Death By Design Pt.1
Date: 16 November 2003, 12:46 AM
"Alright Cortana, I'm in." Masterchief hid behind a pillar. He poked his head out, and searched the room. Finding nothing, he checked his radar, just to make sure. Red surrounded him. A questioned look grew on his face, and he poked his head out again. BAM, Masterchief flew back a foot after being hit with a full round of needlers, then having them blow up in his face. He quickly got up, shook the pain off, and hid behind another pillar. "You have done it now." He pulled out his M6D Human Pistol, and checked to make sure it was loaded. It was, so he jumped out horizontally, and fired a full round into the Jackal. The Jackal's dead body slammed against the floor, and Masterchief spit on it. As he continued walking, he noticed his radar again, and red was covering every inch, including where he was. He took a quick look around, and noticed a Grunt or two standing by an opening in the wall. He slowly snuck up, and traded the M6D with a MA5B Assault Rifle. He walked behind them, and overheard them talking. He snuck up behind the one speaking, as the other one cowered. The Grunt was still talking, so Masterchief smiled. He pushed the gun up against the back of the Grunt's head, and heard the Grunt suddenly stop talking. He smiled even wider, and squeezed the trigger so tight that his knuckles turned white, and stopped 3 seconds later. He found that the Grunt no longer had a head, and that the second Grunt was covered in blood and brains. He lifted the MA5B, smiled and said, "Say cheese you Covie motherfucker!" He pulled the trigger in 3 short bursts, and paused. The Grunt was still standing, but hardly. Eh then pulled it one last time, and blew the Grunt back 5 feet. He then walked through the opening. Masterchief appeared on the other side, and checked his radar. He noticed fewer, but still a thriving supply of dots everywhere. He took a quick look around, and noticed Grunts, Jackals, and Elites everywhere. He wondered why they hadn't noticed him, and shrugged it off. He shoved another round into the MA5B, and continued toward a group of Elites. He figured that he should take the hardest out fastest. He snuck up behind the two, shoved one into the other, and fired at both of them. Bullets slammed into the first one, going through and also hitting the second one. The first one slid off of the second, but apparently an insufficient amount of bullets hit the second, so he was still standing. He quickly ran behind a corner, reloaded and replaced the MA5B for the M6D and turned back around finding that the second Elite was gone, and all the other Grunts and Jackals were pointing their weapons at him. "Holy shit!" Masterchief then grabbed a fragmentation grenade, tossed it around the corner, and plugged his ears!
Grufnole waited for the green devil monster to appear from behind the corner. He was a low ranked Elite that wanted to be promoted to at least Battle-Suit Red, but the way things are going now he wouldn't expect it. He suddenly heard a click-clack, click-clack and remembered what happened to him last time. He had half of his sliced or burned off from grenade shrapnel, or from the grenade itself. He ran away, and hid behind a pillar. He waited, heard an explosion and screams from his fellow Covenant, and winced. He stepped out, and met with The Green Monster. He tried to pull the trigger, but was in shock, and felt a full round slam against his chest. He fell down, and was bleeding badly. He thought to himself, 'so much for that raise,' and noticed The Green Monster approaching. He begged for mercy, but the Monster didn't listen. He noticed the Monster raise his gun, waive good-bye, and heard him mumble something. The Green Monster then pulled the trigger in a quick succession 7 times. All 7 bullets connected, and blew Grufnole's brains all over the floor.
Masterchief lifted his gun, waived good-bye to the Covie freak and said, "Good-bye you stupid Covie. May your soul rest in hell!" He then pulled the trigger 7 times, and spit on the Elite. He then walked, trying not to step in Covenant guts, brains, and blood but failed. He wiped the shit off his boots, and moved on. "Cortana, what exactly are we looking for again?" "Masterchief, you should know that. We have to find the Control Room for the new Covenant Transport Ship, 'Death By Design,' now let's get back to the mission." "Sorry Cortana, my mind's been on other things." Masterchief continued walking toward another opening, but suddenly felt at least 1 ton of pressure slam into the back of his head. He fell to the ground, grabbing his head on the way. He rolled over, and looked at what had hit him, and what he saw put fear inside him. He saw a Hunter standing over him, and knew it would be terribly hard to kill the thing without a M19 SSM Rocket Launcher. He then remembered about his younger days, and thought back to when he killed one with two well-trained shots to the leathery orange spot. He also remembered that Hunters travel in packs, and was even more scared. He got up, and rolled under the Hunter. He pulled his M6D Pistol, slammed it up against the leathery skin, and fired numerous times. Orange hue spilled and sprayed everywhere. He was relieved when he heard the Hunter cry out, and fall down but was reminded that there were two by hearing a Fuel Rod Cannon charging. He turned, and dodged the well-aimed bolt of Plasma. Plasma was well known for making wives widows, or giving marines a face-lift. He dodged the next shot, and aimed his M6D Pistol. He fired 7 shots at the most venerable orange spot, right under the chin. The second Hunter fell down, but was not dead. Masterchief didn't know that, and walked off. The Hunter used all of its strength, and pushed itself back up. It then charged, fired, and laughed. Masterchief heard the laugh, and turned. He moved just in time, and sighed. The wall he was up against was now basically all disintegrated. He aimed again, and hit his mark four more times. The second Hunter fell, and this time was dead. Masterchief walked around a corner, a sign on the wall said in big black letters, 'CONTROL ROOM'.
