I would just like everyone to know I will no longer continue the Spartans in NYC series because it does not go along with the actions of the first Covenant invasion of Earth in Halo 2. Sorry that I have not posted in quite some time.
Earth MAC Defense Space Station Thebes 2552(Military Calendar)
All at once it went from the howling echoes of rubber on metal during routine procedures to thundering chaos of metal on metal and the blipping of computer systems and what not. No one knew if it was the real thing or not for the crew has had more simulated attacks than the number of birthdays the commander has had. Ryan knew this was for real, at least thats what his instinct told him. "Lt. Ryan, do you think this is just another drill?" asked Evans, one of his platoons NCOs. The unchanging glare of Ryan's eyes told him this was probably the real thing. Sgt. Evans had seen that glare only twice. The destruction of Reach and the at Altar Sigma, where only he and Ryan survived the drop onto that planet. It was the dazed glare, as if you were looking toward the sky in spotted God but instead of gazing at the sky Ryan just looked straight forward, no matter what object it was. "Lt. Ryan, Lt. Ryan of A Company, 506th ODST Regiment. Please report to the bridge," blared out from the speaker system. "Sergeant, you organize the men and get them to their battlestations. I'll be back as soon as possible." Evans ran off toward the platoon's barracks as Ryan trotted to the bridge, skipping the slow station transit system. As he entered the bridge he knew he was right. Captain Takahita always stood off to the side during simulations, allowing his junior offivers to train. Now, he was standing right in front of the holomap with a grave expression on his face. "Lt. Ryan," Takahita said in perfect english, "as you might have guessed the Covenant are here." Ryan could already tell the captain was going to skip formalities and go right to the situation at hand. "Only fifteen capital ships and several dozen smaller vessels are present in their fleet. Because of the small size of their fleet I believe they're going to board the MAC stations to give their carriers are straight shot at Earth. I have no idea what they intend to do but they must be stopped. We are going to try to stop at least one main ship with the MAC and then board it and figure out what their mission is. If we can disable one ship the 506th will board and seize it. The 2nd Battalion, here now will lead the assualt and your platoon will go point. I now what happened to your platoon at Altar Sigma but you did accomplish your mission before they were killed." "Captain," shouted the radar operator, "eight-teen bandits heading our way. They appear to be boarding craft. They're going to land at Section 4C, Levels Three through Seven." "Ryan, get your platoon down there," said the captain. "If we're going to board an enemy ship you'll get the word. The go code for the operation is 'Phoenix Storm'. Dismissed." Ryan saluted and ran out the door. He got to his quarters and suited up. He donned his black fatigues, body armor, and 'Raider' helmet. The helmet was given that name because it was black with a silver face mask, the same colors of the Oakland Raiders. He then ran down to the armory, picked up and rifle, pistol, grenades, and several magazines of ammuntion. He finally got to his platoon, exactly four minutes after he left the bridge. "Master Gunnery Sergeant Evans! Organize the platoon, we're going to Section 4C, Level Five." "Sir, how many Covenant we gonna be up against," asked First Sergeant Putin. "Unknown, but expect a force of at least two platoons." "Alright men, you heard the man, we gotta get moving. Let's go go go," bellowed Evans as the platoon raced down the corridor to to engage the Covenant. As they reached their destination they deployed into fire teams. They were in a store room. A large one that held large tools are parts used to repair the station. Ryan took up position with his CompOp by the only window in the room. It was a small window, only 2'X 2'. As he looked out he saw two boarding craft heading for the room they were in. A loud thud was heard by the wall, a round red circle sprang to life on the wall. The men raised their rifles and waited, sweat dripping behind their face masks. Just as the glowing circle was as bright as the Sun a thundering explosion echoed throughout the room as the metal inside the circle blew off the wall. Several grenades were tossed in from the corridor connected to the station. Just after they exploded a squad of Jackals followed by Grunts came out the dark corridor. Behind them the deep growls of Elites could be heard. Ryan was the first to respond and started firing at the enemy. Several grenades were thrown as bullets, explosion, and plasma riddled the store room. Within seconds all the Covenant was dead or dying. A marine ran up and threw a grenade into the corridor and exploded. Ryan looked out the window and saw that the corridor was pressurizing, preparing to undoak from the station and depressurize it. Evans saw what was happening and ran to the door they came in from. He opened the panel next to it and pressed one of several buttons. A large wall sprang down from above and covered the portion of the wall where the section was blown out of. Just as the safety wall locked into place the corridor was disconnected and the boarding craft flew away. Ryan looked back out the window and saw two more boarding parties heading directly toward them. He knew they weren't out of it yet. The Invasion of Earth had just begun.
