The Rebellion Chronicles: Number One

Ritsucha checked the number of rods in his fuel rod gun. Hmm. Seven rods short. Not too bad, he thought, snapping the compartment shut again. He had been trying to fight a battle without using any fuel rods, and seven was definitely creating a new record for him. Mitsucha, his bond brother, thought it was kind of idiotic, and Ritsucha was annoyed. He started moving toward the supply station. He was with a legion of the Rebellion, and had just helped in the capture of this Covenant facility. The Rebellion was a large number of ex-Covenant that were fighting for their freedom from the Elites and the Prophets, for they had forced the other races to join. The Rebellion consisted of Grunts, Jackals and Hunters. The Brutes were not with them, for they had decided to stay with the Covenant. As this thought drifted past Ritsucha's mind, he felt a surge of anger. Fools, he thought, They would know how bad their mistake was soon enough. He passed a group of sleeping grunts, not being particularly careful to not tread on them. 'Watch it!" yelled a Grunt as he dodged out of the way, but Ritsucha didn't notice him.
The Rebellion had formed about 3 years ago, by their noble and powerful leader, Nuktak. He may seem weak, because he's a grunt, but don't be fooled. He had gained much experience during the early days of the Rebellion. He is therefore battle hardened, and stronger than the S.O. Elites. He was a low-class grunt in the Covenant, and actually pretty shy. However, all that flew out the window when he saw his sister, Roega, slaughtered by a group of Elites, merely for entertainment. He, with his sharp claws, immediately leapt onto the back of the Elite who dealt the mortal blow to his sister and cut his throat. While the Elite gurgled in pain and blood loss and the others looked awestruck, Nuktak blew away another one with his P. pistol, chucked a grenade at another and ran for it. He heard an explosion of plasma and a strangled yell, but he did not look back, and just kept on running. He wasn't fast enough, though, as he had only gone about 20 steps when he felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder, staggered, and fell. he looked up to see a S.O. Elite standing over him with an evil smile on his face(if you can call it a smile, it'd be hard to smile with six jaws). He pointed his rifle at Nuktak, almost pulled the trigger, but... "AAAAAYYYYYYYAAAAAAAHHHH!!!"
Roega, mortally wounded yet still alive, had grabbed the cut-throat Elite's plasma sword, staggered over to the S.O. Elite, jumped on his back and shoved the sword straight through it's back and into it's heart. The Elite fell over, with Roega on his back, still clutching the sword. "G-go, Nuk-Nuk-Nuktak." she muttered, then fell over, a dead body on a dead body. Nuktak wished to stay and grieve, possibly even carry the body out to bury, but he could hear Elite voices coming down the hall, and he could not let Roega's last stand go in vain. he stood up, trying not to use the shot shoulder, and ran for the doorway.
Ritsucha thought of how awful that must have been, seeing your sibling die for entertainment. He shuddered to think if that had happened to Mitsucha, and Ritsucha decided that he didn't care what his bond brother thought of his fuel rod game anymore. The supply Grunt gave him his rods, and Ritsucha started to head back to the Hunter compound.
When he got back, the Hunters were putting all the dead Elite bodies into piles to be burned, the job that the Grunts were supposed to do." Why are we doing this?" he asked Mitsucha ,who was helping, irritably. "The Grunts who did this got back pains, and ol' Yaghad ordered us to do it." Mitsucha replied, chucking an Elite one handed to the top of the pile. Ritsucha grumbled loudly. Yaghad was the Sergeant of this legion, another grunt, and was extremely annoying, barking orders in that high-pitched voice of his. Ritsucha would just love to squeeze Yaghad till he popped, but he was second only to Nuktak himself, so if you messed with Yaghad, you messed with Nuktak, and that's not good. Ritsucha grumbled again, then picked up an Elite, about ready to throw it, but stopped, and listened. "What?" said Mitsucha, seeing him. "Shh!" said Ritsucha. Ritsucha had a very acute sense of hearing, though most Hunters didn't; that was the Jackals job, and Ritsucha noticed that the once patrolling Jackals were stopped and had their ears cocked, listening... Ritsucha listened a little longer, then his eyes grew wide, really wide. Then he opened his mouth to speak. "They're here..."
