It had been, at least a Month since the Master Chief destroyed Halo 04. He believed the Flood to have been destroyed, but on the other side of the ring, the Flood had infected vast ships and were ready to leave. Human, covenant, all vessels were infected with them. And with only a few hours to go, the Flood' had started up the ships and were on their way to their goal of a galactic infection. The ship's had only just left when the ring exploded! With great power and strength most of them were sucked away in to dust, but one had just made a successful jump. The small ship went slowly through the many star systems. It then turned towards a planet that, to the infected being inside, looked like a good place to support life. Suddenly the pod was filled with voices on the radio, with people trying to communicate outside, with, what they thought were a group of wounded marines. They read some weak Human life signs on an advanced Thermal vision sensor, and some others what they believed to be captured Covenant Beings.
The ship came crashing down from the sky. A farmer caught a glimpse of it. He got out his Shotgun, loaded it up, and aimed it at the ship. 'Hello? ,' Asked the Farmer, 'is anyone there?' He opened the door and, to his astonishment, there was nothing there. He went further in, to find anything of value, but nothing of interest was found. He was about to turn around, and leave, when, he heard an unfamiliar sound. Sounds', a bit like growling. He turned around to see monsters, some, far larger than he was. And some, about the size, of a soccer ball. All of them, standing on the shaft-way. He screamed as loud as he could, but no one could hear him. Then his screams turned into growls, as he too and everyone else nearby became part of the new over-spreading Flood' virus! In merely a few hours, the Flood' had infested all of the nearby farms, and almost all of the city of Wakefield. A resistance operation went terrible, when a group or infection forms hid inside a weapons silo, and took most of the civilians. Even worse, a pack of warrior forms threw grenades at the resistance front. By the end of the day, over eighty-six, of one hundred Civilians and thirty-five local Marines were already dead.
'This is Sergeant Foster, assistance is needed', called a sergeant to his intercom; 'Calling reinforcements,' cries could be heard in the background. 'Repeat, Calling reinforcements.' A Voice could be heard faintly, at the other end, 'This is Colonel Bradley, sending in reinforcements...' A loud Engine muffled up the rest of his words, as a group of, at least twenty, fully loaded Pelican Drop ships, all mounting Scorpions, and Warthogs, suddenly appeared over the high Towers. '
Is that, enough for You? ' Asked the Colonel. Shot's from the Tanks caused people to cover their ears, 'Yes! That's enough'. The members of the Resistance movement, all picked up their weapons, and climbed into their vehicles, ' and, now. Go. Go. Go!' All of the Vehicles drove off in every direction, to retake the city. During this operation, five Warthogs were taken. Eight Civilians were infected, and, two Scorpion Tanks were destroyed when a Flood Warrior got its hands on a Rocket launcher, that a, now deceased, Marine was carrying. Sergeant Foster was driving along in his own Warthog and pointing out target. 'Buggers, Nino o'clock' he'd say, or ' We've got a Pack in front'. He'd Use words like these, and his men would follow every order he gave, this always made him happy. 'Jackson! Quit chatting up, and shoot the hell out of those things' he said, to a Private, that didn't usually pay attention.
The Sergeant's Warthog drove towards the local Port, which contained most of the Cities supply of drop ships that were not used since shortly before the infestation. He got out, as it made a quick stop. 'Marines, move up'. The Marines got out of their Jeeps and ran inside the building. Shots and screeches and groans, all could be heard outside. After a few minutes of quietness, a voice came on Foster's intercom, 'Area cleared Sergeant, You're ready to come in now'. He ran inside the building with a few spare soldiers, all of them still carrying their shotguns and assault rifles in a ready to fire position, and entered the Pelican hanger. There, he, along with the others, saw a large pile of bodies; Human, and Flood. He looked around, all was still silent, and nothing moved for five minutes, until a Pelican's engine turned on. Foster aimed his gun at the drop ship. Something came out, 'Hello Sergeant Foster' said a Marine with his hands covered in blood. 'Jesus! Don't sneak up on me like that! Why were you keeping quiet, when your commanding officer was looking for you?' his face looked angry. 'Huh, you know I don't like it when people sneak up on me! ' He stared down at the Corporal his face looked angry, ''well, shall we get in then?' he turned around at a few other soldiers, 'And you aswell, were all leaving this City.' He got in the pelican waited a few seconds for the others to get in, 'And
Now.' The drop ship took off and left the city, hopefully for good.
