Disputes - national: The Integrated Terran Confederation (ITC) is a collection of nineteen colonized planets and moons that declared their independence from the federal government in 2495. After a prolonged conflict which ultimately ended in a stalemate, a peace treaty was signed granting the ITC a great deal of local autonomy, although the federal government refuses to recognize the ITC's claims of total independence. There are also another fifteen known independent human colonies (twelve planets and three asteroids) both inside and outside of human space. Three colonies have also been placed under martial law by the federal government. While an issue in decades past, instances of intergalactic piracy have recently dwindled significantly.

Disputes - transnational: Currently none. No sentient extraterrestrial life is known to exist.
