------------------------------------------------------------
[The screen remains black for a few long moments before The Matrix code starts scrolling downward in its usual green "text". But a second later the code turns red and stops abruptly so the code spells out Arc Haven Studios. The screen flashes silver and fades in to show the blackness of space with a lone Longsword bomber drifting slowly toward the screen.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: They are called the Covenant-
[The screen flashes briefly to show a Covenant Elite trooper scream toward the heavens.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: A mixed group consisting of several different alien species, all with technology far advanced beyond our own; Technology that can destroy worlds. Reach was a small example of this.
[The screen flashes again to thousands of Covenant starships flying toward then past the screen, revealing the charred planet that was once Reach floating in the dead of space behind them.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: It's been nearly forty years since the Covenant first appeared, and until now we thought there wasn't a thing worse then the Covenant, not until my crew and I encountered the Flood on the ring world of Halo.
[Various segments showing Marines battling both the Covenant and the Flood on Halo are shown for a few seconds.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: In the end Halo had to be destroyed to prevent the Flood from spreading.
[A black and white scene of Halo being rocked by a giant explosion that eventually tears it apart is shown.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: Ever since then, the Covenant has pursued us relentlessly--
[Cut back to the Longsword floating in space. It floats peacefully there for a few moments before the camera zooms out to show a giant Covenant frigate bearing down upon it.]
CORTANA'S VOICE: Thank God that we managed to call for some back up.
[The frigate above the drifting bomber suddenly has two massive holes punched into its sides. Soon afterward, as the burning Covenant frigate sinks off screen, a starship similar to the late Pillar of Autumn with the words "Phoenix's Kiss" painted on the side appears above the fighter and starts to bring it in with its tractor beam. The scene changes to show a long hallway with many marines standing off to each side. The camera zooms in to show a door open up at the end of the hallway; in which the Master Chief walks through. There's a loud clacking sound as all of the marines snap their heels together and salute the Master Chief.]
SERGEANT: Spartan on deck!
MARINES: Hooah!
[The scene changes to show Master Chief on the bridge of the Phoenix's Kiss speaking to a man who must be the ship's captain.]
CAPTAIN: Welcome back from the dead Master Chief. Good to see you. I am afraid you will have to wait for some much needed R&R. The situation is grim. The colony world of Fenris 4 has fallen under Covenant attack and we need your skills to help take them down.
[As the captain is saying this, the scene fades in to show hundreds of Marines as well as other Spartans being loaded onto Pelican class dropships.]
CAPTAIN'S VOICE: We estimate it's a full scale invasion. Nearly two million Covenant troops backed up by three hundred starships of varying classes.
[As the captain's voice says this, the camera cuts to an outside view of the Phoenix's Kiss. The sides of the ship open to show all of the Pelican Dropships warming up their engines as personnel in zero-g suits direct them to their launch stations with crimson glow sticks. Since the Pelicans are launching from both sides of the ship, the audience can see out the other side of the hanger: a gigantic space battle between human and Covenant forces taking place over a world covered in snow.]
CAPTAIN'S VOICE: Their tactics seem different this time though... It's almost as if they want to control the planet instead of glassing it. We've managed to hold our own but we're slowly losing ground. Thirty-five percent of our orbital fleet has been wiped out. Our ground forces have been scattered across the planet, so it's uncertain as to how many are left.
[As the captain's voice says this, the many Pelican Dropships depart the belly of the Phoenix's Kiss and are soon dodging and weaving through the crossfire between the battling armies.]
CAPTAIN'S VOICE: Your mission, Master Chief, is to reunite and rally as many of the surviving ground forces as you can and help come up with a plan to drive the Covenant off world. Reinforcements are already on route from Earth but they won't be here for another seventy-two hours, at the least.
