Comments for 'A Single Motion: part 1' |

I finished Halo: The Flood last night. It is a great book. i mean it tells teh story of Halo from several different angles. It kinda cuts down on the Master Chiefs missions, but it tells the story from these point of views: MasterChief ODST Helljumpers Flood beasts Elites Hunters, and Grunts. I think it is worth the seven dollars spent buying it.

I tend to keep cuss words to dire situations. Like whenever I get pinned down in paintball, I'm like shit shit shit goddamn shit fuck!
But something like shit holy goddamn hell that cloud looks like a duck! is a little excessive.

Well I think with all that firepower, I would feel pretty safe, but if it really scared me, I wouldn't make casual conversations to other marines saying "Now what the fuck do you think that damn thing could fucking be?"

I have to admit, I was almost shocked when I read about the helicopters, but a quick re-check of the designated date and year confirmed my "ignorance" to what was going on. I have to say, that was excellent, something that you don't see everyday. (At least I don't see it every day.)
Very good, Arthur, I'm hoping A single Motion part 2 comes soon.
(If it doesn't, I'm gonna cry...lol).

Well, your opinion differs from my own. With the technology to travel from star to star, I don't care if I had 1000 helicopters, I'd be pretty scared and without a doubt I'd be cursing out of fear.

Awesome story Arthur But one thing. The Rangers are an Elite Group of soldiers that fight for the Army. Also the Apache is an Army exclusive Weapon of war. I'm not critizing just pointing out the details for you. I hope you keep these stories coming!

Well, I don't know about you guys, but what would your reaction be to seeing an alien spaceship?
But anyway, your suggestions are noted. Expect to see less cursing in the sequal.

I'd have to agree though that you really don't need to curse that much its excessive!-and uneeded tone it down a bit...

I like cuss words. They vent the anger and frustration that collect after spending the day surrounded by morons. Ahem.

Ok I have to say I am toally Irked by the amount of expletives you used. Every word doesn't have to be "Fuck" or "Asses" or...well you get the point. I actually became bored of the story because you used so many cuss words. And just a little futuristic insight, I highly doubt they'd still be using helicopters, they're un-reliable, and easy to shoot down. Next time you write, don't have everyone throwing out cuss words.
I know this sounds a little harsh, but...

great job!
the part about the elite having no shield shows you put thought into this story. even the "all powerful cov." have to start somewere.

I wouldn't feel too dumb, Steele. I only got those names from the CNN Special site. :)

Nice. Original too. Stories are getting pretty repetitive noa days. Wait till Halo 2 and the influx of new ideas and stories.

I'll fulfill my obligation and feel dumb. I feel dumb. The Air Force is my favorite branch of the Military, so I really do feel dumb not knowing they exist. I guess a Plasma Thrower could have slaughtered a bunch of Rangers, espically at close range.

An interesting approach to how the war between the Covenant and Humans began. Correct?
And, I agree with LostRock. I like a story without the standard central hero character. I tried to do the same with the "New Year's Day" series.
Good job - I'll look forward to reading this series.

Wow, comments.... brings tears to my eyes. lol
Traumitised Marine, I will do that. Thanks for taking such an interest.
To Steele: I took some liberties while designing this weapon. It is not the conventional plasma pistol we all know and love in Halo. Instead it is like the Covenant equivalent to a flame thrower. Also, both of those AFBs exist; one in New Mexico and the other in South Dakota, just like in the story.

Wow, this is some good stuff. I'm glad to see that someone's finally managed to make a story with no main character...yet. (I hope!)

Hmmmm....That was interesting, I liked it. It was different but good. I suppose the short alien was a Grunt and the other one was an Elite?
I don't see how the Plasma Pistol (I assume that is what it was) could have slaughtered a bunch of Highly trained Rangers, with over 20 pounds of pure kelvar armor. Maybe it could have gotten one or two, but a bunch...I don't think so.
I don't think any of those AFB actually exists, but I'm pretty sure you knew that (if they do, I'll feel dumb). I enjoyed it and Hope to read the next one when it comes out.
