The Huntress
Date: 4 April 2004, 12:48 AM
(I'm not too good with Elite names, so sorry for that!)
Nayomi stood in the cold, white snow. It seemed to calm her for some odd reason. She looked proudly down at her gold armor she had just received. She was well on her way to becoming a Special Op, and hoped the Covenant would not discover her secret.
They did not allow women to fight with them. They said it was for protection, but the real reason was that they thought women were just a nuisance and would get in the way. But they were wrong. Nayomi was better than most of the Elites. She was smaller in size, but that gave her an advantage:speed.
Nayomi was assembled in a line, with some Covenant from many squads. Two banshees lay motionless behind her, one from which she had come in. She had received a call that many flood were well on the way, and they had built up a small army to fight the flood. There were Phantoms, Jackals, Grunts, Elites, and Shades to help. Plus, there were Hunters on their way, and that would be more than enough to defeat this enemy.
Nayomi had stalked up on supplies before coming, and had chosen a plasma sword as her weapon today. But, just in case she, brought an extra plasma sword, and a plasma rifle if things got hectic. The soft blue glow of the plasma sword made a dim light in the white snow, and she shifted a bit. A wisp of wind caught Nayomi, but it didn't bother her. She was used to the cold.
A gurgle broke the silence; the flood were here. The Covenant lines had broken out into fire immediately, a few being taken out by a rocket launcher. If someone didn't do something fast, that rocket would do too much damage, and the Covenant wouldn't stand a chance. Nayomi ran up to the front, barely dodging another incoming rocket, and slashed the flood combat form who was causing such an annoyance. But more had already started a brutal onslaught. There were too many! The Phantom operators had finally processed what was going on and sent a deadly blast to a group of flood. Nayomi slashed at every flood combat form that came at her, trying to block all of the vines. A group of flood jumped on her, and started whipping her, draining her shields horribly. Elites and Grunts around her were being taken out all around her. She could hear the scream of a Grunt as it's weak armor was pierced with a shotgun bullet. Nayomi tried to struggle free, but the flood were too strong. She slashed at the nearest flood banishing it, then the next, until all of them were gone. The flood had already taken out one of the Phantoms, and were concentrating most of there fire on the next. Nayomi deactivated her plasma sword, and equipped her plasma rifle. First she chucked a plasma grenade behind them, so as not to damage the Phantom any more. Before she could start firing she was slammed into the snow again. She looked up to see a mutated Elite standing over her, its shotgun aimed straight at her chest. It happened so fast; shotgun bullets were being fired into her at such a close range, that she could hardly move. Her shield was drained completely. The Flood combat form would finish her off soon. She tired to get up, but couldn't. It was the perfect chance! It was reloading. It leveled the shotgun back to her. She had to survive. Pulling back her strength, she smacked the stupid thing off of her. Her shield recharged slowly back to full, and she sent plasma into the Flood that had pinned her, and was careful not to make it over-heat. The form that had infected it was disintegrated by the raging plasma, and the nuisance didn't get up. More were coming, still. Nayomi chucked a grenade left, and continued fighting the other Flood without looking to see if the grenade had been successful. She continued raging plasma on the Flood, taking only a few out, but they got up again feeling no pain. Human and Covenant blasts were downing her shield by the second, and there were only a few more Elites and Jackals. Nayomi hadn't even noticed that the Hunters had been to help, but they were dead now. They may have killed a group of Flood, but there were still more on the way. She heard an Elite yell as it died, and fired it's last few shots, piercing the snow. She peered over to the Banshees, still in good shape. She had to try to get over there. It was here only hope of survival. She switched back to her plasma sword, and fought her way through the swarm of Flood. Bullets drained her shield ever so often as she struggled through them. She finally reached a Banshee, her shield have drained, climbed inside, and took off immediately. The Banshee had already been damaged a little a bit. She unleashed a deadly barrage of plasma on the Flood below, and a fuel rod blast every once in a while. They just kept coming! The last Elite on the ground died, and Nayomi was the only one left. She turned back to fly down, but a rocket was racing towards her. She jumped out without thinking.....