[As the captain's voice says this, the Pelican Dropships from the Phoenix's Kiss enter the atmosphere of Fenris 4 and are soon being bombarded by Covenant AA cannons. Cut to the inside of one of the Pelican Dropships to show the Master Chief calmly looking at the many marines around him. Cut once again to an outside view as three Pelican Dropships land in a clearing by a frozen lake, many other Pelican Dropships soaring overhead, some of which explode in mid air from AA fire. The backs of the Pelican Dropships open and Marines start pouring out by the dozens.]
[The sound of a heartbeat starts at the same time the screen starts to flash black then return to normal, so the sound and the visuals keep in tune with each other. UNSC Marines and some Warthogs speed by the screen as the camera zooms slowly toward the Master Chief. When the camera reaches him, the Master Chief looks at the screen just in time too show one of the troop carrier class Warthogs explode; reflected in his visor. The camera zooms out and does an 180o to show a hundred Covenant troops positioned on the other side of the lake. The camera once again zooms up to show a black colored Elite raise his Plasma Rifle above his head and shout--]
BLACK ELITE: VOH TISH VAR RACH'ED!!!!
[And with that said the hundreds of Covenant troops start to rush toward the Master Chief and his Marine comrades.]
MASTER CHIEF: Here we go again...
[(Redrum by Immediate Music starts up at 00:20) Cut to a scene that shows three Banshee attack fighters coming toward the screen with their weapons blazing. Before the lead Banshee impacts the scene switches to follow a group of Marines running blindly through the woods as sapphire laser fire flashes past them. Next scene shows a Spartan leap from a burning Pelican Dropship in mid air and begins to freefall through the clouds to the distant snowy ground. Another scene shows a pair of Hunters and a trio of Elites blast their way through a door and into a hallway lined with Marines, which instantly open up on the beasts with their weapons.]
[A quick shot shows a man in long brown robes with bloody sockets for eyes look up and scream toward the heavens. The next scene shows a Warthog being pursued by around five Covenant Ghost recon vehicles as it speeds along frozen tundra. Another scene shows three GIANT crab-like mechanized walkers (Covenant Epoch Class Assault Mechas) tromping across a snowy field as missiles and tracer fire soars past them. The next scene shows a Warthog speeding down the street of one of the larger cities on Fenris 4. Suddenly a Brute leaps onto the hood of the vehicle from out of nowhere but the gunner simply swivels the laser cannon turret around and fries the head off of the monster, causing it to lose it's grip and fall under the tires.]
[Another scene shows a Phantom strafing a human blockade. A moment later the camera focuses on a behind view of a Scorpion battle tank as it turns its turret and destroys the entire front section of the Phantom with its main cannon. Another scene shows a Marine shove his shotgun into the mouth of a Jackal and blow its brains out, the recoil of the blast sending the dead beast backward into a cluster of its allies. The next scene shows a group of Spec Ops Marines, led by Master Chief, effectively skiing down a slope and opening up on a group of Covenant Grunts below them with their Battle Rifles, sending the funny sounding creatures flying backwards, riddled with bullet holes. Another scene shows a cloaked Covenant Elite with twin plasma blades on each arm leap down from nowhere and rush past two Marines. The two marines stand still for a moment before they fall apart from the waist.]
[Another short sequence shows a helmet-less Marine firing two SMGs, dive behind some storage boxes as sapphire lasers shred the room around him. Yet another scene shows a platoon of Marines inside the belly of a Covenant starship as they trade fire with a group of Brutes. A moment later a massive projectile slams into the ship between them, causing the screen to go white before cutting outside to show the massive Covenant attack carrier break in two before exploding, sending a rippling blue shockwave towards the top and bottom of the screen.]
[The next shot shows a close up as a Spartan looks past the screen. Seconds later the same Spartan looks behind him then watches a squadron of Longsword bombers fly overhead. The camera trails the bombers as they head toward a giant glimmering purple citadel that has a huge battle between Covenant and human forces taking place around it. Another scene shows a group of Wraith mortar tanks open fire on a distant human compound. The camera switches to the inside of the compound as Marines and other base personnel run away from the entrance of the compound, but a moment later blue fire engulfs them all as well as the screen.]
