Dances With Covenant (LOL! Total rip-off of Dances With Wolves, one of the best movies by Kevin Conster, it got like 4 Oscars. You should watch it.) By DF-Pliskin and Gallagher (Anthony Davis, forum regular at HaloBabies.net and other sites, help us a lot with this too, so we thank him. We also thank MC's Cousin and Nick Kang for constructive criticism with our fanfics, and we also heavily thank Louis Wu and the halo.bungie.org staff who are doing a bang-up job. Now enjoy...) "Sergeant, what the fuck is going on?!" yelled David as he looked at Firebase Charlie through his sniper scope. "I....I don't know....Lieutenant Breslau always keeps his base running at full strength.....where the fuck are the troops?" the sergeant asked himself as he dropped off David and Lieutenant Gallagher Johnson. "Sergeant, leave the area and drive back to Alpha Base. Me and David can hold out here." he said. Firebase Charlie had no walls, and was made up of two buildings and a flagpole in the middle. There was no blood, no bodies, not even blast marks on the ground. "Weird sir...." said Sergeant David Myers as he set down his Oracle 9000XTR Heavy Silent Sniper Rifle and sat down, taking off his helmet, reveling a young blonde man. Gallagher sat down and took off his helmet, reveling a young brown hair man. "Well.....we should clean up tomorrow...this place is a mess..." David said. Gallagher got up and looked around, the countryside reminded him of New Zealand. "Jesus, I could live here..." he said to himself. "Yea...if this war wasn't happening, I could live here too." David said. Gallagher picked up the radio. "This is Swamp-Fox 49 to Big Boy 5. Need recon of the surrounding area." he said. "Swamp-Fox 49, this is Pelican Juliet-045. Doing flyby of the area, out." said the cool voice of Juliet-045. He looked up and saw the Pelican, and the female pilot waving to him. Gallagher and David waved back, and saw her disappear into the horizon.
The sound of the Pelican roaring above them woke them up. "What the hell?" yelled David. Gallagher saw the Pelican land and shut it's engine's down. The door opened, and Juliet-045's pilot, a female women with the tags of Major. "Lieutenant Johnson, I'm Major Davis." she said as she sat down. "You got a medium sized Covenant camp about....25 klicks north from here." she said. "I flew back and got some oridence for you two." she said as she pointed inside her cargo bay. She got them the motherlode. MAB7s, MA57s, Rocket Launchers, flamethrowers, and the Valiant 10000XTR Slug Sniper Rifle. She was even able to give them a portable LRV Light Automatic Gatling Gun. "Wow.....you sure we need all of this stuff?" Gallagher asked. "Uh....yea, you do." she said, smiling at Gallagher. She walked back in her Pelican, and powered it up. "Oh, almost forgot. David, you're wanted by High Command." she said over the loud com. "Roger that!" he yelled, jumping in the cargo bay. Gallagher saw them flying into the distance. He waved. Then he took out a small datapad, and began a diary.
Day one, Sergeant Foxworthy dropped me and David over here, turns out there is no one here. No bodies, blast marks, not even blood. It's like they...vanished into thin air. David had to go back to command, so it looks like I'm alone. Covenant set up camp 25 klicks north of me, according to Major Davis. I think I should see this so called "Evil Covenant Empire". I will find out my course of my actions, good or bad. I have to find out if they are truly "evil". Lieutenant Gallagher Johnson
He laid down on the hard floor of the barracks, and flew asleep.
He awoke startled, then looked around. Just the wind...... he said in his mind. He looked at his watch. 5:06 am. "Sweet Jesus, is it early...." he said out loud. He then got up, and put on his boots and shirt. "Guess it's time to go..." he said. He strapped on his armor and helmet, then got a MAB7, loaded it, and took about 30 clips with him. "Damn, these standard issue UNSC Backpacks hold a shit load of stuff..." he said to himself. He looked at the Valiant 10000XTR. "Hmm....just in case I guess..." he said, picking it up and putting it inside his backpack. He turned around, and looked at the rising sun. His thought's turned to "I'm Leaving On A Jet Plane" from the Armageddon soundtrack. He sighed, then started to walk forward.
10:56 it read on his watch. He sighed, then looked at the green landscape. It had a cooling sense with it. He took out his MAB7, and check out the horizon with his MAB7's scope. Nothing. Not a god damn thing. This is getting weird and scary at the same time... he thought. He sniffed the air, then looked towards the east. A black cloud of smoke was on the horizon. He started to run towards the pillar of smoke.