The Huntress (part 2)
Date: 6 March 2005, 12:13 AM
...the banshee exploded behind her, and crushed a group of Flood below. Nayomi was doomed, plummeting towards the ground, she would soon die. Maybe not! The Flood were gathering right below her. It all happened so fast; she grabbed her plasma sword, landed on a mutated Elite, and stabbed the infection. The Flood around her had already plummeted her with bullets and plasma, piercing her armor. Dark, purple blood streamed down her gold armor. Now she was mad; usually she wouldn't care, but the Flood angered her enough by just existing.
The gash was pretty big, and she was sure she was going to die. But she couldn't! She had to show the Covenant what women could really do. She blocked most of the shots with her plasma sword, and sent a deadly barrage of plasma down on the Flood. Now there were just ten Flood, including the ones that were getting back up. Her shield was almost back to full, but she was still bleeding. She was dizzy, and fell to her knees as the Flood gathered around her. The infections were now coming, but she held the gash tight. They would not infect her! She couldn't bare the thought of becoming one of them, killing for no reason. They were reaching under her fingers, almost touching her wound, but she couldn't do anything about it. If she moved she would be showered with plasma and bullets....Pop! The infection was gone. Nayomi looked up in surprise, and saw four special Op Elites, now concentrating their fire on the remaining Flood and infections. Needles and plasma showered the Flood, and an occasional plasma grenade. Nayomi watched in amazement, as they took out the rest of the Flood. It took a matter of five minutes to take them all out, but Nayomi had a feeling there would be more on the way.
A tall black Elite helped her up, but she still felt a little dizzy from the shotgun shells.
"I am Rcnu 'Zimulee, from the Truth and Reconciliation Squad--" he stopped abruptly, his eyes on Nayomi's gash. "We'll have medical assistance on the way, don't worry. Now let me take a look at it..."
He reached to take her armor off, but Nayomi jerked away. If he saw under her armor, he would find out her secret. She couldn't let that happen.
"What's your name?" He sounded suspicious
"I am Imnu 'Irtadee." That was her real name. (I decided to give her a real Elite name, since the one I chose before I knew about that site was pretty gay.) "How did you know I was here?"
"We had finished up our battle, and could hear shots coming from this direction. So we thought we'd come help." He kept his eyes on her gash.
"Thanks." She shook off her dizziness.
"No problem. Are you sure you don't need something to cover that up?"
"I'm fine, just a little dizzy-"
A sniper shot hit Rcnu right in the head, a trail of thin mist leading to him. He fell to the ground, and all of the other Elites started moving around so as not to get shot. But where did it come from? The Flood hadn't figured out how to use sniper rifles yet, and there weren't any more humans left......except for the Master Chief. Nayomi had encountered him before, but had to run. She wasn't scared, but she had to. She had gotten a distress call, and had to go help with the Flood. But she remembered how he was almost invincible. If she came across him, she would just have to take him out.
She scrambled out of her thoughts, and started moving around, looking for the Chief, or whatever had killed Rcnu. She sprinted from rock to rock, and carefully searched for the sniper. She made sure she didn't go to the next rock too soon, or stay there too long; she had to time everything just right. Imnu started to get dizzy again, and had to stop to rest for a minute. She knew that she was in a very dangerous situation, but she didn't feel like she had the strength to go on. She didn't know how long she had been sitting there, and she hadn't heard any sniper shots in a while. She started to move from her spot, but before she could completely stand up, something hit her in the neck, knocking her out.
When she woke up she saw one of the Special Op Elites' standing over her. As she started to get up, she noticed that her armor was off; he knew.
Note:sorry it took me so fricken long! i've just been really busy w/ school and practicing and stuff.
