Now listen up children. SOFK has taken some heat in the forums, so I'm going to do my best to revise it because I don't like being made fun of. And that stupid WARNING banner has been taken off because it was being a butt.
Gariton Military Training Base for Civilians 0900 hours Sergeant Part's Weapons class
He was bored out of his mind. Private First Class Billy Yonz sat at the back of class EVERY day listening to Sergeant Part ramble on and on about what he said in yesterdays class. He knew he should have taken advanced weaponry. He was put on the base in the middle of a field in Colts Neck, New Jersey[Insert not funny and totally stupid New Jersey joke here]so civilians would be prepared if there was an invasion of Earth when the Covenant glassed Reach. He was 5'9 and weighed 200 pounds, had short brown hair, and wore the ODST drop uniform. He had always wanted to be in the Marines, now was his chance.
The room was right next to the armory, his favorite room in the whole facility. It housed everything from Battle Rifles to Sniper Rifles, and even had a corner off captured Covenant weaponry. The base had been on high alert since he got there, and a weekly invasion drill was never out of the question. Sitting in class he heard the alarm sound, and lazily put on his helmet and jogged toward the armory. But when he got half way there, Major Inkozi came over the bases public address system and said,
"This is Major Inkozi, the Covenant have been detected around Jupiter's moon Io, this facility is on high alert. It won't be long until they are hovering right over us. The orbital space grid should take them out, but if they land, everyone be ready to defend this instillation. Inkozi out."
Crap, the base had never gone on a code Red before. He ran into the armory and grabbed a BR55 and some ammo. He knew if they wanted to defend the base, it was going to take a hell of a lot of firepower.

Yonz was still waiting for an invasion. The Major came on the P.A. system twenty minutes ago saying that Covenant capital ships were spotted around Mars, and that six whole pelicans full of Marines would be arriving. Billy knew it was going to get ugly.
Gariton Military Training Base for Civilians 1043 hours Outside the garage "This is Major Inkozi. Covenant capital ships are hovering over Earth as we speak. The orbital defense grid is repelling as many ships as it can, but from the intel I've gotten, one ship has launched a whole battalion of Special Operations soldiers in pods ,similar to what our ODST uses, right at the base. The Pelicans have just about arrived. The soldiers are fully trained Marines, but they aren't battle hardened. If this is the case, we are in for one heck of a fight. Everyone, we must defend this instillation. Inkozi out."
Just then, ten seconds of non ending thuds echoed through almost silent base. Everyone knew what they were, the drop pods. Yonz ran to the nearest door out onto the grounds, and found a squad of five of his classmates were waiting by the gate. "Good to see you Billy, we need someone like you." said Private Kevin Pilak. "It feels pretty damn good to know that I'm appreciated around here." chuckled Yonz as lightly as he could, knowing his life was probably about to end. He was cool about it though. He never wanted to seem to wacked out, he thought it would make the others lose control too. Yonz thought about his life. If he died now, he'd never smell his mothers cooking, or hear his dad's old war stories. He watched as the drop pods slammed into the ground, kicking up dirt and debris were they landed, and his joking attitude, with a little help from his memories, turned to hatred. He hoped the day would never come when he would have to kill for real, but it was now, and he was ready.
The doors to the pods shot open, and the order to fire at will was given. Yonz opened up with his battle rifle, and with the combined effort of his new found squad mates, dropped the closest black clad elite. Naturally, this pissed of the other nine, and they all dropped their Plasma Rifles, and what seemed like the deafening sound of all nine blades powering up shook the recruits right down to their boots, and tore a hole in their hearts. This was suicide.
