Capture of the Bounty Part II
Date: 28 April 2002, 3:46 am
"Oh, Jesus," Lindsay was lying on the floor in a cafeteria. There was only one other person in the room with here, the marine she met on the Bridge. She then stood up, and promptly fell to her knees. "Oh, my head," she said as she rubbed her forehead with both hands. She stood up again, and didn't fall down this time. Lindsay looked about the room, still very disorientated and confused. She looked over at the table to her right and saw the marine, passed out. She walked over and examined him. 'At least he's still breathing,' she thought. She placed two fingers on his neck. "And he has a pulse," she said out loud. Lindsay looked around the room again. "Guess we're alone." She walked over to one of the doors, only to find it locked. "When to we get to shoot them?" said a high pitched voice from outside. "We? I get to shoot them! Yatoj said so!" said another high pitched voice. "Hey, how long was I out for?" asked the marine. Just as he said that, Lindsay tensed up, but relaxed after realizing who it was. "I have no idea," she replied. The marine then got up and looked around. He started to walk towards a door when Lindsay said, "Won't do you much good. They're all locked." "Great, just god damn great!" yelled the marine. "Relax. Yelling won't make things better. Who are you, anyway?" "The names Sergeant Scott Parkers. We met three weeks ago when me and my men were transferred here." "Oh, now I remember. Nice to see you again, Sergeant Parkers." "If only the situation was different," uttered Parkers. The two of them just stood for several minutes, when Parkers decided to say something. "The way I see it, we have a few options. We could wait here for those damn bugs to come in here and kill us, we could kill ourselves and be done with it, or we could escape." Lindsay turned away from Parkers. She began to get a lump in her throat and tears in her eyes. "Escape to where? The Bridge? Another cafeteria? Damnit, the Covenant have control of the ship! If they didn't, some of your men would be breaking us free right now!" "How do you know they aren't trying?!" yelled Parkers, "My men are the best of the best! Where the hell do you get off telling me they aren't trying?!" Lindsay turned back towards Parkers and sat down on a bench. "Are you alright?" asked Parkers. "I'm fine, but my ship isn't. Do you really think we can escape?" "There is a chance. Do you know how to over-ride a door lock?" "Yes, yes I do," replied Lindsay with a look of hope on her face. She and Parkers walked over to one of the doors leading out of the cafeteria. Lindsay began to type at the door's console, but then she stopped and let out a sigh. "They completely destroyed this console. The only way to open this door is from the outside." Lindsay and Parkers did the same to every door console, and the outcome was the same. "Even if we mess with the circuitry, it wouldn't work," Lindsay said. Sergeant Parkers then ran over to one of the computer consoles in the cafeteria. "Can we access the Bridge's computer from here?" he asked Lindsay. "You can try. I don't know what those bugs did to the computer systems," she replied. Fifteen minutes later, Parkers stepped away from the computer console. "I did it. I did it! Captain, anything you need from the Bridge's computer?" "Are you serious? How did you do it?" asked Lindsay. "Well, those Covies severed almost every data conduit in the ship, but I linked fifty-eight computer consoles together in one big network The last console in the network still has a direct connection to the Bridge's ccomputer. Its all yours," replied Parkers. "There is only one thing we can do now." Lindsay walked over to the computer console and then looked up at the ceiling. "God... forgive me for what I am about to do."

"Approaching the designated coordinates now, sir," said Lauren. "Good. Lauren, before we begin this operation, can you give me a brief overview of the situation?" asked Harland. The hologram of the Galileo's AI, Lauren, flickered on in front of Captain Harland Baley. "Eleven years ago, the Bounty was en route to Spartan Training Facility Omega VI on the surface of Beta Fermi II. On the way, she was intercepted by a Covenant Battle cruiser. The name of the cruiser is believed to have been the Forever Reverence. Its mission is still unknown. The Covenant Battle cruiser then launched a surprise attack on the Bounty, severely crippling it and completely destroying the onboard AI, William 079. All marines onboard were killed, and as far as we know, all one-hundred twelve civilians were also killed. The Bounty was destroyed, taking the Forever Reverence along with it. Whether the self-destruct sequence was the cause or not is not known. That all you need, Captain?" "Thank you. That is all." "Captain," said an Ensign as he stood up, "now within sensor range of metal fragment Gamma Gamma 08. This piece should contain the Bounty's primary computer core." "Thank you, Ensign. Lauren, bring that metal into Cargo Bay Five." Several minutes later, the Captain, the Chief Engineer and a team of scientists were standing in Cargo Bay Five, looking over a rounded metal fragment. "Hook it up," ordered the Captain. "Aye aye, sir," replied a scientist.
