Corporal Coleman E. Roughton stood still aboard the UNSC Cruiser, The Foolish Vendetta, while the Admiral strode past, followed by several Elite Honor Guards. Coleman snarled, he did not like the Elites very much, let alone those who claim to have "Left the Prophets." If it was up to him, he would kill the Elites, Hunters, and Grunts who came to the UNSC after the attack on Earth. One of his best friends had been mercilessly killed by an Elite, and Coleman had killed several Elites in his 5 years with the UNSC. He fingered the trigger on his Rocket Launcher; perhaps he could kill the Elites, and then run off? He knew he had a Longsword Fighter in the bay, he could go off and create his own armada, and strike back at the Covenant and the UNSC, and hopefully get some of the Covenants enemies to help him. He quickly made his decision and that night he would lay a detonator near the stations MAC gun, and hope that the ensuing explosion would eliminate the station. He smiled. Time to prove the UNSC wrong.
Coleman Roughton moved swiftly and skillfully through the corridors of the ship, pausing to check on his motion sensor if anyone should approach him to fast. He was continually wary of a red dot that lingered on the edge of his sensor, some 50 feet behind him. He kept on turning to look behind him into the corridor, but no one was there. He shrugged and kept on. He fingered the shotgun he had acquired, it was too quiet. He heard a beep and then looked down at his motion sensor. The red dot was practically on top of him. He quickly pressed a button priming the detonators in his pack and pulled out his shotgun and fired two rounds directly into the air behind him. The blasting sound filled the halls followed by the scream of an Elite. It materialized in front of him and fell to the ground, clutching a plasma sword. The Elite had black armor, Spec-ops, which explained how it snuck up so quietly. Coleman grinned; he liked swords, no matter what kind they were. He picked it up and stowed it in one of his various pockets, next to the plasma grenades; he liked those also. He quickly looked at his wristwatch timer. He had 10 minutes to get the hell off of Foolish Vendetta, then, it would all be floating space molecules. He sprinted toward the hangar, which was only 200 meters away. He hoped his Longsword fighter was still there, or he would have to steal a Pelican.
3 minutes later, Coleman was standing in the middle of the docking bay, several Elite bodies around him. He flicked off the Plasma Sword, save energy for later. He looked at the wreckage of his Fighter, "Stupid Fuel Rod Cannon, blew the shit out of my ship." He jogged over to one of the Pelicans and hopped in the back, he quickly got the Pelican in the air and moved it out over the Shield Generator, which powered the gravitational field for the ship. He activated the Pelicans chin-gun and filled the generator full of holes. It started to sputter and give off sparks. It then blew up. Every object in the station that was not locked down suddenly flew in the air, and began to hover about six feet off the deck. Coleman flew the Pelican out of the bay, cackling, he wanted to see the Chief survive this.
He was well out in space before the Vendetta began to explode. It started with a small explosion in the MAC gun ammo storage, then the Docking bay. It then spread to the bridge, where the nose of the ship started pointing downwards, and began to drift slowly to the Earth. Coleman laughed once again, but his laugh was not of joy, but of maniacal genius. He flew the Pelican out into space. He turned the Pelican around so it was facing earth and watched the chaos unfold. It started with the Vendetta entering the atmosphere, where most of the excess material burned. The ship then floated, almost lazily, to crash in the middle of Europe, right on London to be exact. The ensuing explosion caused a whirl of smoke to come into the atmosphere. The smoke and dirt then moved around, causing a large storm to form over Europe. Coleman once again cackled and turned the Pelican to space. He was taking the fight to the Covenant, one soldier at a time