He saw the dead body of Sergeant Jeff Jones, one of his best friends, mangled and mouth opened, looking very freakish. What the fuck happened here?! He thought. He looked at a damaged Warthog. Can't use that, it's fucked up beyond repair... he thought as he saw the Warthog's front half missing. He saw a Ghost. Hmm.....I think this can work he thought. He jumped in, got comfortable, then pressed some buttons. The Ghost roared to life, and it went forward a little too fast. HOLY SHIT!!! he yelled in his mind. The Ghost jumped off the Warthog, and flew in the air for about 100 yards. Oh my god! Uhh....let's see....Here we go! He said in his mind, pressing a red button. The ghost only got faster, and started to fly. ....Wow...this is peaceful up here.... He thought. The engine started to die. "FUCK!" he yelled, the Ghost stopping in mid-air, then falling down. He madly pressed the engine start button, but it didn't start. "Shit!" he yelled again. It landed smoothly. What the hell? He thought, the Ghost landed without a fuss, and he got out. "Think I should walk..." he said, walking away from the ghost.
4:38. The Covenant camp was not busy, only a few grunts, a group of Elites, and Ghosts. He walked down, the grunts screaming and yelling in Elite language. The Elites turned around, and saw the human. One of the elites walked up to Gallagher. He spoke in broken English. "We don't want your kind here! Leave!" he yelled. Gallagher looked at the grunts, and elites. He sighed, then left. Later that night, the Covenant held a meeting. "It was only one, and it appeared he didn't want to fight." said one of the elites in Gold armor. The red elite yelled out "You're crazy! The humans wanted to kill us, now one of them just appears on our camp?! That says a lot of about that human. He wanted to blow this camp up, that's what he wanted!" the elite yelled. Bickering started between the gold and red elite. "Enough!" yelled another gold elite, though he had different marks on his armor. "Look, I see someone who can vouch for us. To show them at the fanatics are not all the Covenant. He probably tell the human command that this planet is inhabited by friendly Covenant. He probably has food, and might be able to help us for getting rid of the fanatical Covenant presence. That's all I have to say." the Elite said, walking out of the big hut.
9:45 pm. The night sky was cooling to Gallagher. He smiled, drinking a cup of coffee. He looked at the horizon, then smiled, the sun finally dropping below the hills. He heard something, then he turned around. 9 Ghosts, with elites in them, hovered on the horizon, then landed. Two Elites stepped out, one wearing gold armor, the other wearing red. They walked to Gallagher, and bowed in Covenant tradition. Gallagher, realizing that they want peace, not war, return the welcoming. He put his hand forward, as if he wanted the elites to shake his hand. The one with the gold armor looked confused, then, very reluctantly, put his hand ( or paw, we aren't familiar with Elite organs and/or body parts) forward. Gallagher smiled, then shook the elite's hand. They moved to inside the barracks. Gallagher made a attempt to show him how he got there. "Uh...." he said, trying to see how he will do it. He made a shape of the Pelican with his hands, then made the noise it makes. "This guy is nuts..." the red elite said in Elite speak. The gold elite saw what the human was trying to do, and tried to make the shape their dropship looks like. Gallagher saw what the elite was doing, and said "Pelican." then pointing to his hands. The elite said "Pelican." very well. Gallagher smirked. The elite grinned with his mandibles, then looked at his dropship. "Sh...shad....shadow." he said, trying to get the words right. Gallagher was amazingly impressed with the elite's ability to get the words right. Holy shit. This is going good. He said in his mind. The elite tried to say something. "Ho...how...ar...are...yo...you..?" he asked. Gallagher smiled. "Good." he said. The red elite was impressed too. He didn't know his comrade could speak the human's language. Gallagher tried very hard to speak to the elite. "Ho...how are you doing in your pants?" he said, trying to speak elite. The elite didn't remark the comment, since he knew that the human tried to speak to him. The red elite laughed at Gallagher's sentence. He couldn't stop laughing. Gallagher didn't know what happened, so he got up and made them some coffee. The elites shook their heads and left, since it was getting late. Gallagher looked at the 7 other elites waiting on their ghosts. He waved his hand, though not getting a response. He sighed, then went to the barracks. Day 2: I've made successful contact with the Covenant in the area. I'm happy to write that they came back to my camp, and the gold elite kinda understood me. I tried to say something in Elite, but the red one laughed for a while. I think They'll come back tomorrow, and I will find out their names by then. Sadly, David nor the missing men stationed here hasn't come back yet. And I have to say I do miss Major Davis's voice. Well, I should be getting to bed now.
