPLE READING THIS STORY!
A very good story, well gone through. However I have two points:
It's installation 04 not 06.
How can they see 343 GS? It's not like they have a camera there with him.
I'm going to look out for parts 2-5!