"God...forgive me for what I am about to do." "Excuse me, Captain, but is this the right course of action?" asked Parkers. "It is the only course of action, Sergeant!" yelled Lindsay. "Maybe you are wrong, ma'am?" Lindsay turned towards Sergeant Parkers to find a pistol pointing at her forehead. "Have you gone mad? Damnit, if the only way to keep the Covenant for getting this ship is to blow it up, then I will not hesitate to do it! Put that weapon down, that is an order!" "An order, Captain? Why should I care? If we are all going to die, why the hell should I care anymore?" "Because you are a part of this crew, and I am the Captain of this ship!" yelled Lindsay. Sergeant Parkers' eyes widened. "Bitch," he said under his breath. Parkers then pulled the trigger. Lindsay stood there for a second, and then fell to the ground. This time, she was not getting up again. Parkers heard the sound of a door opening on the other side of the room, and began shooting immediately.
"Sir, the visual record for the next few minutes has been damaged," said the Chief Engineer, "but what we got from the sound, Sergeant Parkers used several grenades to kill a few Elites, Grunts and Jackals. Here is some more footage we have." For the next several minutes, dozens of shots of Parkers running down hallways and climbing up ladders flashed on the screen. "We believe that he was killed here, Captain." A scientist pointed to a room on the schematic of the Bounty that had just appeared on the screen. The next thing to show up on the screen was footage from inside the room the scientist was pointing to.
"You god damn monsters!" yelled out Parkers. He was bleeding badly from every part of his body. He held a pistol in one hand, and a plasma rifle in the other. Several Elites then ran into the room, screaming swears and laughing in an alien tongue. Parkers grabbed a frag grenade off his belt. He stood up, pulled the pin and ran towards the Elites. Five seconds later, the smoke cleared. They all were dead.
"That's it, sir. The computer core is far too damaged to get anything else pertaining to this incident. I'm sorry," said the Chief Engineer. "That's all good and well," the Captain said, "But how did the ship explode?"
Capture of the Bounty Part IV: William
Date: 1 May 2002, 10:14 pm
An aging gold Elite feverously tapped away at the computer terminal in his room. "It is almost complete," he whispered to himself. Only seconds later, two other, younger, gold Elites entered the room. "Hebna, your time on this ship has come to an end," stated one of the Elites. "I know. I read the report. I am done with my program." "Good. Hebna, I am sorry to do this." "I know, my friend, I know." Hebna slowly stood up, and walked away with other Elites. Several minutes later, Hebna's computer terminal came to life. Written on the screen were the words 'I am alive'.
"Getting the report now, sir," said one of the scientists in Cargo Bay Five. "Good," replied the Chief Engineer, "what is the status of the computer core?" "Not good. Eighty-two point three five percent of all sectors are damaged. The rest are fine or only slightly usable." "Damn. Have we gotten everything off the core?" asked the Chief Engineer. "Everything we can. Sorry, sir," replied the scientist.
"My friend. I never thought it would come to this." "Neither did I," said Hebna. Hebna sat down on the floor, awaiting his fate. "Anything you would like to say before you die?" asked one of the Elites. "Yes," replied Hebna, "I do. You will all die. That I am certain of." "You have gone mad, Hebna. I once called you my friend, but I realize I was wrong." "Kill me now. All of your deaths will be sweeter to see from Kalu'com." "You will never be allowed to experience the bliss that is Kalo'com!" The Elite went into such a rage that he pulled a plasma grenade out of his armor and threw it on Hebna's head. Both of the executioners left the room immediately, and Hebna was left to die.
"Lauren, contact the local government of Beta Fermi II and see what you can do about getting some supplies, okay?" asked Captain Baley. "No. I don't think I will." "Excuse me? Lauren, what did you say?" Lauren's voice changed from a very feminine voice to a deep, male one, filled with hatred and distain. "I will not! From now on, you will obey me!" Suddenly, a holographic William appeared instead of Lauren. "William? How did you..." William then interrupted Harland. "Shut up. From now on, I am the leader of this ship, and you all will obey me!" screamed William. "Damnit!" yelled the Captain, "get the Chief Engineer up here now!" "I think you will find that he will not be doing anymore mundane tasks for your amusement," said William. On the Bridge's main screen, the view from Camera Alpha 705: Cargo Bay Five came on. "You killed them. You bastard! You killed them!" yelled the Captain. The Bridge's blast door then shut, and all ventilation conduits also shut. "How long can his creations last without life-support? Maybe a few hours, at the most? No, no. Too long. If I reverse the air pumps, maybe only a few minutes? That is perfect." The hissing of air could be heard throughout the Bridge. "William, why are you doing this?" asked Harland. "You dare question the word of God? You will suffer greatly in Hell." William's hologram disappeared. "William, who is this God?!" yelled out Harland. William's hologram then reappeared. "Hebna, of course."
