-- AS TOLD BY HUNTER_KILLER --
1143 Hours, November 6th, 2003(Military Calendar)/ Area in Level Two Betrayals, HPC
Looking up into the next area, I told everybody but the Hog's crew to stay put. We drove out, ripping towards the Banshee. CoLd and the Sarge took out their haul of Covies with their weapons on the way. We reached the Banshee. I got out and yelled for them each to hold onto a wing. So they did. And I flew high over the enemies. My Fuel Rods cleaved the whole area, and anything I missed, Johnson's Jackhammer or CoLd's Sniper Rifle got. Once the area was purged, we flew down to and landed on the hill with the Shade. With the door for the Health Pack. There were three, so we all got healthy. When we got out, there was another Banshee in addition to our old one. Each HBOer got an Aircraft, while Sarge hung onto CoLd's wing. We flew up, and took out the few Banshees that came out to play. Then we cleared the Platform to the next Generator. We landed, and went inside. After taking out the enemies, we set up a rocket launcher in a vent, where we would retreat to as the Generator went down(thanks to my memory of the Legendary Guide). I threw the shield into the structure, then picked up the Jackhammer. Some Flood stormed the room, but me and Sarge got most of em. The rest were got by Elf and my's Shotgun as we dropped down. Like before, I picked up the Shield on the way out. As we got out, the Chapter appeared. "The Tunnels Below," Said CoLd in a fake-creepy voice. Now all of us could fly down to the group. The Sarge had to yield his Banshee to Elf. Now, we all flew/drove into the tunnel. We got out, and watched the brutal fight from above. Finaly, the carnage died down, and we bombed the survivors from above. "You know," I said as we continued on, "It's sorta fun watching them tear each other up without our help. That just leaves us with less bullet receptors." We acquired another Ghost to ease the Transportation Problem on the way to the next area. As I flipped the switch, we found out it was broken. It got stuck after opening a little. We un-mounted, and sniped through the opening. A dozen flood came after us, but my 2 remaining Frags cleared that problem up. We moved into the room, and took the Bridge on the right. A large mass of infection forms charged us on one side, as on the other we were flanked by unarmed Infected Elites. "H_K!" CoLd yelled to me, as we desperately retreated and shot, "We don't have shields! That means we're unprotected munchies for the Flood! We gotta pop em!" I responded with a dozen AR Rounds, popping a few of the little guys. Unfortunately, they got to Jenkins before we could stop them. They began to munch on him, reducing his health. In a desperate gambit, I pistoled the little guys on him. They popped, leaving the marine in decent shape. At the end of the hallway, we lost two Marines before we defeated the Flood who had spawned there. I flipped the switch, and we followed the tunnel outside. As we charged into the snow-covered grounds, Elf faked an imperious voice, "The FINAL Run." We took care of the Flood, and took cover as the Banshee attacked us. About now, a Gold elite decided it was a good time to knock. Fortunately, we had enough Rockets to send one up each's ass. Once the enemy had been polished off, we went ahead and watched the battle. The Covenant barely won, and stayed there. A twitchy Grunt attempted to sleep, but couldn't. The Elite was bleeding bad, but tried to look cool and calm. We put them out of our misery, then took the Ghosts and sped off. We entered the next area, and sped straight through the Plasma fire. Flood were getting blasted left and right by Ground Troops and two Wraiths. They didn't stand a chance. We reached the Banshees. This time, there were eight. We just took off, never looking back. We flew to the Nav Point, and bombed these Sentinels into a place worse than hell. We landed, and filled up our empty weapons and health bars. This was it. The last battle for this place. We charged in, and fired Plasma at them in a furious, superheated wave. They fell quickly. These guys must have a soft spot for the Covies, because any Plasma weapon really shreds them. We went inside, and sat down to rest. After several minutes, I had the energy to stick the Shield in the Generator. Mission Accomplished! Spark couldn't fire Halo now! Cortana said, "Good job. All Generators off-line. Preparing to transport..." "Wait!" I said, "Take us to Alpha Base. We need to commandeer a Dropship." "Ok," Cortana dubiously responded. "The teleport needs a massive amount of energy. Needless to say, we should only try this once." We disappeared in a yellow light, and reappeared at Alpha Base. However, it looked... different. Almost... upside down... Me and the others fell on our heads, and shakily got up. "Now I see! The coordinates need to be..." I hit my helmet. Hard. "Right. Sorry." I looked around. Alpha Base was a HUGE wreck. Some serious combat took place here. The Bodies of Flood, Marines, Techs and Elites, along with bullet pockmarks and explosion scorches, were littered everywhere. "Welcome to Alpha Base Command Center," Said a bloody Marine who walked out from a door that had been torn to pieces. "Private 1st Class Fitzgerald reporting, sirs." "What in the blue hell happened here, soldier?" Asked CoLd, as he inspected a broken display unit. "The Covenant launched an all out assault on Alpha Base, right before General Wu left for the Autumn with most of the UNSC Forces on the ring. Then... these things ambushed us! Wu and the others managed to get away, barely. I think I'm the last surviving human here." "Well, now you're in Delta Squad, Marine," I replied. "Are there any more Pelicans docked here?" "Yes sir. Two Pelicans. And a Covenant Dropship was brought down in the bay, too. I think it's salvageable." "Well, gentlemen, let's mount up. We got a plane to catch. And a ring to blow."
