The Yavin system held a secret: The Shipyards of Yavin Four, alongside several great and ancient temples, were developing top secret ships, guns and other assorted technology. Leading this was Admiral Blake, a well-known leader of the Confederation Navy. He was awarded several medals from his campaigns in the Badlands against the last Rebels, bringing total peace to the Galaxy, and allowing the Confederation to prosper to unprecedented heights.
But, a mysterious foe, residing in another galaxy, grew increasingly paranoid that the Confederation would discover and attack them. Finally, the paranoia drove them to commit a "holy war" against the Confederation. In their crusade, they planned to wipe out all four[Human, Covenant, Taiidan, and Kushan]races. They themselves had only one race. To help, they hired several shadowy Confederation citizens to find out how they could attack most effectively. It worked. The spies told them of a Confed ship with tons and tons of secret documents and files, headed for a base. It was a weak little Corvette; easy pray for the ambush set for it, right over the planet Orion, in Confederation Sector 12...
0700 Hours, November 12, 2783(Confederation Military Time)/ Confederation Corvette Javelin, en route to Yavin System Orion System
Captain Foster watched in the view screen as they passed the only planet in the Orion system. The system was unique, as most stars have more than one satellite. It was inhabited by 1 million colonists in small cities. It could support no more. Sure, it was lush and green, but it was so damn small! It was the smallest planet to be classified so. And the only reason was, a sun could not have no planets.
Seven Alien Battleships, hiding on the uninhabited side of the planet, hidden from Confederation scanners, waited until now. The corvette was preparing to leave the system, when a single laser cannon fired a single shot into the vacuum. It hit the corvette, and the ship buckled. Red klaxons and lights erupted, as a pillar of smoke began to rise from the puncture in the hull. "Initiate Shields! What the hell hit us!?" Barked Foster to his bridge crew, and they set about answering. "A laser blast, sir," Replied the Science Officer. 'Impossible! Space Pirates don't exist, and neither does any unfriendly races in our galaxy!" "Nevertheless, we are under attack," Said the officer frankly. A humming sounded, as an energy shield was projected over the small vessel. "From where!?" Foster got his answer, as the scanners beeped wildly. "7 unidentified Craft emerging from the dark side of the planet!" Yelled another crewman, as he typed. "Hail them!" "No response," Replied the Communications Officer. "Incoming!" Somebody yelled, and several dozen laser blasts erupted on the shields. "Arm weapons. Send out a distress signal to all Confed forces!" "No good. They're jamming us, skipper!" Said a panicked Comm. Officer. "Sir, ships closing fast," Said the Weapons Officer, then a second later added, "We are ready to fire." "All batteries, give the lead ship a taste of hell!" He ordered, and the several laser cannons spewed blasts at the closing ships. "No good. Enemy shields at 99 per cent," Said the Tactical Officer, and another wave of blasts buckled the shields. "And our own are at 60 per cent," He added. "Sir, incoming audio only message," Said the Comm Officer. "We are the Hegemonic Crux, destroyers of all inferior life, like you! Prepare to be boarded, or we will launch Seismic Charges!" "Sir, our shields cannot withstand the charges about to be fired. I scanned," Grimly commented the Tactical Officer. "All stop. Drop Shields and stand down lasers." The Captain said in a low voice, and the officers, glum, did as told. The javelin stopped in its tracks, and three of the massive ships stopped at the Corvette. The others turned and headed towards Orion 1. A shuttle began to work its way down at the Corvette, full of tons of Crux boarders. "Security Teams to airlock 5!" Ordered the 1st Officer. "Aye, sir. On our way," Came over the COMMLINK to Security.
A dozen security troops[armed with XE-34 Blaster Guns with x2 scope] ran up into position, forming a line blocking the hallway with the airlock to the rest of the ship. They took careful aim at the door, as it began to creak. "Fusion torches!" Yelled one, as the door became red hot, then white, hot, then sparks flew, then it began to melt. One of them kicked down the door, and smoke filled the hall momentarily. The Confeds fired blindly into the smoke, and were rewarded with answering fire. The Security troops' fire was blue, the enemies' was red. Then, figures emerged from the smoke. The Crux were 5 feet 7 inches tall, had a humanoid form, and wielded weapons almost identical to Confederation Lasers. They also had double-bladed knives in holsters, but didn't use them. One Security guard fell, than another and another. However, a dozen dead Crux also laid in the corridor, and the number was growing. Finaly, when half of them were dead, they began a fighting retreat down the next hallway and the rooms adjacent. When there were only 3 left, they flat out ran into the next section, then sealed the Lockdown doors. It began to get hot, then melt...
