Jake stood over the bloody grass, Jackal's bodies lying on the ground below him. A sick grin had found itself onto his face. This is how he knew that he would never be a human. If he felt fulfilled when he pulled that trigger, then he knew that he would never be a human, that doesn't mean that he would stop trying.
"You were amazing!" Nicole said as she approached him.
"I-" Jake thought about his words. "I know."
"C'mon, I thinks it's safe back home now," she grabbed his hand and they took off into the woods, the two men following them. When they got back to the city, they went up to her bedroom for a while.
The next day Jake and Nicole said their good byes as Jake headed off, he would stop back there every month, and socialize with the friends he had made. He didn't want to leave, it felt awesome talking to Nicole, but he had to find the MC, before it was too late.
Jake had gotten a call that the MC was pinned down somewhere in the Traverse City area. Of course, he didn't even know if the MC was still there. He had gotten the call a few days ago, and he had neglected it until now. He was also interested to figure if The Trinity was still up to something, they might have had multiple Constructs to hide, but only if they were online when Jake destroyed them.
He was about 10 miles down his trail when a bullet whizzed by his head, acting instinctively he drew his gun and hit the dirt. Somewhere around 20 Marines exited the woods, and began searching the area.
"If you find him, kill him," the commanding officer said.
"Roger, sir," the Marines walked near to Jake, but they never found him.
Then, one Marine stumbled over Jake's Battle Rifle, and shouted.
"I've got him!" the Marine yelled out.
"Attack!" the officer said.
Jake stood, and drew his rifle.
"What are you doing?" Jake asked them.
"Direct orders from The Trinity, we have to kill you!" the officer said, and drew his gun.
"The Trinity is still alive?" Jake shouted.
"Yes, alive and well," he grinned. "Let me see them," Jake thought he could manipulate them.
"No! You tried to destroy them last time!" the Marines put his sights on Jake.
Jake grimaced and pulled his trigger, the officer dropped, and the Marines shouted, and began to shoot at Jake. Jake dodged and tried to fight off the Marines, but to no success he gave in to them.
"I surrender!" Jake dropped his gun, and kicked it across the ground.
"SPARTANS don't surrender!" one Marines shouted.
"Well this one does!" another said.
"I say we capture him!" another spoke.
They went up to search him; their guards had been lowered. Jake pulled the pistol out of the closest Marine's holster, and got him in a headlock, using him as a shield. The Marines gasped, and raised their rifles.
"No! Don't shoot!" the captured Marines shouted.
Jake squeezed the trigger, and another Marine dropped.
"No! Don't shoot me!" the Marine squealed.
The Marines hesitated, and finally one shot, and killed his teammate.
Jake squeezed off a couple bullets, still using the body for shielding as the Marines blasted away at the body. Soon the body became useless, and most of the Marines were dead or injured anyway. One last bullet fell to the ground, and Jake pointed at the rest of the Marines.
"Do you wish to die for something corrupt too?" Jake asked the staggered crowd.
"I sure as Hell don't!" one Marine stood out and looked at his brethren.
"I don't either," soon, the whole fleet was stepping up.
"A Survivor City is just down the road, go there," Jake pointed down the trail, and the Marines departed.
Jake turned around, and sighed at the sight of fallen Marines. He continued on, he couldn't wait to see some major action again. He may be soft and cuddly on the outside, but on the inside he was a killer, nothing more, nothing less. He headed up the road, and found a Warthog lying on its side, covered up by some shrubbery. He worked, and finally got it over on its side. He tried the ignition, but he had to hot-wire it in the end. As he drove down the beaten path, he crossed many areas of wreckage and war torn areas. The sight of blood made him thirst for war, but the sight of fallen comrades made him sad, but he must avenge their deaths.
