Dr. Farnsworth entered Chief Mendez's office, the Chief was in his chair, chewing on a cigar. The Doctor closed the door and sat down. "So, what is it exactly you wanted to talk about Doctor?" The Chief asked.
"You are of course the chief who trained the Spartan-II Series?" The Doctor inquired.
"I am, but I swore to myself I'd never train another group of them, not after what happened the first time, why?"
"Well, with what might be the entire Covenant Fleet orbiting Earth, and them dropping hundreds of fresh troops down daily the UNSC is hard-pressed. We need more soldiers like the Master Chief, the enlistment has gone up dramatically but that's not good enough, we're asking you to train another set of Spartans,"
The Chief stared but once the shock of the statement passed he said sharply. "You'll never be able to keep a project like that hidden, not with us reduced to one planet to cower on,"
"We don't plan to keep it secret. Your right, we couldn't anyway but the thought of extinction will force public opinion. Were desperate Mendez, people know it, the Covenant know it, and if we don't do something, were all going to die,"
"So were selecting another round of kids to undergo the same treatment as before? Is ONI out of its mind? If people knew what happened behind the scene's of the first series that I trained it would be revolt if it wasn't for the damn alien fleet up there with troops landing on the surface,"
"We can barely hide anything about the next series, we're going to have to revise the training,"
Mendez took the cigar out of his mouth looking at the doctor. "I'm listening,"
"We revised the whole plan, even the first stages. The kids won't be kidnapped, they will be interviewed, then, with the signing of papers from there parents, the subjects will be brought here for training, they will have gradual physical training but still challenging, after a five week training period they will continue to more advanced training, weapons, hand-to-hand, and other combat training. The training will continue for ten months, then they will be augmented, the augmentation itself has been greatly improved, though there is a certainty of subjects washing out, the numbers will be smaller however. After they have recovered from the augmentation they will go through therapy, and more training to get used to the changes we have done. Finely we will outfit them with the MJOLNIR armor, in total the training process will only take two, maybe three years. Because of this shortened training the subjects need to be older in order to develop the maturity for the situations we will be putting them in. Other differences are that the subjects will be able to keep both a written and video dairy, which will be studied for any psychological problems,"
"And you asking me to lead this half-assed attempt at survival, aren't you?" Mendez said.
"Sir, you have years of experience that other officers severely lack. The UNSC could find no better man,"
The Chief put the cigar back in his mouth and chewed on it before replying. "Hell, I'll do it, but this is it, and I don't mean training series of these kids, I'm retiring after this is over,"

Interview Session Beginning
I still don't see what this is for? Is it for a TV show or something? Alright, alright. I'll do this, but I better know what is going on by the time this is over. I grew up here, in Kenya, now were one of the few towns that haven't been torched by those little green men from Mars. Yes, this is the getto, you look outside you see kids my age doing drugs, getting into trouble, getting arrested, getting killed, those aren't my friends, I don't want to end up in the slammer like my dad. Is this for a documentary? No I have never done drugs, I haven't smoked and I haven't drank. Ever. That's how the other kids start, they start stealing they're parent's cigarettes and then there start stealing beers, and before the even know it the drug dealers have them. Look, look out the window, see those kids? Drug dealers, they aren't my friends, there only friend is a needle. Better to have no friends then to have a needle for one that slowly poisons you. There not leading a life, there leading a death, a slow, slow death.
That's all I'm going to say now. What is this interview for?
