Cool, thanks. The dimensions are a little unbeliveable, though. I thought it was supposed to be small, like an X-Wing. The wingspan is 94 ft! The C-130 hercules is 100 feet in length. If you made a mistake, please tell me.

Great Job - That was one of the better short stories on here. Looking forward to your next installment!

Yea, you're right. I did the math and it all adds up. It is still a little big for a superiority fighter, in my opinion, but hey, it's your ship.

Nope. I actually just used a 1.5 to 1 ratio in size to today's F-14 Tomcat (not including variable wing sweep). Compared to a Longsword it's very small.
I know I didn't really give a physical description of what it looked like so here:
First, imagine an X-wing. Then take off the wings (or S-foils) and the four engines (the four parts that stick out). Increase the nose length, round the nose's edges and turn the tip of the nose into a point. Turn the angular canopy into a nice rouned canopy (without making it look DUMB).
Next, add two delta-shaped wings in the rear middle. They should extend past the rear of the fighter. (about now, from the top view, the Dagger should resemble an arrowhead of sorts.)
On the rounded parts behind the canopy (originally from the X-wing) add tall triangular shaped vertical stabilizers. On the tip of the nose add trapezodial shaped canards.
Turn the rear into large vectored thrust nozzled engines. That's about as good as I can do now. I wish I was an artist.

I just re-read my story up here and realized how many mistakes I made. How did I miss all of them on the submission form. The only good thing is that they're all very subtle...

Thanks!
To Hikaru: I imagine Halo 2 is going to be very fast paced. The E3 demo definitely was... I thought about making the Cheif capture the ship, but there are plenty of obstacles that stand in the way.
First, the Cheif couldn't capture the ship, even with his new suit and a bunch of techno gadgets. There are just too many Covenant.
Second, what would be the point. Sure, Cortana could take control and blast a few nearby Covenant ships to oblivion, but that wouldn't do all that much good. It would have been best to just kill it.
To Wiley: I just e-mailed you the Dagger technical info, use it wisely.

Pretty sweet story. Seems a little fast for level one. That's unless of course you intended this to be one of several parts like my chapter one was forced to be. Plus wouldn't the Chief rather capture the ship? It would be of great tactical advantage for the UNSC. Still good story. 9/10 from me. I'll wait for Chapter 2.
