Halo 2, The Secret by Michael Montazeri

Chapter 1: Home, Earth.

It was time, the Master Chief was alone, on Earth, back home. Dr. Halsey had taken Kelly somewhere, and this had been on John's mind since they returned to Earth. It has been three weeks, and nothing is the same. Only 5 Spartans remain from the 75 children chosen. 70 of them are gone, none of them returning, all John's friends, his teammates. The battle at the Unyielding Hierophant was a success, but John knew the Covenant were coming back. While back on Earth, Master Chief had his MJOLNER armor upgraded and has been shown a good amount of new weapons. One of them being a gun mounted on the Warthog, called a Gauss Rifle. He had been told that it was similar to the MAC cannons, just giving up power for energy. A new rifle, shown to him before was truly explained. The gun, named the battle rifle resembled a mixture of the Assault Rifle and the Pistol. With a 2 times zoom and a strong bullet, it was a good choice for John. The 2 other weapons were the SMG, a little non-accurate yet very fast firing little gun and another pistol, resembling a Magnum. For some reason John had never seen it before, as if it had been a prototype. It had a huge barrel and bullet, and it packed much more of a punch than the other pistol, yet it had no zooming mechanism.
When John woke up, he felt an explosion and jumped up and ran to Linda and Fred. They got ready and armed and went more upstairs, heading the bridge. They ran into an OSDT halfway up the stairs, and he told them that the covenant have attacked, and that the army is now at war. Fred and Linda were taken away for another mission, and John was needed once again, on a solo mission. He grabbed a Battle Rifle and a pistol, and armed himself with stun grenades. He had to infiltrate a covenant cruiser, alone. He opened the hatch from his space station, and looked out. "What if you miss?" asked Cortana. "I won't." replied the chief, jumping out of the space station. He could then see the bubble shaped cruiser straight below him. He barely grabbed onto a ledge on the ship and look for a hatch, but couldn't find one. He pulled out his pistol and shot a hole. The bullet of the pistol shot straight through the hard covenant steel. He jumped into the ship and quickly spotted two grunts, which he immediately took out with his battle rifle.
The trip in the ship was long, and the Chief was preparing for a difficult foe, one of the Brutes that he had seen on the Unyielding Hierophant. Their incredible strength and their grenade like plasma guns. It was all smooth in the ship until he found two elites that were much more different. They had a purple gun, and they actually looked like they were sniping Master Chief when he took them out with his Battle Rifle, but unfortunately the last Elite, right before he died hit the Master Chief with an absurdly hot plasma bolt. It went right through the MJOLNER armors shield. He had to watch out for that weapon. The Chief walked up to the gun and grabbed it, and looked at it. It's zoom mechanism was very odd and the Master Chief did not understand it well. He then realized that he had to look through it in a special position. It had insane different types of zoom. It went from like times 3 to times 20. It was so crazy, the master chief picked it up dropping his pistol, which wasn't as useful as this sniper, because the Chief realized that with this covenant sniper rifle, he could take many enemies out, with this insanely powerful zoom mechanism. He hadn't fully figured it out yet.
The trip to the Bridge of the ship was difficult. He had met many of those sniper elites, yet his Battle Rifle prevailed. He truly loved this new rifle, and he had finally reached the entrance to the bridge room. The door opened and four Brutes were just standing there, with charged plasma fire from their mini grenade launchers. He jumped out, threw 2 fragmentation grenades, and cleaned two Brutes, yet the other ones hit the chief. His shields were down, he ran out of shots in his clip, dropped his rifle and took his sniper rifle out. He jumped and fire at the head of a Brute. Lucky shot, it died. He wished that Linda was with him. He remained alone, against the last brute and stuck a plasma grenade on it. Lucky throw, but the Brute started running towards the Chief trying to get the Chief to die also. Chief started running and then he fell unconscious.
Chief woke up in the same room, and Cortana told him she shocked him awake. He then went to the controls and set the Havok nuke. The reason he had this ship, because the scientists thought this was one of the most important ships, it was a flagship, believed the Chief. It was time, he shot a hole out of the area, turned his jetpack on and jumped out the window. It was time for a zero-gravity escape. He pressed forward on the new jetpack, and to his surprise, it was super fast. He started flying toward the rendez-vouz pelican. When he arrived they flew off as fast as possible. The Havok Nuke set off and destroyed about 50 covenant ships in the area, and luckily, the shockwave did not reach Earth. The Chief then realized that that ship wasn't the right one, and out of camouflage a giant ship appeared, half gone, and at the tip a figure on a floating chair. A voice appeared in the Chief's head. It said : "Stupid human, you're destruction is the will of the gods, and we are their instrument, the holy weapon will be ours." It then cut off.
The holy weapon, what did that mean, who was that, and how did they get into the Chief's MJOLNER armor. The Chief was in a pelican filled with marines, and Sergeant Johnson. They were heading for an area deep on earth covered with Covenant, in South Africa, named New Mombasa.
Chapter 2: The Past Revealed

