Location: UNSC Frigate Redemption, en route to Star System Wolf 359 Time: 1200 Hours, November 4, 2554 (Military Calendar)
"Hunters, A Marine uttered the word all Marines fear: Hunters. However, the Hunters were killed before, so the Humans took heart, and readied for battle. The Master Chief charged, MA5B Assault Rifle spraying Covenant warriors with lead. Three Grunts had fallen, and an Elite had got the same deal, when the Chief reloaded, and the other Humans on the scene began to fire. A Hunter attempted to melee the Chief, but the Master Chief's fists were faster and about as strong as the feared Hunters were. The Chief countered another blow, and Smashed the Butt of his MA5B into the Hunter's stomach, and orange blood sprayed out. The Hunter fell, dead. Seeing the mighty Hunters and Elites having a run for their money, the remaining Grunts were having a just plan run. A bullet in the head put down one. Several more bullets, and a FRAG Grenade, killed the rest. Four Marines appeared behind the corner, two holding M2 AS Sniper Rifles, the other two holding MA2B Battle Rifles, smaller versions of the standard MA5B. The bullets let fly, and when it was over, the Covies in the room were gone. A Marine approached the Chief. "Sir," He said, "Captain White is waiting, he sent us to look for you." He threw a salute. "At ease," Said the Chief. "Very good, sir. This way, if you will..." They walked into the Bridge, a large room, with several UNSC Crewmembers at various consoles. There was a pillar in the center, and the Chief took the right side. The Marines stopped following. The Chief approached an officer, who turned around. "Captain White," Said the Master Chief. "Master Chief. Glad to see you awake," Replied the Captain, "However, things aren't going well." He indicated a holo-screen, which had one yellow triangle in the center, and many red circles surrounding it. "Merlin did his best, but we never really had a chance." A voice, along with a holographic image of a man, appeared. "A dozen Covenant Battle Groups, versus one Starblade Class Frigate, with those odds, I'm content with three... make that four, kills." He turned to the Chief; "Did you sleep well?" "No thanks to you're driving, yes," Said the Master Chief. "So you did miss me." He hologram smiled shrewdly. Suddenly, an explosion rocked the ship. "Report!" Ordered the Captain. "It must have been a Covenant boarding party, probably an anti-matter charge," Said Merlin. A Helmsman, turning his head to face them, yelled, panicking, "Sir! Fire Control to the MAC Cannons and Archer Missile Pods off-line!" Well, that settles it. Chief, we will hold them off. You must commander a Pelican, and whatever support you may find. Your mission is to board a Covenant Cruiser, and make sure the other Covenant Vessels aren't monitoring you. You are then to return to Sol System with the cruiser. If any Covenant Vessels follow, your orders are to eliminate them. Once the cruiser is docked at Earth Fleet HQ Shipyard in orbit, you are to report to Admiral Starblade for your new mission. Is this understood?" "I understand," Said the Chief. "Oh, and one more thing." The Captain turned to Merlin. "Merlin, transfer your main CPU to a hard copy for transfer." "Aye, aye, sir," Merlin said, as the hologram disappeared. Five seconds later, the Console produced a disk, Merlin's CPU Disk. The Captain took it. "Chief, the MOLJNR Battle Armor is compatible with Merlin's computer needs. Therefore, in accordance with Cole Protocol, Merlin will be accompanying you on your mission. And, also, he will be able to hack the Covenant Computer system, finding vast stores of info." He handed the Chief the disk, who put it in a slot on the back part of his armor. Merlin's voice came up. "Your architecture isn't that different from the Redemption's..." The Chief found he could chat with Merlin through his neural implants; "Don't get any funny ideas."
Two Marines were standing by an airlock, when suddenly; it blew open with a tremendous force, knocking one Marine dead The other, Sergeant James Peters ran behind a barricade; he now had some cover. An Elite, and five Grunts walked into the hallway, from beyond the airlock. They had begun the boarding! There must be more in the boarding ship, and they're using the airlock, when we go out, they come in! These thoughts were going through Peters, as his MA5B opened up, killing four Grunts, the other fled inside the boarding pod. Three Marines had snuck up on the Blue Armored Elite, and shot a Sniper Bullet in its back, killing it. Peters jumped over the barricade, and congratulated the Marine with the Sniper Rifle. Suddenly, a Plasma Grenade rolled in, killing the three other Marines. Peters fell to the ground, his left leg missing. A Golden-Armored Elite ran in. A quick stab with a Plasma Sword put peters out of his misery. In his last moments, Peters knew he was as good as dead. He was thankful he had a chance to kill some Ungodly Covenant. Then, he thought no more.
