LOL
I had a hard time deciding whether or not to do it the way I did it, just for the confusion reason. But the more I thought about it, the more I figured it would give the reader something to think about, and then that 'voila' experience.

Ooooooooh, I get it. Now I feel stupid.

Elsrik's dead.
Plain and simple.
I figured that if he woke up in the same grove that he was fighting on, with two dead guys he loved, you'd figure it out.

Two dead guys? Is that supposed to be God and Jesus?

I figured Elsrik was on Earth.

And Elsrik woke up in the grove he was fighting in when he was hit by the debris.

If you reread it, you'll probably be able to figure out where Elsrik is, and why two dead guys are with him.
And Gelinoir, the guy he met during the earlier attack, fought the inept leader during the main battle, and won. So he became the leader of his unit and renamed it Elsrik's Army.

*Scratches head* How could that be the end? The Monastor died, Elsrik is somewhere else, his "brother" is a Ceremonial Guard, there was a struggle of command I'm assuming back on Halo, and the winner lead Elsrik's Army to some sort of victory... or defeat? I don't get it. I'll say this, though: the writing was superb.