New Mombasa, totally under covenant control, needed the chiefs help. At arrival he set off, with his battle rifle. Looking around he saw a huge covenant cannon stationed on a building. A quick call to longswords took it out. He arrived to his first usage in a gauss rifle warthog. He loved this little mini Mac, but was the vehicle was taken out by two Brutes. A melee on one and well placed battle rifle shots took down the other. A ghost approached, and Chief wanted to try a new trick. He jumped on it and kicked out the driver, hijacking the ghost. He loved it. He was then chased down a long area and had to jump off the ghost, he had to make it under a door that was closing.
He got up and saw a coffin-like box fly down from the sky. 6 more came down and the tops detached, and in each was an elite was a plasma sword. One swipe would take him down. He took out his plasma. "Bet you can't stick it." Said Cortana. "You're on." He replied, and threw a plasma on the elite cluster to his right and stayed back holding his gun. He sprayed a couple SMG burst at the elites while the grenade killed 4 of the 7. He jumped to the now empty right side and grabbed a plasma sword. He had never used one before, but it was his only chance at killing the other three. He leaped forward and slashed two, but was cut by the final elite on his left arm. It barely missed his skin, and with a quick turn of the body, he beheaded the final elite. Wow he loved this new sword, and he put it to his side, keeping his battle rifle and dropping his SMGs.
Cortana then pointed out a huge covenant cruiser they needed to board. They approached the gravity lift stealthily, and then saw something crazy. A havoc missile hit the cruiser, it was coming straight down. Chief pulled down his gun and started sprinting, but it was falling too fast. It hit the ground beside the chief, but a hole created by the fall caused Chief to fall deep into a hole, with his armor take damage. He finally reached a bottom, but the gigantic cruiser was no where in sight. He looked around, and all he saw where strange holographic writings and a tunnel.
Chief entered the tunnel with doubt and fear, but after a mile of walking, realized it was safe. It was beautiful, he never knew of any place like this on earth. He finally realized he was going downhill, but it felt fine to him. He then saw it, an orb, a round orb he could fit in his helmet slot. He picked it up, and out it in. No trap nothing. Cortana then told him: "The holy weapon, you are holding it, I now understand, this holy weapon holds the power to wipe out a specific race, it has the power to wipe us out, to wipe out the covenant, but only the prophets know how to use them, and they won't be telling us anytime soon. We have to go back up to earth, and find a way to draw the covenant away using this.
Chief understood, but realized that the exit was swarming with Covenant, and it struck him, they were coming down, a ship worth of covenant. He had to find another exit. He searched this round room in which the orb was. Opposite to the door he entered was another door. He followed that corridor down and it felt like he was still going downhill. They kept walking when they heard a loud sound. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH" , the voice of an elite, they found the orb missing. Chief had to run, he didn't want to encounter another army like the one on Reach. He ran as hard as he could until there was a dead end, but he saw a purple light above him, and the rocks above started to move. He backed away from the light, and the rocks above him were pulled out. He looked above and saw what he feared the most, another covenant cruiser with a gravity lift. He had no choice but to back up the other way, he couldn't risk being surrounded. He turned, and a massive amount of heat passed by his head. An overcharged plasma shot. They had found him, and he pulled out his plasma sword, it was time for some close range mayhem.