[The next scene shows an over-the-head shot as a Warthog leaps over a large crevice, as well as over a fleet of Banshees that are hovering directly below the soaring UNSC vehicle. A second later the Warthog actually lands atop of a Banshee and effectively uses it as a ramp, and as it lands on the other side of the canyon a Ghost that was pursuing the human vehicle slams into the Banshee moments later, exploding them both in mid-air. The next scene shows an extreme close up of a Marine's eyeball. The audience can see a Jackal, reflected in the eyeball; raise its plasma pistol and fire causing the screen to flash green.]
[Another scene shows Master Chief locking plasma swords with a Covenant Elite Commander as they stand on a narrow bridge in a vast seemingly endless chamber. The next scene shows a Covenant cruiser slam into the side of a UNSC Carrier, causing a wave of fire to erupt from the sides of both ships. Another scene shows one of the crab-like mechanized walkers from an earlier scene land in front of Master Chief and brings its glowing crimson optical sensor to bear on him.]
[The next scene shows a 3D Holographic display. In the center of the display is a orange outline that looks like the Phoenix's Kiss while multiple blinking red dots start to converge on it from all directions. Another scene shows a giant emerald green pillar of light erupt from the northern pole of Fenris 4 and head into the depths of space.]
[The final scene shows a large empty and snowy plane. The camera pans across a blockade of what must be more then 300,000 UNSC personnel complete with Warthog, 4x4 and Scorpion tank backup. In the middle-front of the large line of Marines stands a group of Spartans, and standing in the middle of them is Master Chief. There's a small explosion in the background and the camera turns to show an infinite number of Covenant forces storming down the hill toward the Marine blockade.]
HALO: WHITE BATTLEGROUND.
[All sound stops save for the sounds of boots on echoing into the distance as they step upon hard stone. The action fades in to show Master Chief and a group of Spec Ops Marines coming before a large ancient looking door enscribed in runes. Master Chief nods to one of the Marines, who nods back then, pulling a small kit from out behind him, goes to the door. He crouches and unthreads a small needle from the pack and inserts it into a small hole in the door then proceeds to work on a small keyboard inside the pack.]
MARINE: And.. we.. *the door begins to open* GOT IT!
[The marine stands back with Master Chief and the others as a bright light spills over them.]
LATINO MARINE: Woowww...
[Cut to inside the chamber, focusing on the door as Master Chief and company walk into the room, looking around. The camera pans around to show a walk-way into a large seemingly bottomless room with a giant sized, ancient looking metal sphere suspended in mid air above the pit; the walk way leading to it.]
CORTANA: I have a bad feeling about this..
MASTER CHIEF: We'll be fine.
[MC and two of the six marines walk foward and and across the gang way to the large sphere. But the one marine looks around and lets out a cry of surprise and the camera cuts to show that the platform they were just on seems to have rocketed off in the distance, now looking like it's a mile away. A burst of steam causes the three to turn and raise their rifles. The large sphere is unraveling, opening up. Cut to a close up of Master Chief.]
CORTANA: You were saying?
[Cut to a close up of the steam as something stirs within the depths of the sphere; twin sapphire eyes snapping on with a electronic buzz. Suddenly a crimson, pencil thin beam erupts from the depths of the sphere and punctures the helmet of the one marine, causing him to stagger backward then fall upward towards the cieling and out of sight.]
MASTER CHIEF: Go... go.. GO, GO, GO GO GO!!!
[As Master Chief and the remaining marine run toward then past the screen, back to the others and away from the unraveling sphere, something lets out a loud metallic sounding scream. A moment later something metallic with glowing angel wings made of pure sapphire energy bursts forth from the sphere and flies toward the camera, which flashes black before the thing can impact with it.]
